Thank you for your message we need more contractors like you now days get the money and run I love your pride and your work just run up on your videos I am hook now god bless you ❤
This was a great vid Sam! I really appreciate you letting me come out and learn and have some fun on a job site! Can’t wait to come back! Benton Tennessee is a beautiful place! Thank you brother!
Thanks Davin. Glad to have you here and a lot of fun those 3 days. Looking forward to seeing your video of the work. Will be interesting to see a different perspective of the same job site. Welcome here anytime... Thanks...
Don't be to hard on your help. You know what they say good help is hard to find and you can put, AMEN on that if you want to. You said seat time when you were learning. I had battery box time on a Cat D6C, when learning and got seat time when the operator ate dinner, then back to seat time for 10 hrs. a day. That was incentive enough to learn and get on seat time on something softer than a battery box. Good video and message.
Thanks James. I have spent many hours on an old metal tractor fender until I finally got to ride in the seat. I sure enjoyed riding with Papaw, for sure...
Thank you Brian and welcome to the channel. I'm glad you enjoy the message. Cool to know where you are from. Enjoy knowing where folks are watching from... God Bless, Sam
Davin didn't do too bad with the D5👏 roots and sticks in mud are a little rough. Backhoe mode instead of SAE doesn't work for me. I'm with you Sam. The job looks great 👍 As far as operating equipment is practice makes perfect. Thanks for the message 👍
Thanks John. Davin did a great job and caught on super fast with the dozer controls. He can have backhoe controls though, don't like those controls, yuk... Thanks, Sam
Sam I really enjoyed the message! Great video. You start him out pushing mud not dirt.😂 Everything I learned to operate I taught myself. I asked one of the old guys how to get better at running equipment once. He told me to keep my Butt in the seat. That's the best way to learn is seat time. I noticed that you didn't have Dozer out there showing him that right way to run the equipment. 😂 Be Safe Out There and Have A Blessed Day
Good to see Davin out and about. I’m in the same boat with backhoe configuration. It’s how I learned to operate and excavator configuration takes a day or so to get used to and then another minute when I go back to what I know. Thanks for the word Sam 👍🏼
Thanks Joey, it was a great time working with Davin and he did a nice job on the dozer. Yall can have backhoe controls! 😁🤪 That was so weird and don't even want to try again...🙄
Hi Sam, this was such an entertaining video today. I`ve been watching all your videos and cheering you on, but been too crook (sick) to write a comment. Nothing serious, just given some new medication with ghastly side effects. Should be recovered in another 4 to 6 weeks. This video and today`s message really cheered me up.
Good Morning Sam , Man I enjoyed watching this video. Davin Did a mighty fine job , It would be a hard sell making someone believe that was his first time running a Dozer 😄. I’m Looking forward to seeing the other videos.! I thoroughly enjoyed watching 👍🏻 Awesome Message , Keep on Brother its Working ! Take Care and Have a Great Week !!
Thanks Evert. Yeah, I'm with you. Maybe he rented one for a bit before coming down here! 😁 I was definitely impressed for having no seat time in a dozer...
Right, come on down! 😁 Well, I can't put it off any longer. I finally ripped a track on the 259D. So maintenance on the 259D and dozer coming up soon... Thanks, Sam
Sam, you owe it to yourself to get your rpms clocked and adjusted on the Mulcher. Would also help to get the pressure and gpm flow tested on the machine side for the Aux. Pressure for mulchers is just as important as GPM flow.
New subscriber to channel, I also sub to Idigit4 amazing young man and I truly enjoyed every minute of it thank you for sharing the word , God bless yah from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Thank you Daniel and welcome to the channel. I appreciate you subscribing to our channels. Davin is a great guy and has helped my little channel a lot. Glad you enjoyed the message, that is the best part... God Bless, Sam
Great message Sam. I really enjoyed the video. I know what it’s like to try and operate in backhoe mode and it’s terrible for us excavator pattern guys. The trick is switching your boom stick in your mind. The rest is the same. Heavier on the stick and lighter on the boom. But it’s still gonna be hard lol. I see you have an idler and tracks and looks like a corner cutting edge for the dozer!
Thanks. That backhoe mode is for the birds. Not gonna do it, don't like it, I quit!!! 🤪😃😁 Funny you mentioned my Bible holder there. I had to stack up some parts! 😁 Ripped the skid steer track today. So, the tracks and sprockets are finally going on. Got to make me some fancy track putter oners first...
