ive searched over 200 videos looking for this. was 100 percent worth it. i used this warm up a while back when i was more consistent with running and just remember feeling loose while running. as a former hs track and cross country runner i know the importance of these stretches and sequence. i didnt want to look at anyone elses videos on dynamic stretching
My previous PR for a 5K was 25:09, I did this routine before my run today and boom, 23:51.

I've been running regularly since May 2013. My current PR is 22:30, which was during a training tempo run of 9K
Funny thing is that I have a 5K race today, in which I'm aiming to break 20 minutes.
Don't let times and PR's define you as a runner, let the running define itself.

Maaan! Thaaank YOU so much! I don't know if it's this warm-up or what, but just few minutes ago I've finished my jog, and first time in my life I've done 4km! I know it's little to You, but I'm a beginner and before today I could do maximum 2 km, and today I've done twice as much! I promised myself I'll do 5km tomorrow! I'll do it!

THANKYOU i've seen a huge improvement in my run. not only can i go faster but i can keep that speed and it actually feels fun. i know for sure there is a big difference because for the past 3 weeks iv only been doing dynamic stretches so a massive thankyou

amunera toe touches from a standing up position. Stand up with your feet about a shoulder width apart with your hands straight out at your sides. Than go down to touch your right foot with your left hand.
Straighten your back again to its original position then go down to touch your left foot with your right hand.
Alternate 20 times.
most of people would be dead even before finishing this warm up lol

My calves tighten up after a couple of laps in a standard track (800m / 0.5mile), what can I do before jogging.

Also consider working on general flexibility/mobility. I do yoga every evening and improving my flexibility in general has helped my runs

Also very precise, I just used my HRM to see the caloric burn, and I burned exactly 58 calories, which is where the range starts. Amazing work Oscar!
Thank u that was great how u ran thru it plus used text all the way along as well as had all exercises listed at the beginning. Thank u I will try to do this daily even on non running days until can do it with out thinking too much. I haven't found a good routine presented like this before and more often than not I skip a decent warmup and have had many injury and long periods of not training as lost confidence and motivation. Fingers crossed this becomes a habit!!

Hey Oscar 8 years ago! :) I will follow this routine for my next run (waiting for the distancing caused of Covid-19).
I have used this warm up hundreds of times over the years. Since having kids i took some time out now starting again i looked around for alternatives and to see if any advice has changed in the last few years but this is still the best warm up on YT. Thank you!

Yes but add the ones you need more. Make sure to loosen your hips before and stretch after
Yes, it helps increase the temperatures which difference enzymes need to start a cascade of reactions for different fuel systems. In short it helps not just prevent injuries but get the body ready for strenuous exercise

It is to do before running. After running, perhaps do some static stretches, where you hold a pose, or maybe some walking to cool down
