How do you create “heat transfers” that can be used with a mini iron?
What paper do you use and what kind of ink
For the air forces did you have to prep the surface with acetone?
What about custom designs? I’d love to do my branding on a shoe or hoodie
I know it's a bit late but just in case anyone else reading. You need an inkjet printer and a design software, like photoshop or any software to do your own designs. If you want crisp print on your heat transfer paper, then get a photo printer. That will have better resolution and make your design pop. You can get heat transfer paper online, maybe amazon or your local big stationary type stores.

Inkjet printing can range from $220-$490
Transparent heat transfer paper to print design on $10-$30.
You’ll have to test which brand works best on your garment and sneakers. Don’t buy bulk. But small sheets and test until you get the one work best for you. Get as many designs on one sheet cause they are pricey as you start printing more designs for different projects.
Mini Iron Gun to apply lightly your design, enough they stick your sneakers $38.00.
Wagner Iron Gun $40.00 to seal your design permanently to your sneakers or hoodie/t-shirts.

Yes you have to get vinyl paper and print it on there. If u have a cricut machine you can automatically cut the image

I feel like a lot of videos like these leave out the subject of pressure, you need to apply enough pressure to make sure it stays on when you wear the sneakers, its not just about the heat. A lot of these heat transfer materials are meant for flat surfaces where you can utilize a heat press, in the case of shoes, it is difficult to get enough pressure due to it not being an entirely flat surface.