@@tristardiggin awesome!! Get ya some made! You can push the idlers back with your excavator. But when I do it I cut a log and wedge it between the bucket and idler and curl the bucket in. You need to make some putter oners and I need to buy and excavator lol.
Lots of tricks when it comes to editing. When I watch videos I'm always looking for a new idea on camera placement or figuring out how the did a cool segment...
Thank you for sharing y'all operating in different modes. I own a backhoe for my electrical business and I struggle with the mode settings on rental equipment, for bigger jobs. I never knew that you could change the patterns. I will have to ask on the next rental unit. Love the comradery between the channels and the message of God's word. Also, I didn't realize how close we are in location, Greeneville, TN.
Yup, maybe the rentals can be switched too. We definitely had a lot of fun on camera and off camera. Right, we are fairly close by, Greeneville isn't to far about 2 hours....
The segment of both of you trying to operate the excavator in the opposite mode you're used to was hilarious. I first learned on a 4 stick backhoe, then I learned to operate a 763 Bobcat with a backhoe attachment which was a 2 stick machine in the backhoe mode. Then came a mini excavator which I naturally ran in backhoe mode since I was already used to that. I've probably got 15k hours in backhoe mode and one day, got on a JD with no ability to put it in backhoe mode. It looked like I had never even seen an excavator. I thought I was going to hurt someone (mainly myself). Lol. Good stuff Sam and Davin. Great message too.
Right, that part about the controls was funny. You would think a feller could figure it out but it was like you said, felt like I had never operated an excavator before. I learned on a 4 stick backhoe as well. Didn't run it a lot but that was what Papaw had. I actually still have it. Would be a cool project and video to get in running again and use it in a job. Glad you enjoyed the message... Thanks, Sam
I'm in the same boat with controls. I can run both, just a lot more efficient with the excavator mode (or SAE). You were very patient with him teaching how to run the dozer. It takes a special man to let a new operator burn fuel and hours watching someone else not be as efficient. I'm sure the next videos he is a lot better. I'm looking forward to you being the same way when I come down. lol. Great message as always. Everything we need to know on how to live our lives and treat others is between the leather.
Right, living between the leather is the only way to live. 😁 Glad you caught that! He did a great job and the next video or two will show how much he learned in a short time. Come on down for a visit, will do something. Not sure if you saw it but I put yalls pic in the video before this one...😁
Awesome video Sam. I believe Davin might have lied a little bit about time in the dozer 🤣 I bet it was nice to have an experienced operator helping out too.
Yeah, he must have rented one for a day or two before coming. 😁 It was cool to see two machines running at the same time. Haven't seen that before on one of my jobs, pretty cool...
Hi Sam, Hi Sam, it's fun watching you both work together. Really good message. I read your response to the man that says he is struggling with bitterness, you relaying what the pastor had said about instead of asking for it to be removed, that we should surrender it to God. Since my diagnosis with terminal cancer, i see how some of the people closest to me started acting different. Some not for the better. It has worn on me. Now i try and recognize that i have changed also. My wife is a big support. Anyway i don't want to write too much. When things have gotten tough in the past i used to just put my head down, pray for a better attitude, and work harder at what ever it was. But i got away from the surrendering myself wholly and completely. Thank you Sam. Your messages reach people. It's funny, i think the reason i remembered i was your 34th sub, was it was our great Walter Payton Chicago Bears. I just hope i remembered the correct # sub, and not creating a good story. That is some nasty ole gumbo isn't it? I can see that once it settles a bit with all those roots in it that it will be a bear to push with that D5 when it's wet. I am with you on the excavator controls. I have watched operators that can go back and forth no problem. These are the same guys who are artists. They are just dead on when digging or moving dirt. I have a question for you, at 25.42 the dozer starte hopping a little. Why? In that wet soil it surprized me. Was the right track skipping on a big toot or something? I have never worked in your conditions so am a bit confused about it. Thank you two for this. Have fun and be safe.
Right, that stuff was nasty to deal with, yuk. As far as excavator controls, my hat is off to anyone that can efficiently run both ways. Wow! That was weird for sure. I went back to 25 42 and didn't see that. I was talking about grade at that part. But just after that I saw the dozer spin both tracks. Is that what you were referring too? Thanks, Sam
Yes, from the position of the camera it looked like the it took to hopping just a little. I have done it before hitting rock and the front of the track was bouncing on the grouser as it tried to climb up the rock but the load on it wouldn't allow. Changed position and took it on down the way. It just looked different from the blade shake to clear. I hope that makes sense. Thank you again kind Sir. Be safe.
