Ange changed two things. 1. Faster counter 2. Son was getting involved in the center of the field more often. I would not call it masterclass, but it was better than previous matches.
Gaffer also made defensive subs, not necessarily changing the game plan, but capable of shutting shop when required. This is the flexibility Ange will never allude to, but will implement.
It was more than just a tweak. It was a fundamental change by Ange. Porro and Udogie playing as wing backs not inverted full backs. They both played really well. But more importantly Son and Johnson were able to play inside our full backs rather than being stuck out wide where neither had been impacting previous games. And of course Maddison had more space to operate in a conventional system and no coincidence that this was his best game for months. Credit to Ange. That change he made gave me renewed hope and not just because we won. Hope he sticks to it .
Sonny could have got 2 more assist if he pass to Solanke. 1st one where he shoot straight to the keeper instead of pass to Solanke who is open in the middle right infront of goal. 2nd one where he pass to Brennan on his right, instead of to Solanke to his left (back heel maybe), who is unmarked. Players should do better to find Solanke. He's so good looking for space.
It was probably just the same game plan, but who has a plan B, city didn't yesterday and they're probably the best team in the world over the last 5 years. But then you have people saying against arsenal all they did was lump it in the box 🤷 I mean that would be a plan B One thing I've noticed this year is madders playing deeper, probably giving us more control in games, despite results we've definitely controlled games better than last season

Ange played Udogie and Porro as wing backs instead of inverted fullbacks, like he usually does, this allowed Sonny and Brennan to play inside the fullbacks, more narrowly where they're were more effective than when they're hugging the touch line. This also allowed Madders alot of space to operate in, creating a lot of chances with his pinpoint passing and dribbling. Clearly a lot was done tactically, so I disagree with the notion of doing plan A better. Ange is adaptable, but before he can tweak his tactics, he needs to ensure that his philosophy of playing is drilled into his players before any modification's to his style of play. Let's be patient, success will come, anything worth having takes time.
Ange has to have a talk eith Vicario! He is a good shot stopper but risky playing out. He must be told,safety first ! Kicking long to the wings at times is a good option. Learn from Alison at Liverpool .
I think the start of last season really set us up for disappointment. Being out of the title race early isn't good but it does allow the manager to focus on Europa league and hopefully get us a trophy and a place in next year's CL through that or top 4. I think a return to CL will really help the beleif in the team and push the manager to request at least 1 top signing over the summer
No reputable manager will join until the club redeems itself by giving Ange a fair chance in the form of at least three years barring relegation. Why? What is the recent history. Three transfer windows with zero buys, sacked. Days before a cup final, sacked. Less than six months on, sacked. Only one and a half year on, manager calls out entire club for lack of ambition, sacked. Turned down by best available managers, e.g., Nagelsmann, Slot. That is how we ended up with Ange.

Just wondering with this win how long will it shut the doughters up I've seen so many fans calling for anjes head after just 4 games saying anjes never changes no plan b well you seen it yesterday if those fans calling for anje to get sacked if they just put there negative energy into actualy supporting the manager and players and the club it would be far more positive we are not going to win every game or play fantastic every game but anje will get us there I love the way we play it wasn't that long ago under conti and murinio we were playing the most horrible football and the fans hated it and them 2 managers diddent even care about the fans or club anje has came in and in just 1 season got rid of all the players who weren't good enough and brought in some fantastic young talent for now and the future we have to be patient and give this manager time ffs 1 season and the difference is nite and day so I ask the supporters who call for anges head to be patient and back him and we will start to win tropies and Challacombe the bug thropies

i think it shows possession is not always the key factor.we are better using the quick transition instead of passing square and back all the time.
