I really wouldn't call StarShip small. They had one of THE top GGs of the 2nd generation and Monsta X is not unknown either :D They are a good mid tier company.
As a rookie group from a small company, the audiences were actually cheering for them pretty loud, and that is NOT easy. At least they get some attentions for their debut. Fifty fifty didn't get attention for their debut song, so I think it's too early to predict if they will be the next hit group from a small company.🎉
all the instances you mentioned aren't quite the same case with KOL, but i do see the point. they're getting decent amount of attention though, and the company's not doing a bad job with promotion- just look at the effort on solos and MVs alone. they have investors, their CEO isn't a nobody, if they pull the right strings, i can see them being the next big thing, potentially even ROTY if it weren't for Babymonster debuting this year.
