As a Derby fan, I like we still have the iconic Ram, that we had since the Brian Clough years. For a time in the 80s it was displayed the wrong way round. Though today I do miss the banner underneath.

As a QPR fan, the old badge was the apex of an error in judgment by the Club. The ownership at the time tried to make us too posh for our own good.

Middlesbrough badge classic and simple, beautiful. Hull city and Millwall possibly designed by a twelve or thirteen year old.

Wednesday's new badge is actually from the 50's, I don't mind it but my favourite Wednesday badge is the iconic Owl from the70's, it is shown on the shield which ruins it for me, it is much better on it's own, without the shield, and was designed cleverly by merging half an 'S' into half a 'W'

Burnley’s “ new” badge is actually the old badge from the 60’s. But I really dislike the monochrome version.

Defo correct about the boro badge! I don't mind the new one and I'm fairly used to it now but the old one was definitely better and reminds me of the best times being a boro fan.

I loved the unicorns, but like gt3nb said we’ve always been the Robins - would’ve much preferred it to just be the Robin logo from the middle of the circle though, maybe with the Suspension Bridge behind in some way tii

I think Millwall and Oxford have such a strong design shape that they should follow in Derby’s footsteps and just have the animal with no text or borders

As a Bristol City fan, we wanted the Robin back for a very, very long time. It’s not the form everyone would choose but me personally I’m a huge fan of it.
It just represents us. It’s what we are. It’s our identity. It says ‘Bristol City’ more than a council badge. We’re the Robins, not the Unicorns.

    • @joetwodogs
      @joetwodogs 3 месяца назад

Personally I think the new robin is a bit lacklustre and a ‘safe’ design choice. A few years ago our away kit had the classic robin and suspension bridge design and it worked so well. Don’t mind a modern redesign, but I think they could have done better

sorry, but that "old" QPR badge was an aberration. we only had it for about 4 seasons, it was introduced by Briatore during his "boutique club" era, and every single one of us fans hated it. The new one, is, as you say, a throwback to the one we had before the Briatore vomit, and is massively preferable.

As a Wednesday fan, I loved the old one. It was iconic and stood out.
The new one (or very old one) was just like dozens of other badges. Nothing wrong with it, just boring.

I do like the old Leeds badge, but I think the yellow on the new one really stands out on the shirt. I think there’s a chance for them to bring back the old design but with a few colour changes - that would look sick

The star and crescent of Portsmouth was the club emblem up until the 80's when it was a dagger with an anchor and a football. Liked that one, but the modern star and crescent is good, sharp and uncluttered. The worst badges are the ones with too much random shite crammed in. Just look a mess.

  • @keithhancox2420

2 seasons back WBA did away with the badge entirely, and rocked a full retro italic style WBA, a la Cyril Regis days. I really like that style.

  • @ImShinndog

Sometimes you look at new badges and think, who let the diverse hire loose on this, there are some truly awful ones - I do understand why some that had crests instead of badges that really had to change at some point

The ox you see on the oxford utd badge today was created by
The famous zoologist and ethologist Desmond Morris, when he was the vice chairman of the club.
It's was created in a style that of a Minoan bull’s head.
We've had it on every badge and also on its own since it's creation,
it's such an iconic symbol that's attached to the club.
that it will be near impossible to replicate such a logo or replace it.

They had to change it for copy right reasons as it's the logo of the City Council. The Butt hole and the Banana have been a symbol of Portsmouth for a long time. Portsmouth did though have a totally different badge in the 1980s.
