So it blows me away when TXT decided to use the more theatrical approach. Because a movie and a play is essentialy the same, but different. And they chose to do a play, not a movie. So woah. This concept is new and unique, and (as far as I know) all the other KPOP groups never tried this approach before
If you didn't watch the VCR that txt did then here is a little information for you. This is just how I took it... It might not be true but this is how I took in the video to everyone else it might be different so please don't hate on me for this. The boy with the horns (Yeonjun) woke up one day filling something on his head (horns) so he went to go see what it was and he noticed it was horns. When he went to school everyone was calling him a freak or a monster and he yelled back saying he was not a monster. Then he got so scared he ran off into the woods he just kept going deeper until he seen a bright white light and that's when he meet the boy with wings. The boy with wigs (Huening Kai) told him his horns where beautiful and he didn't need to change. That's how we got crown (mv) when he excepted it. Then nap of a star if you see the boy with the ears (Soobin) he was trying to find a source to help find the other members. The boy with the black star eye (Taehyun) he somewhat represented the star that was sleeping when he opened the eye the boy with the spiked shoulder (Beomgyu) woke up from his nap which caused him to help find the other members. The ending is when all of them got together to help the boy with the horns (Yeonjun) to not change who he is cause he is beautiful just the way he is and that's when the star woke up from it's sleep which is what they where staring at in the ending.
From the outside this is a story about growing pains and how friendships and relationships can shape a person's world and life. Yeonjun (the eldest member) is the main character, here. And the Korean narration was unfortunately not translated but plays a key into the storytelling. The main idea is the boys promised under this start to be friends and meet again. But when they slowly grew up they lost sight of that, and the star lost it's light. Their growing pains became hardships and they began, to seek out each other. If you notice, when the 5 boys leave the star, an omen flies passed, the burned out star. Once, Yeonjun leaves home, that same omen can be seen in the background, watching him. It looks like a witch with a skull's face. I believe this to be the harbinger of death, aka grim reaper. It is waiting for the right moment to prey on his insecurities and fears. Yeojun, being the eldest, grew the most and had lots of traumatic experiences, people regarded him as a monster, according to the promotional trailer, for TXT. I am not sure for sure of the creeping of the cat but, I believe the symbolizes the idea of being between the worlds of life and death. It may even be the omen that has been watching him this entire time, in it's true form. In Egyptian myth, they are the doorway, to and from the afterlife, for example it's how Constantine was able to enter to hell, in living flesh. SPOILERS Another reason for his way of life dealing the supernatural and occult is that he attempted suicide and was brought back from the beyond. If you notice, as the cat approaches, a sudden gash appeared on his throat, which I would assume was a attempt, that failed, because he ran. Once he was in the ring of red and blue trees he again attempted and succeeded, at tearing away one of his horns. It' was them the boy with wings HeuningKai (the youngest), found him again. I believe the blue and red trees, represents the red string of fate. In eastern myth, culture and storytelling the red string of fate represent fated love, most believe romantic, but can also be represented as friendship or familial love, as well. The 5 young men, now grown found him before he could destroy himself, it was then that the light of the star shone again, restoring their original promise, to meet again. And at the end of the video it says "+U". This was part of the theory clues, left in BTS performances previous to the launch of TXT. It means, Tomorrow, Together with You, an important message of hope and healthy growth with those who love and cherish each other most. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
As for the video, the style is based on Georges Méliès filming style using vivid coloring, multiple exposures and substitute splices, That's what gives that static movement. When I first saw this I thought of The Smashing Pumpkins Tonight, Tonight and Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. It really hurts my heart to know that there are ppl in this world who will put their self through physical, emotional, & mental pain to be "normal" or to "fit in". 🥺 I've always, somewhat, fit in to society, but if I were ever at that point or feeling that way, like I didn't "fit it" I'd walk away thinking "their lose". It's ok to be different & no one should judge you for that.

No the story is 5 young boys in the beginning of the story and they are innocent and the “star” is spinning and shinning above, but then they all separate and the star stops moving. It stops shining. Years later when they are all alone they have their own differences. Yeonjun, the one with horns, is ashamed of himself and runs away from home into the forest because people are afraid of him and hate him, call him a freak. Throughout the story it shows his struggles alone in the forest as well as showing his friends and what they have become, (ex. HueningKai has wings) and eventually Yeonjuns horns progressively keep growing bigger, Yeonjun just wants to give up and be normal and not be different so he tries to rip off his horns, once he rips off one of them. His friends appear once again and help him and comfort him, showing him it’s okay to be different, that we are all different in BEAUTIFUL ways, not to try and get rid of it. Then when they are all together again, the star starts spinning again. They are finally together. The star is shinning.

But running just take to a deep depressive state and make the demons inside you push you to the extreme (sometime by hurting themselves)and again afraid of their thoughts they run and try to fix theire problems but they just hurt themselves more .the others members represent different concerns and imperfection others may have as well ,the Angel is more a good person they may accounted in theirs journey who is by their side and may help them. in the end all together they find the strength to stand up and accept themselves and the star is like a new beginning for all of them😊
The horn thing is like that one wolverine movie where the one kid was cutting his wings because he was scared of what was happening to him. It's not based off of that but I think it's a pretty good comparison. In the MV the main character of the story didn't want to accept how he looked but when he met his friends again they all had something similar happen to them and he realized he wasn't alone.

Andy, I have more thoughts on this mv..... this mv concept reminded me of a children's book - WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE by Maurice Sendak (circa 1963). I think I can even recall a stop action type adaptation of the book. Idk, I could be completely wrong on this. At any rate - Beautifully done mv from the BEST - BigHit!! ♡♡♡ I see many great things to come from the TXT boys in the future. I can also see that they are making their own path in Kpop! ♡♡♡
This is my favourite TXT song ❤ If you like story mv's you should watch Dreamcatcher. They follow a storyline through a few mv's and they are very underrated.
Most basic, short explanation: Fly High - They are cursed and trapped in a Mansion. Chase me - ghost hunter/investigator comes to 'catch/kill them. Good Night - they trap ghost hunter and escape. You and I - girls try to break the curse.

Sorry you pausing is very annoying, with Bighit with their MV's want you to watch so no copyright. But other main companies and music shows will copyright. Won't watch anymore, if you keep pausing.
