Actually Jolibeee opened a long time ago when Sunway Pyramid 1st open. They did't last long as there were many better options.
I have tried Jolibee in Manila and it's ok. Definitely better than having their street food. That is why Jolibee is so popular in the Philipines (in my opinion).
Also tried in Sunway Pyramid recently. Fried Chicken is not bad and burger is quite nice. Pineapple juice was nice too...

Was living in the Philippines for a few years, and I have yet to try the Jollibee in Malaysia. All I can is that you have to manage your expectations and not expect any fast food joint to serve super delicious food. Spaghetti in the Philippines is usually on the sweet side especially in Jollibee. Something different to try in Jollibee would be the “Palabok” noodles though I’m not sure if they have it Malaysia branch. Also, as a Malaysian, I think we are basically spoilt for choices in terms of food variety compared to our neighbouring countries.

It’s okay to not like Jollibee. I’m Filipino and and it’s not my really my fave. But spitting food in front of camera for views is so darn disrespectful. Filipinos abroad go to Jollibee for the nostalgia not because of the food. Most of our childhood birthdays are done in Jollibee that’s why most of the menu basically suits a 5y/o kid’s palate. Filipino kids go to Jollibee for the mascot. Coz we rather see a jolly bee than a scary clown at McDonald’s. So to all you foreign foodies out there please don’t go to Jollibee and expect Michelin star cuisine, its fast food!

I think it just a matter of taste preferences. And we should respect that. As for Malaysian, our history very well diverse especially the trade spices route during Malacca SUltanate. Bring a lot of fusion between arabs, indian, chinese and local malay back there. Compared to PH, they hv been colonized by many, Spanish, portugese, japan, US.. thus we can see the colonial influence in their foods, culture and religion. Spaghethi, rice, burger some sort become their staple foods.
Malaysian foods actually among the best in south east asia, even not as popular as thai foods, but when ask tourist that have been to malaysia and thailand, they still pick Malaysia for broad choices, as taste can all be preferences. I just wish that we can create a fast food version of nasi kandar, so that it can be introduces outside Malaysia.

It's because Philippines has the worst food among 9 Asean countries I have visited and eaten the food. For them, fried chicken with white rice or on pasta can be a meal they eat regularly.
They mostly don't eat spicy food which is so needed in tropical climate to stimulate your palate. I have seen brownish and pink gooey gravy of some of their dishes, not appetising at all.
So safest choice is Jollybean and grilled chicken if you visit the country.

Jollibee tastes different depending on the country. They don't have a standard and basically try to mix in the local taste with our own so it may taste weird, that may be the downside as it is also how Filipinos blend in other countries.😅 Best to try it in Philippines and see for yourself if you really like how they taste natively.

@@markodea It seems so, when I compare with Jollibee Singapore. It has a subtle difference in taste (I bet with the use of certain frying oil I assume ever since jollibee is made Halal here in Singapore, which is not in the Philippines (understandably).
Still surprised that Vietnam is enjoying jollibee there and has some menu options which are not normally found in the Philippine menu.
Now, I'm curious on how "bad" Jollibee there in Malaysia (haha, I assume it has an identity crisis whether the recipe should retain the Philippine taste or slightly change for the local taste). How much Jollibee...ehem... "botched" the taste of the original real flavor of Jollibee especially the fried chicken, haha. I don’t know, but I’m quiet prejudice of this one thing, Malaysia is on the halal side right? so maybe there are some crucial adjustments on the recipe there, or maybe im wrong, maybe it’s the taste pallets of the people there? But we Filipinos really love Jollibee as a whole, even if we can already access to a more pricey food places, we still go back to eat here. It’s that good.

I just find it funny to be rating presentation when eating in a FAST FOOD 🤷‍♀️ for some reason, I’ve seen other reviews who gave honest feedback (not all positive as well) but I didn’t feel disrespected nor annoyed- but this video got in my and husband’s nerves. Saying “not saying it’s bad” after badmouthing 90% of the food is ironic 🤷‍♀️

the taste of jollibeemy is a little bit different from jollibeeph, more options too, but I think entirely the taste is not so suited to Malaysian taste, but they triiiied to meet it halfway and also make it halal but it is a bit meh. probably lucked out on the gravy that day too as usually it is very tasty.
if you go back to UK, please try Jollibee there too and let us know if it's any different!

I never was a fun of jolibee when i was in the Philippines but when i came to America, my wife and her family will always go to jolibee whenever they are traveling and there is a close one. I must say that the chicken from jolibee in New Jersey branch are better than kfc’s chicken near our house here in Massachussetts. I don’t know if it has something to do with the cook but maybe i will try jolibee from other countries too if i have a chance in the future just to see if the taste changes. Peace to all ✌️
