Lionel Richie is so underrated. He's the man. He wrote the We Are The World Africa together with Michael and helped put together all those artists to record together. Through his career he has wrote so many good songs for himself AND to other top singers.
Look for the live performance of Michael Jackson's song "Beat it " and you get to see how excited that he gets when Eddie plays the guitar solo!! He is like a little kid watchingl a big bother amazed and full of excitement!!
I still prefer the original. This group didn't give me a feeling of togetherness that the original group did, and it sounded like they used autotune on this version and none of the original artists needed autotune. I just got a weird feeling from this version and cringed at certain parts.
The best song - bar none - a classic to this day - and was the first - was the song that spawned LIVE AID - the Christmas Charity song "Do They Know Its Christmas" by all the UK stars at the time. by BAND AID.
@@keetahbrough Actually on first glance that's what it seems, however, the writer explained the lyrics numerous times that it was sarcasm/lack of self awareness and apathy on the Western audience.
also im not a patreon member atleast not yet so i dont know if i can reccomend songs but you should watch iam tonge audition an american idol and his finale with james bluntit will tear you up
It's still poor, because not only do they "owe" France, but due to the western backed puppet government, they are still where they are. Also no one cares how Haiti is doing, because when you give aid, you don't ask how it's being used, it's optional.
The fun part of these videos is trying to catch all the different artists and remembering their names. 5:51 this guitarist is Orianthi and Michael Jackson had her on his “This Is It” tour to play the guitar solo in “Beat It”. She’s such a great guitarist.
I am glad the Artists did this, but it is not as great as the original. You could tell all of the Auto tune in the video and it distorted the sound to make it sound so artificial. I think auto tune changed things and not for the better.
Because of the age will live in in this brings the mind how they've only people that are really impositioned to help or the halves the successful the rich we're living in a time that we're bashing people who are successful and trying to drag them down to make those that aren't so fortunate to feel like they're better off the truth is we need rich people or made a work for for them to contribute to these great mercies shands eighties etc I can give 1025 bucks these people are in position to help and they do God bless them God bless the opportunity to rise to a position that I may be able to help this needs to be shown more often so people can realize it's not us and them it's a we
Doesn't mean you listen to the original means this is not good to hear for. We all have different taste in music. So i don't know why some of you still saying "I prefer the original because.." blah blah. We get it. Then don't listen to this version. No one told you so.
@@dizzle7558 because someone singing with auto tune requires no human talent or skill, musically. There are thousands of singers and musicians with tons of obvious beautiful skills. It’s an insult to be subjected to charlatans and scammers who pose as artists. That’s my opinion as someone who worked professionally in music, tv, education with amazing people. Just because someone can mumble a rhyme is fine with their fans but, there is no comparison to some of the incredibly talent I’ve experienced, both with worldwide fame and complete unknowns. Just one opinion.
Yeah about that……it was cool when Zapp did it in the 80s….T-Pain can actually sing without autotune. He won The Masked Singer one year. Akon can sing okay and Lil Wayne can rap but not necessarily sing.
This was a wonderful collaboration with the diversity of artists, but I prefer the original. WyClef John is from Haiti 🇭🇹 and he was leading the charge to raise money 💰 for Haiti.
i like this one as much as the first one. I don`t like seeing Barbra there tho.. she had the opportunity to attend the first one and opted out. I`m assuming she went with this one for the exposure it gives her, nothing more. And the original song, it sounded so GREAT.. that artists came together to raise money for the starving children in Africa. Us kids were told that.. and we showed up for that ideal! But in reality.. very little money actually went towards feeding the children. It went more to lining rich people`s pockets. They`re STILL STARVING in Africa. It`s just a scam. Rich people should NOT be asking poor people to solve the problems their economical priorities create. And why ya`ll keep falling for it just staggers me.. the st*pid. there are starving and trafficked children here at home that needs your time work and attention. Why everyone is just sitting online reacting to past work really does surprise me. That`s an extreme society. That can sit and play, while there`s so much suffering from children.. right under their noses, if they only looked up.
Actually several artists including Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Cher and Donna Summer and even Madonna who was red hot at the time were not invited to participate in the 1985 recording. Google it.

Lionel Richie is a judge on American Idol now for several seasons. H e is such a great person forsure
Should still be the anthem for the World ❤
The breakdown part of the song..cmon man. Impeccable. ..sincerely, an 80s child.
If you haven’t check out Band Aid 1984/Band Aid 20 (2004)/Band Aid 30 (2014). And also check out Artists for Grenfell (2017).
As great of an artist that Lionel Ritchie is, he's even a greater person.
I remember when the original came out and it was awesome. Hate to say this but I don’t remember this coming out, so thanks for sharing!
this ,dropped. . i wanna say 2010 during the opening days of the winter olympics coverage that year. . if im recalling correctly
React to the Spanish version of this song. It is amazing.
Great song. Lots of great artists.
When Celine Dion comes 🔥
You should also check out Clarksville, IN Elementary School's version of We are the World.
Have you listened to the uk song that started this whole charity song thing
Do They Know it's Christmas...
I think Lionel Richie is 75 yrs & such an awesome guy to gather the professionals for 'We are the World Haïti' ❤❤

Y'all should hear the band slade the song runaway
This was absolutely fabulous❤
Tito Jackson sons, Michael Jackson’s nephews was in the video singing along
i was 15 in 85 when Weare the word came out knew mostly everybody this one i don't know all of them only a few lol.
I have been to Haiti four times with concerned professionals. It’s an unbelievable troubled place with not many answers in sight.
👍💯
You need to listen to the Latin version it’s 10/10

the lyrics are terrible.. in that one. thank god THEY`RE the ones suffering, not them, personally. Ya.. listen to those lyrics.

Question, how is Haiti doing today?

Love the empathy and all, but Haiti is still... Haiti.

Love the rap in the middle. How cool is that! They did splice the parts of M. Jackson singing from the original for Africa.

From the 1st note that came from Justin's mouth I cringed.
That dude from the blackeyed.peas(I don't know his name) has an..interesting ...voice

Never knew they did a 're-make' of this song. But ya know what? It still gives me goosebumps as does the original rendition.

I just want the Nurse and her Daughter released from kidnappers!!
Auto tune? That’s insulting to every listener.
Why?!..

@@ed.z. Your grammar is awful but your point is valid..I agree💯
@ed.z. i'm sorry for you... but is obviously this version have production make up and autotune

These singers can give a billion dollars to these charities and ask us to send money. Insert eye roll
Lionel Richie is the greatest !!! My favorite
Another young artist that you might not recognise, but that’s Nipsey Hussle you know the rapper that passed away like a year or two ago
CELINE DION IS ON TOP THAN ALL OF THEM
This was a wonderful collaboration with the diversity of artists, but I prefer the original. WyClef John is from Haiti 🇭🇹 and he was leading the charge to raise money 💰 for Haiti.
Thats terrible compared to the original. 50 percent of those singers cant even sing in tune without autotune
please react we are the world from Indonesia artist
No one has a better voice than Jennifer Nettles(Sugarland) she was in the background. Sad,
That’s crap
This has nowhere near the talent that the ORIGINAL had. Good effort but I am not a fan of this one.
There are alot of talent in this one. They both are good
They just had to fucking ruin it by sticking rap in their didnt they?
i dont know if its just me or because im old school but i thought this horrivle pink and a few others were the only good ones but didnt like it
Love P!nk
That is the absolute worst version iv heard the original one is better
They totally ruined it with that hip hop crap👎
This one sucked

This is a pathetic attempt of current "stars^[ to recreate a very special 80's phenoninol event. Didn't work.
Boring reaction..
