- Check out my Japanese apartment in downtown Kyoto.
Living in Kansai rather than the Tokyo area has its benefits. Let me show you what you can expect for an average rent.
Japanese apartments are sweet. They're not big but you have everything that you could need.
Also, please help me solve the window vent mystery! ;-)

This was probably my favorite Japanese apartment video. Love the color of the wood floor and all the light in the bedroom. I was looking for a video that explains how you ended up in Japan in the first place but couldn't find one, I would watch if you made one. I also have one question on commuting, since Japan is so compact and has a great transportation system are you really ever far from anything? I live in the states (L.A.) so things are much more spread out. Hope to get a chance to experience Japan someday. Keep up the cool videos.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video! :-D
I've never made a vid on why I'm here. I think I maybe mentioned some things here and there but I could certainly dedicate a video to it.
Japan is very compact that's true, especially compared to L.A. haha
For me tough being able to walk anywhere or take my bike is a huge plus of living downtown Kyoto. In Tokyo it's not unusual to take long subway rides to go for dinner for example.
Coming from Switzerland I'm just used to being able to walk to most places. So I guess that's why I really like it. :)
Damar - check out this site; www.cheapfareguru.com / Last Thanksgiving day, I found a round trip ticket from LAX (Los Angeles Intl) to NRT (Tokyo, Narita Intl) for $495.56 8/24 thru 9/2. It is on Singapore Airlines. Typical cheaper times that I have seen for travel to Japan is in Mid March to 1st week of May and then in late Sept to just before Thanksgiving day. Good luck in your searches and hope you get to experience Japan someday soon!
Very nice apartment! And those views! Fabulous. And I adore that little balcony, great place for a breakfast or to read. :) As to hanging things on the walls, make sure to ask if you can, those hooks in bedroom look like so called gallery hanging system, what could suggest you won't be able to put a nail in a wall, but as I said, that's a thing to ask. As to those vents, maybe that's why you have on/off on them, to not let more moisture when it's humid out? But that's a rough guess, I only know trickle vents are more and more popular, cause people started to notice, that when they have new very well sealed windows, environment inside gets unhealthy.
Thx for watching the vid!
I can use small picture hooks but no nails. So heavy stuff is a no go but pictures are fine.
That sounds logical. It will definitely get interesting once the weather gets more humid. Right now I really like the vents, who knows what will happen in the summer hehe.
i love japaness apartements iam going to move there in one month and i will be living in kyoto iam very excited :)
Hello! How was/is your experience living in Kyoto?
The cables on the wall are picture hooks, so you don't put holes in the walls. You can move them around and you should be able to move the hooks up and down along the cable too
It's funny how different cultures value spaces. In the US it seems like Living Room/Kitchen tend to dominate the space as it gets smaller, whereas in Japan they prioritize hygene (shower, bath, toilet, laundry, etc... having dedicated space as opposed to squished in wherever they fit).
your flat is so cool and wide!! I live in tokyo and my apartment is like so damn small 😬
Thanks for watching!
Haha I know what you mean. My place in Tokyo was tiny... ^^
I love your apartment tour, tough I'm Japanese😄haha
Nick I had an amazing time in Japan! We did Tokyo, Fujiyoshida, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka! It was a trip of a lifetime. We hit Cherry Blossom peak in 4 cities :). Thank you for all the tips!
YOU HAVE SUCH AN SPACEY AWESOME APARTMENT! ITS EVERYBODIES DREAMMM!!! You are so luckyy
Hiii your apartment is the best one. I love the layout, simplicity, fresh air, so many windows ( specially the tiny window at bathroom) I want this consep to be my real home also the electronics system. Thank you for shared.
That is a really nice place. you really have a lot of room for the price. Love it and all the sunshine you can let in, AWESOME!
I enjoy your video. I hope you will find pictures that remind you of your home. This would not be 'cheesy' but would add international interest to your Japanese home. Thank you. Keep up the great videos.
So i just came across your channel like a couple of mins ago & I see it's all about living in Japan & im all about that ! Please make more videos :)
Heey, those thing on the wall are indeed commonly used to hang paintings or something alike with. We use them also in Europe haha from the IKEA
great tour .... thanks for sharing your place ... keep it up bro 👍🏾
wow I love this apartment ! I love all the windows like you mentioned !
