Incorrect Woolie, Dolores Dei waged holy war across the world and was assassinated because her bodyguard didn't think she was human.

The translated novel from the main writer was posted on the internet few months ago and it provided some info about the world of DE. From this, people came up with an interesting theory that gets hinted at through the whole game: Dolores Dei was born with an ability to "listen" to the pale. She was using pale to get information from the future to change the present and get more power. That's why she knew there are other isolas behind the pale and her other knowledge. This created a loop that makes the pale expand more and more. She saw the end of the world and tried to save it by force "Emperor of Mankind" style, not realising that it was her own actions that accelerated the apocalypse.
@@DudokX Yeah S&TA sheds light on the idea of "magpies" who are essentially humans born with a special sensitivity to the Pale who are able to vastly and disproportionately advance humanity in culture, technology and ideology. "Stealing" this future information and turning it into "Novelty", with the toxic by product of novelty being extra pale expansion on Elysium.
It's now even more fucking Disco.
By the way, for those who haven't played the game, notice that it was *Pain Threshold* who brought up Dolores Dei. This will become relevant later.

The first time I went through the game I had heard some players call Encyclopedia a 'luxury stat', I didn't really get what they meant until this part where I realized all that Encyclopedia says throughout the game is to flesh out the game world but his hints are often too broad to be useful in the situation at hand.

9:35 Pain threshold is probably one of the least reliable advisors. After all it also likes to inflict pain on you, so it might direct you towards the wrong choices intentionally.
This game is an existential crisis and a small beacon of hope all wrapped in one, at once, simultaneously.
When I was a kid somebody who I knew my whole life to have a thick full beard shaved one day and I almost did not recognise them. Now that I am old enough to have a beard myself I am always surpried by what a difference it makes for me too the few times I do a clean shave.

I know that because, I remember in Mapoclops’ playthrough, when he checked his stats and saw he made a fascist choice somewhere, he was super confused and disappointed. I couldn’t tell what caused it as a viewer, either, so I did some wiki searching, and found that out

Where are people getting the impression there's a time limit? I've seen screenshots of endgame dialog with "day 17" on them. Eventually the last three dreams start looping, apparently, but other than that I've never seen anything like a bad end or any content that goes away after a certain day.
Kind of a ridiculous assumption when you think about it, time only advance through dialogue and reading content so he can't miss time he can just rush it by trying to solve the case and triggering no return point
