    Simply stunning! Never seen anything as authentic or nostalgic.

    This is exactly the kind of Metroland I am aiming for (though I doubt it'd be this stunning). Bravo all!

    Whether the doors open or not, this is a beautifully made layout. London Transport is Dead; Long Live London Transport, the people's public system!!! Down with so-called Public-Private Partnerships; a pox on the globalizers! thanks for doing such a grest job.

    @amtrc - London Underground actually has four rails - two running rails, the live supply rail outside the running rails (left or right side), and the return conductor rail in the middle. The modeller has replicated this in miniature.

    I swear I remember watching this on a Model Railway DVD. Sadly the description doesn't mention anything about the origins of this video.

    @Oscarell - HO scale is 1:87, OO scale is 1:76.2. Track gauge for both is 16.5mm.
    HO model would be 7/8 the size of a OO model of the same item.

  • @JBofBrisbane

    @MCTurbostar - what?!? HO and OO are both 16.5mm gauge - usually both Code 100 rail (0.100" tall). Sure the scale of the rollingstock is larger in OO, but the rails aren't unless you're going down to Code 83 or 70.

    Everything is great but where is the day model trains will move more realistically? This is one of the best I've seen (this was uploaded 2006!) although I know things are getting better for stopping and starting trains.

  • @LikeMindedIncident
    @LikeMindedIncident 13 лет назад

    @JBofBrisbane - Interesting, haven't touched model railways for a couple of years but have a few Bachmann models which are definitely closer to the mark. Was even thinking of mods with lower powered motors or something, because even at full controller power it would be an equivalent to 200+mph! It's just not real. Also with starting you may get a stutter or two (need a better controller tbh).
    Something to work on anyhow. Flywheels (which Bachs have already?) seems a good tip.
    Cheers

    i disagree they look like the kits from harrow model shop made from white metal and are very fiddley to make sadly the model shop in harrow is now close down so i dont know where to get them from

  • @JBofBrisbane
    @JBofBrisbane 13 лет назад

    @LikeMindedIncident - you need to look at American models - flywheels make the difference.
