Thx for putting in all this effort so that we become more enlightened as a community. You are adding indelible value to the entire planet; and by extension, my own tiny world.
I had that yellowing issue growing in my potted plants. I was already going to add worm castings, but Part 1 and 2 of this series made it clear I was on the right track. Thank you! 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Very in depth and detailed comments on your test of the plants. I did a similar test several years ago with 2 salvia plants and everything the same on both plants except one plant had 20% worm castings which I develop at my home. after 2 months the striking difference was the castings plant was twice as large but more impressive was how much bigger the leaves were. As we know casting work like a time release so each time you water more is released to the plant. On that note all castings are not the same and those that claim that they produce 100% casting makes me laugh.
Love your videos, love earth worm castings, but i suddenly thought if someone who doesn't know what your doing watched this video they might just think you suck at growing tomato's. lol paused at 10:10 Just a joke. Subbed
@@FC2ESWS it would probably have a lot of nitrogen to begin with. Worm castings contain certain microbes that Cow manure would not. It’s more closely related to dirt and compost than straight manure.
Thanks, you’ve tried a few different batches of nutrients. Which nute in your opinion has been more consistent, maxi series or the flora trio? I’ve tried quite a few myself and I’m starting to truly believe GH really makes the best and simplest for all various types of grows and variety of garden plants
Dynagro grow and bloom 1 part liquids are top notch. I use gh flora atm but dynagro is atleast twice as concentrated. Priced right too. Maxi is top notch 1 part dry nutrients though too.
Do you have a hypothesis that explains the difference? Since NPK is the same, maybe there is more calcium in the castings? Or some other trace element that's important for growth? Like you, I was surprised by these results, but maybe it just reinforces how looking just at NPK is insufficient. If you have any ideas, let us know! Thanks for putting in the work for our benefit! :)
It was actually on the edge of not watering enough. Because if I skipped a day or two they would start to dry out very quickly and begin to wilt. Those are net pots covered with socks.
A better mix would be 0.75 potting mix and 0.25 casting. The live parts of the worm compost is what makes it so good. I do not think much air gets in through the plastic bag. You need to get a better supplier. Worm casting is NOT to be used this way. Captain Matt on RUclips explains and does it better than you do.

This is fascinating watching Part 2. Excellent work! 👊🏻💥👊🏻

Love these comparison videos.
The aeration from the soil makes easier for roots to grow allowing left to get bigger faster

Great video!
One thing I don't understand is if plant food has NPK, calcium, magnesium zinc etc, what exactly is the earthworm castings adding?
microbes to create usable nutrients organically
@@GrowingAnswers Wouldn't compost like Black Cow do the same then?
@@FC2ESWS it would probably have a lot of nitrogen to begin with. Worm castings contain certain microbes that Cow manure would not. It’s more closely related to dirt and compost than straight manure.
What if you used one pot potting soil and one pot half potting soil and half castings? Since it’s too difficult to water castings alone.
You missed that in the last 2 videos, Bunn. Merm.

The maxiseries is easiest. And because it’s simple it’s easy to be consistent

use worm castings and poting soil mix, organic let the plants stronger
You're a fucking legend mate. Love from New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤
So your summary is.."earthworm castings do something "
Lol yep
Seems like you may be watering too much...
Looks like he should pre soak his seeds to me...
