Landlords in Alberta have much better control over their property than landlords (private property owners) in Ontario. So, it looks that Alberta is a better option for real estate investment and rental income.
From the rent control perspective that seems right. From economic fundamentals, Ontario seems to attract way more immigrants than Alberta. Appreciation in Ontario is much higher than that in Alberta ad well. We have to take into account the big picture when we make investment decision.
