In February 1968, the Beatles travelled to Rishikesh in northern India to take part in a Transcendental Meditation (TM) training course at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The visit followed the group's denunciation of drugs in favour of TM and received widespread media attention. The band's interest in the Maharishi's teachings was led by George Harrison's commitment, and it changed Western attitudes about Indian spirituality and encouraged the study of Transcendental Meditation. The visit was also the most productive period for the Beatles' songwriting.
Pretty ironic that since then TM has literally been scientifically proven to actually be pretty harmful by causing severe anxiety at the very least of the problems it causes.
@@maxxor-overworldhero6730 Just the opposite, actually. It's been _scientifically_ shown to have positive effects on anxiety, PTSD, and Alzheimer's. It's been _anecdotally_ shown to have negative effects (ranging from anxiety and depression to seizures and heightened schizophrenia symptoms) in a certain portion of the populace - typically those who had major baggage or undiagnosed dysfunctions already, which TM can exacerbate. The takeaway is not 'TM is harmful.' but rather 'TM can potentially have harmful side-effects and you should do your research before going all-in about it' which is just true of damn near anything.
Going to India influenced The Beatles and their music. George Harrison more so than the others. George learned to play the sitar and delved into Eastern religions, especially Hinduism, Indian philosophy, culture, and music. He later became a Hare Krishna. As for India "ruining" Beatles music, to me, it just added richness to Beatle songs. 😺
Well Adam as far as I'm concerned you should receive an award for most failed TNTL challenges LOL! Not to worry ur still cool even if you lose and laugh. You should try a best of 3 or 5 TNTL challenge. Sometimes those can be even harder trying not to laugh for the 3rd or 5th time. Great reaction though keep it up.
I wouldn't say that it ruined their music there were several good songs from it. But most of them were pretentious a****** George Harrison was the only one who took it seriously and actually began studying Hindu. The rest of them just like getting really high on acid and pretending that they're meditating
@highviewbarbell No I don't ringo and Paul were both just like him never taking Hindu seriously and it was just an excuse for them to get high And pretend like it was about something more. In fact, The song Let it be was written because Paul was ashamed Of all the drug use and came from something his mother told him when he was talking to her about it.
@@Leviticus_Prime well i definitely agree with them just wanting to be high all the time but i don't think they should have taken Hinduism seriously either.
Dissecting fetal pigs is a thing in the U.S, it’s usually in a high school biology class or a class in a related field. Pigs are anatomically close to a human so it teaches kids about the organs and how the body works.
You had my like within 2 seconds...theeen you had me a little worried at 15 XD Also the dissecting the pig thing, in middle school, we actually had a baby sheep that we dissected. It was a bit sad but it certainly made us remember lol
1:45 Well, The Beatles and Rolling Stones, etc. jumped off the blues bandwagon and onto the Hindu bandwagon - absurdly thinking there was some greater substance in eastern religion than what existed in the Christianity with which they had been raised - at some point in the mid to late '60s.
11:42 "...there's no way that's real..." were you talking about them dissecting a pig? in the secondary schools of the USA they dissect all sorts of animals starting from simple animals like a worm and then gradually working their way to more complex animals. the animals will depend on the region, but in the middle region of the country it's common to dissect up to fetal pigs and cows.
@@TheNativeEngine We dissected a worm, clam, crayfish, and frog. Those that had the more advanced biology classes had to also dissect a cat, pig, and cow.
Would you ever react to South Park episodes rather than clip compilations? Dash Reacts does this, you can show up to 10 mins of the episode I believe. So many great episodes you could react to

the black guy wearing all white reminds me of that time i was on the bus to town, and this black guy walks in to the bus, and, no fucking kidding, wore all white. white hat, white jacket, white pants, white shoes...it was just weirdly funny to me. :)
Also, those guys kinda dance-shuffling around in a circle around one another? They went to India to do that yoga crap and then didn't produce anything good, though Lennon had (Imagine) and Paul produced some good music after he left.

I prefer the later Beatles.
Hahaha
Acutally later thei music chages a lot,in a good way in my opinion, i dont know why some hate them for that
