In England the phesant rearing I have seen shows the birds being released younger. Maybe there is more fallow land and better predator control so the birds get wilder. Also in England they do not do what they refer to as rough hunting or walk up shooting. Almost everything is driven birds and pass shooting.
Wisconsin is a ruffed grouse/woodcock state....hunting birds coming out of pen is for guys with labs. You want to hunt pheasants head west. The key to hunting pheasant is Wisconsin is to know the bird release truck schedule. :/
Try McFarlane's Pheasants. They sell em online. And I think most states require a permit to breed and even keep these birds. There is also license neede from USA Government to import to your country.

This is so wrong and the people who have to go to field to hunt these birds that were just put there are not hunters and never be in the category of a real hunter! Real hunters go out in field where have no idea if anything in there and sometimes there are zero and sometimes thousands but true hunters hunt real Wild upland pheasants not trapped and placed pheasants!!!! Hunters pay for license so DNR can stock for pheasant hunters... How about buying and raising some 14 point bucks and turning them loose for hunters?

Seems like they could be gathered in a better and safer way. The corral was good but they be loaded in a bettwr manner.
