I thought you were going to tell us WHY they bought Red Hat. How about virtually all enterprise computing is going to the cloud. Realizing that Microsoft sabotaged local and network enterprise computing with Windows 10, this is their chance to get back into the game, with every PC and terminal using Red Hat as the interface. It's a long term strategy that will ultimately pay off because with so much chaos in the MS ecosystem, businesses will be looking for the kind of stability only a company like IBM can provide.
