You can simply export a folder as a catalogue on one device and import that catalogue on the other device. MUCH easier and exactly what that feature is for.

Liked the video. However, when sharing the collection to your phone or web, how do you check that little "lightning" icon to show up? Do I need to also have Lightroom mobile on my computer as well?

Bonjour Alain. 2 possibilités: 1/ arrêter la synchro (en haut à droite de ton écran, petit nuage) et la redémarrer. les cases de synchronisation devraient se trouver à côté des collections. 2/ attention, cette synchro n'est possible que pour les collection "normales" par pour les smart collections (dont le contenu est automatisé) J'espère que cela pourra aider
I am having problems with the synching from LRC. It is stuck on 2754 photos to sync. If you know how to fix this this it would be appreciated. This has been going on for almost two months now.

Not a huge fan of Adobe Portfolio at all...Lack SEO and analytics option which are very important for a website.
WOW that explanation of how you mobile travel is the most confusing thing I have ever heard...
Wow sorry about that, here are the steps again:
1. you have a folder that is common to your laptop and desktop (with dropbox app you can select which folder goes to what computer make sure that folder is in both computer)
2. when you travel you imprt the photo in that folder and retouch them as you go, then select all Metadata - save metadat
3. back home you right click synch that folder and select all and select meta data read meta data and boom all your work you did on travel is fully updated home (and backed up in the clouds as you go!)
I've always thought the non-destructive edit info has to be stored in a catalogue file
Lightroom has an "Import from another catalog" function that I use. I copy all my images from my laptop to my main computer, copy the Lightroom catalog, and tell Lightroom to import from there. I think this is the best way of doing it, so your image files aren't modified by metadata updates.
@@donncha1 I've been using the Import Catalog method for years with LrC when I am out with my laptop and need to return home to my main computer with my Network Drive. Using USB 3.1+ allows for very fast transfer and imports... Using the Cloud LR, just seems cumbersome to me with online / cloud file management.
Why not just use the LightRoom's cloud to sync between devices?
I do that too- what that does though, depending on the devices you use, is sync only the previews. Also, you can only connect one Lightroom Classic catalog to the cloud to sync with other devices and on those devices, you'll be using Lightroom (the not desktop version). It works well for me, but it isnt the same as having 1;1 full hq copies across devices..

Tip 2: You don't need to create a preset with the corrections of the Marine's portrait, just select all the photos and "Sync"… et voilà !

How arrogant it is to say I don't know something. Ranking photos is as old as Lightroom, why are you just now using this technique? You need to get current and stop talking down to the people who watch your videos.
I feel sorry for you if a feature in LR can change your life. Honestly.
Why didn't you use the "create individual masks" when you selected the people mask? This would create all the mask in one go.