Sweet looking pad, love the floors. and that separate shower. Pretty dope
Damn man! Everything is technologically advanced as fuck!
I wish one day I could live in a apartment like that. Living in a place like that for a month will make my wish come true...
SyedAhmedPS Same
That's a really nice apartment and I love that everything is electric. I can imagine it starting to feel really small if you had more stuff in it though.
I like the windows feature, it will make the air quality to be better; ventilation
this apartment is better than a one bedroom I once had here in Canada
This apartment is quite big! You are so lucky
He is a rich kid. Money makes life easier in every sense of the word.
How did you find this apartment? Is it 1DK, or 1LDK? Also looking for something similar. Great place!
so far the beat apartment tour, I want a apartment like this, thank you for sharing 😊😊
This apartment looks so cool! The video was great, you probably did the best job of talking about everything and being informative in the time period that I've seen. how much does an apartment like this cost? I've seen some extremely small ones and some overkill for one person and this seems like a good size in the middle.
The hanging hooks are for pictures and stuff since you get fined if you put holes in your wall
I love this apartment! Great video
Those hanging things are to hook frames, since you can't make holes in the walls (sorry if this has been said in another comment, I'm watching this from my phone and can't easily scroll through all the comments).
Nice apartment and nice video! Will subscribe for more :)
Are you Swiss by the way? You got busted by the Coop bag lol
Hi from Lausanne ;)
Best apartment video I've ever seen, you make me want to move to Japan :D
I think those are clothing hangers. like to hang your school uniform and other light clothing. One of my friends have little hangers such as those close to their bedroom door so I presume that's the function for them.
Love the layout!
one day when i make enough money, i definitely gonna spend 1 year in japan just travelling and working part time. a what a good life
Really nice apt. Is just that the kitchen is so small. The refrigerator is so small here in California are big enough for my food.
In Barbados I went to the market bought some Dutch cloth it was beautifull framed it amd put it on the wall lovely
that view tho ughhhh i cant wait till i move out
i just found this channel and its really cool! i hope you will post new stuff soon!
Just found your great Channel. I subscribed
I really want to move to japan!
that,s a very nice apartment i like it
That actually looks like a fairly decent sized apartment for being Japan.
Very nice place.
Love your apartment. I plan to live in Japan one day as well. My absolute favorite thing about apartments/houses in Japan is the bathing room. I have 2 small dogs. What do Japanese people think of having dogs living in the house/apartment? Are the walls thick enough to prevent you from hearing your neighbors? Thanks for sharing.
Nice video! I am new here, but how long have you been living in Japan? ^^ Really cool channel, keep up the good work. :)
Hello from skg Greece very nice video .. the house is a pleasure for 1-2 people safe smaill smart is perfect but if it had a bigger balcony would be perfect they could sit out on the balcony 2 people would be perfect.:)
Hello Nick! Your channel is very interesting. I want more videos! :D God bless you.
Those hooks at 5:30 are for hanging pictures.
this video makes me want to move to Japan, ASAP
Awesome place man. I miss Japan so much. cant wait get back. Japanese just have so much more care in design, cleanliness, and comfortability of living spaces. Its not weird for westerner to prefer japanese style bathrooms and toilets. the ones who have spent time living there understands why Japanese design is a lightyears better, I hate american toilets and bathrooms.
nice apartment but why did you keep refrigerator upsidedown .
LIKE aizenshadow said. WIRE ARE THERE FOR PICTURES AND THINGS WE PUT ON WALLS HERE IN AMERICA. GOOD SIGN, "NO DRILLING OR NAILING ALLOWED!!!". LOL
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Did I miss it? Or did it not show the front rooms and bedroom?
What is the name of the japanese language books you were using? The ones you prefer.
Beautiful flat!!
Thank you for posting. You are very detailed....=0)
really nice flat. those things for what us think. coz u can't stick anything on the walls by itself. like nails and staff
Ugh, my Uni also uses Minna No Nihongo at I think it's so bad. I prefer to study from the internet, really, but the exam is structured on it so I'm doomed.
