Back in the day a few shady card dealers would open the packs and pull the rookies and stars then use a heat gun to reseal the pack after they replaced the good cards with commons.
Yeah I’m sure that’s still happening now too - definitely a risk buying high end vintage wax packs - still fun to open them though
@@vintagesportflips abolutely agree, I grew up in the Topps only era (70s) then Donruss & Fleer (1981) came along, then Upper Deck (1989), Went off to college to play baseball and my card collecting came to a halt unfortunately. Nowadays their are so many card companies or product to choose from, how do you determine which brand will be the true rookie card, for example Paul Skenes rookie??
@@JAY-ROCK i got my card collecting start in the early 80’s and the first packs I remember opening were 1983 Topps. As to modern stuff, i enjoy looking through it, opening packs, or getting in breaks but admittedly it can be confusing. I don’t think you can ever say this is the true rookie card of a particular player. Each player will have tons.
