Nice fish dude 👍🏽
You near the dam above the park? Raised fly and spinner fishing right there. Just got in from Murray on my hobie lynx. Great day finesse fishing. 😊
Thank you so much for your videos. You have helped my son (14 yrs old) and I have one of the best day fishing ever. Went to the bottom of the damn today on our Kayaks and caught 2. First stripper he’s caught since he was about 5. It was 25”. I caught the second which was 30”. Your video help tremendously.
That’s amazing! I’m so glad they were able to help!
Crazy I fish the same ultralight rod but with a daiwa fuego.. but use the same plueger with a mega bass rod.
I have the same exact waiters as you.
If you want some real fun, go down to Riverfront Park on the Broad, a bit upstream from where the Saluda and the Broad converge. Start at the I-126 bridge and scout upstream towards the Broad River bridge. Bigger patches of water there will hold some pretty nice flathead catfish, which you can land at night on small bream, which I believe are permissible to use as live bait as long as you use them where you catch them. Bring heavy tackle, and make sure to use live bait; a big ball of nightcrawlers is not bad, or crayfish...cut bait will mostly get you stripers, channels, blues, and of course gar. It's a patience game, but the payoff is tremendous. There are some large flatties a few hundred yards north of I-126 I guarantee you. That area is teeming with life.
I can't wait to fish this water. Just have to figure out where I need to go to wade the water
Great video. I have been to the same spots a couple of years ago. I did managed to catch some nice largemouth along the banks on either side along with a pickerel, which I did not realize was in there. Got them on large glide baits. I am intrigued on the stripers. Are they in there year round or just during the runs (late spring thru end of summer)? Thanks.
They show up as early as March and end up leaving by late July. They breed particularly only in this water system in South Carolina which makes this water system unique. The rules on keeping them are posted all around so be aware of that. Catch and release all year round though, if you can find them.
And thank you for the support!
@@TheEricInman Thanks for the info. I know a lot about trout, smallmouth and largemouth but not too much on stripers. Great help.
Could use a whole herring for the big bass in the warm water pool. Just hook and leader, no weight
I’ve tried. Those fish have so many bait fish around they never seem to bite anything. In high school I caught a 5lber out of there and basically haven’t gotten them to bite since
Caught many large mouth in the warm pond , I’ve used live crawfish and artifish
Tighten the drag
I didn’t want it running away with my rod. Those rod holders are cheap
Just wondering if you keep trout?
I do sometimes. My wife isn’t a huge fan of eating trout or striper but I keep them for myself every once in a while. Most fish I release though. Main reason I kept that first striper was because the hook was so far in its belly.
@@TheEricInman very cool. Working on some content talking about the importance of releasing over 26”. I’m horrible about posting on RUclips. Or really any social media platform. Necessary evil lol
@@justinmcgrady9452 please do. I’m big on conservation when possible! I’ve subscribed
What did you use for bait?
Herring
@@TheEricInman Thanks, I was there last month and I didn't get anything. I will use your strategy
@@Nelsonaaguilar94 I catch them on artificial sometimes but cut bait is the best way to ensure you catch them
where on the saluda are you fishing
Lower saluda below lake Murray dam
where do you put in@@TheEricInman
