If you watch DoinB's streams you will know that he's mostly just overreacting and joking. He usually trashtalke on his streams for entertainment purposes. Also they both are good players, but I kinda agree with the statement "Faker's reaction is not good as it used to be."
He is not wrong this is a point of view of someone at pro league who can flash that ult from oner in that river team fight. then what he said about faker not flashing or taking initiative during those time doinb said he wasnt using his flash is also true which will end the game in a much different way if he does that cause those iniative that faker failed to take result in a much longer game making their team at disadvantage position. not gonna lie i agree with doinb that last call from faker in last clash was actually the time he was useful which still really epic, from different point of since oner was always in point of his ult its like a mind game and faker literally making it look like he cant do a play it made jdg become way too soft

Not to mention that FPX was almost guaranteed to lose to SKT that year if they had run into them in bracket before G2 dispatched them. 2019 Worlds was all about conflicting styles and G2 had SKT's number, while SKT was beating all others according to scrim results. FPX got the best possible final opponent that year by dodging IG and SKT, while G2 eliminated the remaining Korean teams.

I think a lot of people are missing that tone isn't really translated well in these videos. He obviously does not seriously mean that faker is useless. If you watch more DoinB or just these asian streamers in general, you will see that they say these type of things that seem outlandish in English but its because the tone itself (banter, jokes, etc) isn't translated into the english. You think DoinB or these other pros spectating don't know that the shit faker is doing is hard to do? they'd know better than anyone else.

For this play, Faker is indeed useless because JDG's siege in mid and his positioning is a bit off as Ashe tries to zone him out. But well, Faker is Faker--making impossible things possible.

Not a single person expected that play from faker, not a single person is DOING it like faker. If you watch voice comms you’ll see that everyone on T1 looked silent and nervous, the game was legit a ticking time bomb for t1. Before the engage even happened faker states “I’ll toss them” and just asks his team to follow up before he engages. HES the reason one of the most mechanically skilled rosters of all time was defeated.

Speaking strictly of reacting to Oner's flash, it should have been well within their capabilities. People react-flash to enemies' flash all the time, in less time than this. Since they didn't manage to flash, it suggests they weren't ready for it - maybe they expected Oner's flash to be defensive (to dodge Ashe ult) and not aggressive, directly leading into the engage.
Because it's expected. Thaws why he said that. The moment oner flash that is the time they must react like guma in Ashe arrow and guma against ruler and 369 atrox in game 3, the reaction is expected.
If you hear the comms in t1 in the final game, Zeus apologizes to the team for being killed in a weird ganks. Because at the back stage when reviewing the game they must've known what they're going to do in those weird situations.
Put it simple this way, ashe and taliyah want to engage to kill the jungle, and they believe with this short distance its extremely hard for oner to react, u can see ashe doesnt ulti right away when oner got trapped, instead he fakes the animation to test oner. And when u thinking about engage to kill, would you flash away? Trust me, knight’s finger was on his E and Missing would put his finger on his W right after his R, and to explain furthermore, no one think a half health rell would engage there.

That oner flash W ult while dodging ashe arrow directly gives the enemy about 200~300ms to react and even the best human reflex time is higher than 300ms so this is not dodgeable, if it was just rell flash-w then they have more time to dodge but the ult with rell W pulls enemies airborne which then they cannot flash, and the airborne is triggered even before rell W actually lands at max range which is why she is so good