What camera and equipment did you use to film?
what is the name of your estate ? which agency did you engage to get this unit ?
"The best place in any Japanese apartments.... the bathroom"
Me: SAAAAME!!!! 😂😂
HI, DOES THE RENT INCLUDE UTILITIES? HOW DO U GET YOUR MONEY (BANKS) ? ARE ALL THE WINDOWS IN APTS. LIKE YOURS? PRETTY NEAT!
Please answer. I've asked many people this and no one answered. How do I learn Japanese easily? I wanna learn it really bad and I don't know how to learn it easily.
I would assume that the hooks for hanging decorations. It would be bad to put a nail in that wall.
How old are you and what do you do as a job in Japan to afford living there, also is it required to speak Japanese to move there?
Why do people say that the quality of housing is bad in Japan
MrWalker1000 because it’s quiet small and there is a lot of insects that get inside if your on a ground floor. But personally, I like that fact that they are small and minimalistic
@@zainababdulrazzaq3544 I'm surprised about the insect part. You'd think Japanese stuff would be quality.
MrWalker1000 everything really is a good quality. It’s just got something to do with the humidity and the environment of japan being near water and a lot of forests nearby. It’s not that surprising really that bugs would make their way in the house.
i love your tower of trash. i need that in my house.
Does anyone know anything about moving to japan as a foreigner? I plan on moving to Japan, but don’t really know how or what to do get an apartment. :/
a friend of mine had a 3 bedroom apartment for around 600 usd lol and he lives in osaka xD
though he does get a discount from the landlord
how did you find this apartment? I pay 80,000 yen for a room in a share house in Tokyo. Let alone an apartment O_O I guess Tokyo really is crazy expensive compared to the Kansai area
glii glii gots au ab of japan bi mer. guet z wösse das es ned öberall so tüür esch wie in Tokyo. esch en öberlegig wärt de felech mol ergend wo andersch hii z zieh.
danke förs video. mol e vloger vo de schwiiz in japan! toll!
haier is a Chinese brand
I just realised... Why is there a lock on the balcony door? Incase some crazy bastard climbs up the building, they can't come in? It seems pretty silly :P
Very nice apartment! I like Japanese apartment. They way they build them, very nice. I wish I could move to Japan:)
F Agustin Yeah :D I'm going to Japan next year and Im planning on living there after university :)
$800?!! That's a deal for that tiny place? Japan is like New York Price wise? It is very nice but $800 seems much. I thought Kyoto was supposed to be better bargain.
Where is your TV??
why has japan kyoto and tokyo apartments have to be so so small?
can t japan build big huge apartments instead???
You have a great accent!! Where are you originally from?
Did I hear it right? 12 bucks for a laundry??!! wow
No place to conveniently park your heavy work boots, hard hat and personal work tools. This would be unsuitable for a Japanese steel mill, or shipyard worker. They have a lot of gear to park.
Nice apartment, looks expensive!
how much for a month ?in tokyo is too expensive
You though having all those locks on the front door was over kill? Then WHY IS THERE A LOCK ON YOUR BALCONY DOOR 10 STORIES OF THE GROUND?!
animeangela227 "ninjas"

Loving the tour!
I got my own place too!
I uploaded an empty apartment tour video :)
Check it out and let me know what you think?
Spoiler alert: My place is not as cool as yours :P

Oha coop sack im schrank für mich und dich
Theres no TV omg
no TV ... i cant live without my PS4
Honey Lemon Queen he might be using his computer as a TV
I'm more shocked that people still worship these black rectangles that tell them how to think and what to like.
"living room" and "bedroom" LMFAO!
What the fuck kind of accent is that mate :) ?
Hi 👋
Sausages??? Disgusting!
84k yen is a steal deal for apartment this size, they can easily go higher than 100k yen, great view too
those wires from 2.35 can be used for plants and pictures basiclly everything that can be put on a wall that requires you drilling holes. simply put it's to avoid too much damage to the appartment should you decide on moving so they don't need to spend to much time on fixing things that will cost only time till the place can be rented out again, i had that in the last 2 places i lived
aizenshadow i spent like 15 minutes sifting through the comments just to know what the hooks were for
i hoped it helped
aizenshadow Q
dream apartment.
