At last, somebody who concentrates on showing you how Logic works, instead of someone showing you how clever they are because they can use Logic, big difference. Thank you, Thomas, thank you.
As a beginner with DAWs, LP, and Sampler, this was the clearest, most useful short tutorial I've found. Thank you! I just purchased LP 10.7 today, so I'm ready to learn as much as possible. If you ever decide to offer in-depth classes (such as on Udemy) on Sampler, mixing, etc., I'm sure you'd have lots of paying students. I'd be one of them. Thanks!
This is an amazing tutorial: super informative, to the point, professionally presented, and SOOTHING with the German accent! Subscribed and sincerely appreciated!
Thomas, you are awesome! Love & learned a lot from you very detailed explanation! Would you show us more about the Modulations and MOD Matrix (interaction) on String instruments to drum kit? Can't wait 🤩
So, is this new sampler a replacement of ESX24? Because every other old tutorial I see used ESX24 but I can’t find it on logic pro, but I can find the sampler used in this tutorial? Great tutorial by the way, very helpful👍🏽.
Question on Velocities: I have a sample 4 octaves of note pitch with 4 different Velocities per note. How Will logic understand this? What do you suggest when it comes to loading them into the sampler?? ( I may start by grouping them by velocity range). Trying to make the loading and programming less tedious and time consuming. Thanks for this Thomas! Very Good, I'm really beginning to understand this sampler and how the synthesizer is integrated with it. Makes sampling more useful and not as tedious when we can drag and drop!
I have a problem I can't figure out. I'm trying to make the sampler use only ONE of the zones from the different zones assigned to the same key on a Latin Percussion kit. I've tried everything I could to make it play only one of the zones but it keeps cycling through the different zones automatically and I can't figure out how to stop/modify this. It's the Stomps in the kit and I only like Stomp Copy 7 but every time I hit the key, it cycles to the different zones of the audio file. How can I modify this to only play Stomp Copy 7 zone? EDIT: Knowing this information will also help me know how to setup up the automatic cycling in case I also want to create a sampler instrument where one key triggers several different zones of an audio file.
Can you make a video about how to use this sampler to slice up drums from a drum break, and then make it in to a drum kit in the drum Maschine designer? Pleeeeeeeaaaaassss
does the analysis also work for foreign samples? (like a odlschool song) I am confused how to combine such samples with my own melodies in order to not loose the key and get something inharmonic
hi Thomas. thankyou for an excellent tutorial over here! i have a question: within the multi sampler can you also give separate Adsr values per zone? it now only seems to be for all zones as far as i can see. so please advice. thanks. Stephen
is there a way to save this envelope settings as profile and transfer them to other instruments? I guess things like this are the real nightmare developers like Spitfire do not want you to know... I finally got my FREE violin vibrato alone, without limit of expression
Thanks, great video, subscribed. I was messing about with it yesterday. it’s really awesome. I’ve pulled a bassloop in and it fitted the song in tempo but on a key that wasn’t in the right pich. (not the root key) So to be in tempo I had to go down 4semitones but then the pitch obviously wasn’t right. Can you tell me how to change the pitch and keep that particular tempo? I don’t know if it makes any sense 😆
I kinda worked it out. recorded the midi with the key where the tempo was right and bounced it to audio and then pulled that into the sampler and clicked the follow tempo so the tempo is right on every key now.
I have a question about the logic sampler: I noticed that in sampler there can be several groups on ONE note! for example: if you drag the live loop „Isabela - Pop Tumbao“ on a track, Logic creates a sampler-track with a drummer region. if you convert this region to a midi region, you see that it contains only 2 notes (Conga Bright High on D3 and Conga Bright Low on D#3). but if you open the Sampler plugin, you can see that there are actually several groups on the same note: for example on D3 there are several „articulation“-groups (like opentone, closeslap or fingertip) beeing trigered by only one midi note D3 (if you click on different notes in piano-roll editor, you can see the groups change in Samplers mapping view). my question is: how do you control which group is triggered? if I want to program my on pattern in the piano-roll, or any other way, how I can control which group is beeing triggered, like opentone, closeslap, fingertip or so… it´s not via velosity, nor could I find something in the event editor. maybe you or someone else here can help me - would be great
Does the velocity work straight away with any audio samples I drop into the sampler. For example, if I drop a snare into the sampler, will it automatically recognise velocity without me having to map it like on the EXS24?
Hey people I need a little bit of help with this new 10.5 version. Lets just say I place a synth instrument like Sylenth or ES1. I record and play a midi pattern in the timeline and I want to change a preset in the sorftware instrument, and every time It loops arround the preset goes to the original preset instrument I had before. Like I want to change it from a bass to a lead, and once it loops it trows me back to the base. Help please!
This is the best Tutorial on the Logic Sampler 2 😊
This is the future of music production. Thank you apple for this update on Logic Pro, thank you Thomas foster this great tutorial.
This is the only tutorial I have found which clearly explains all setting on the Logic sampler - thanks!
Great Logic 10.5 Tutorial, easy to understand
You are a lifesaver! Before I understood this new sampler I was praying to get EXS24 back but now I realise how much better this one is.
At last, somebody who concentrates on showing you how Logic works, instead of someone showing you how clever they are because they can use Logic, big difference. Thank you, Thomas, thank you.
Agreed. The other ones I’ve seen presume that everyone using logic is already a master producer
I love the new Sampler Logic 10.5, it´s so much fun!
They made a great update on Logic Pro. I am so happy :)
This is awesome. Not only did you explain the Sampler, but also answered some questions I had about basic ADSR. Subscribed.
You are the best! Your language is quiet and suitable for learning ! I am very impressed! Thanks a lot!
Excellent thanks. Use Pro Tools most of the time, so when coming back to LPX after a couple of years this video provided a great resource. Thank you.

Thanks! This was really helpful to watch before applying the Sampler to my current project. Appreciate the tutorial.
Vielen Dank für ein hervorragendes Tutorial!
Zone per file now that is what I need. Thanks for sharing your insight.
This is definitely the best tutorial I've come across so far for the sampler. Everything else has been hella confusing
This is excellent to get you started with Sampler. Thanks
I'm learning Logic from scratch and this is a wonderful tutorial, Thomas. Thank you so much.

Can you make a video on the new step sequencer of logic 10.5?
That would be great. They made big changes in logic 10.5 with the step sequencer.
Nice Thomas

Hey great video! When you slice, can you alter the pitch and tempo of all of the slices at the same time?
Thank you, New Subscriber here.
Can you make video on how to use it the Mod Matrix, to control the midi keyboard controller etc.
Very Interesting..What about Automation in Live loops ..?

Wow, can be used to create harmonies!
Hi thanks for the great tutorial, can anyone tell me how to activate legato mode in the new logic sampler?
Riverside Productionz yooo I miss legato too to do glides/slides

How do you save samples to a sample library? (Like how you could in EXS24)
Wenn ich ein Sampler Instrument mit einer 24bit aif speichere, wird es mit einer 16bit aif gespeichert. Kann man das ändern?
I love you
Does EXS24 still exist or is it completely replaced and deleted?
It is replaced, But old files exs24 to open in the new sampler
How to send a sample to midi ?
do you teach logic one on one
b reed
Sorry, I don’t give single workshops!
untagged loops not sync with the project reading in realtime
what language is that???
i wont update until Native Instruments Massive X etc is compatible
I liked and subd by the way great videos. Is nexus 3 compatible with 10,15
