Awesome video Dime digger i could watch these video's all day. I'm impressed at what you can do with that machine your very skilled at what your doing. Thanks for showing us Stay safe my friend and have a great day!
Hey Dime Digger. North Country said to come over and see who had the best tree cutting equipment. Let's see, you can sit in yours and even have a beverage holder. You WIN!!
Awesome machine Digger we those down here on huge tracks also. Like a marsh buggy. Lots of swampy areas where a machine like yours can't go. A lot of stuff down here on marsh tracks..... There's a company not far from me that builds those units...
Cajun Coin Hunter that’s the great thing with the processor I put all the brush in front of me so I can run on it when it’s a wet area. I use to like watching the swamp logger show that use to be on TV.
That’s a ton of wood that I’m sure can be used for many things. We never really think of where the wood comes from or how long it takes for it to be harvested. Thanks for sharing
I was at the Loggers Expo yesterday- lots of talk on how to protect the measuring wheel from getting hammered up. Curious on what you do, if anything. Some have a setting to keep it retracted unless they need it. Others have diverter valves to keep it in until the wheels close.
I have broke the wheel off about 3 times in 8 or 9 years and it’s when you reverse on a log that has a big knot or sheared off limb that catches it. Mine comes out when the wheels close. Quite honestly they are built pretty damn well and can take a lot of abuse.
I usually always run 90 drivers on my logmax, even on the 6000, seems like the longer the bar the more flex they have off the stump they seem to be more forgiving as far as not bending and staying bent,
lumberjack lumberjack nice I have been running that bar all week and it is holding up good so far. I have the longer one yet to try too. Maybe next week I will throw it on to test it out.
@@DimeDigger hello, I have run the 96 driver on mine also, I find it hits the sawbox on the back stroke from the wiggle, especially if you run the tops through and cut them in half, have fun
Real cool to watch. Is that a switch from a “20 to a “24? What size saw blade does that use? Unless you got mega massive hands it don’t look too excessive. My buddy here uses a ridiculous stihl 25” 🤣 thing eats everything it’s crazy. You just after the blow downs and rotten? Or what you after? You reseed? Pretty cool to watch bro. Thanks for sharing
Kevin Rose this job is mainly blowdowns but we do mostly select cuts here. Take the junky wood and logs out and let the nice trees reseed the forest. Once the regeneration gets a couple feet high we take the rest out.
That’s cool as hell Man. Basically helping the ecosystem. Awesome. And dude you got big ol hand bro 🤣 that seriously looks like a smaller blade in the video. Cool though bro. Thanks for sharing
That makes cutting down trees look easy ! Well easier than holding a saw and doing it. Do you ever metal detect while out there ? What kind of wild life do you encounter? Any bears ? I suppose the loud machine scares of all wild life ? Thanks for sharing, pretty cool :-)
Chocolate Cherry Coins I see lots of deer and turkeys. A bear once in a great while and maybe 2 coyotes since I have been doing it. I actually do detect on some of the jobs if I get time to. I have found lots of axe heads, some old crosscut saws, steel wedges, lots of bullets and some misc stuff. Using the machines sure does make it safer out here. I still have to use the chainsaw once in awhile but only on the really big trees.
@@DimeDigger I think it is a pretty cool job to have, being out there in the woods and seeing animals sometimes. I hope your cabin or what ever they call it, I hope it is heated when it is cold. Just went to detect my favorite park and there were guys in there doing exactly what you do. I will go back again today and see if they are done !
Thank you for taking the time to make this. I’m just starting in a LogMax 6000 ( 13 years on a Rottne head) I’m told a lot of operators don’t use the auto close on the knives. What do you do? Ya or Na?
I’m not sure what you mean with auto close. My left hand trigger is set up to open knives and wheels and close them. Once I fell a tree the top knife sensor tells the knives to pulse open or close tighter as the tree shoots through. The tightness of the knives can be adjusted to prevent excessive wheel spin say if you switch between soft or hardwood. Not sure if I answered your question but have fun out there and stay safe.
@@DimeDigger Yes- thank you Some operators don’t use the top knife sensor. They just keep touching the knife close button. Supposed to be easier for crooked stems to go through. Yours seems do just fine.
@@LGTrees Roger that. On the crooked ones I have my top right hand button set up for all knives pulse open. I hit that right before it gets to the crooks and usually you can get right around them. We cut some pretty crappy hardwood at times so you use that button a lot 👍🏻
Hey DD, what types of trees are you cutting down? Just out of curiosity. Maybe you can send me a finished chair from the logs in my next package! Lol!!! Interesting video you got here!
I love it when you post videos of this machine working. Its so cool that your job has you in the woods daily. I love the woods. Great video DD.
I could watch this all day
I am actually on a new job now and finally outta the blow downs so I will try to get some footage this week felling the trees too.
Dime Digger Yes sir. Keep em coming.
The machine you're working with is quite impressive. That was the first time I've ever seen one. Truly incredible and you are quite skilled at it.
Thanks for watching Susan and yes these machines are quite impressive. It is amazing how quick you can process trees with them.
Another Amazing video. Thank u for explaining how u cut the trees and the lengths u cut them at!
Mike Wolff 👍 thanks for watching a buddy.
Sweet could watch that all day long

Todd Miller it’s just like playing a video game. Thanks for the kind words!
Pretty cool toy there. Thanks for sharing brother.
Awesome video Dime Digger. Really enjoy watching these.
Bill J version 2 thanks for watching. I will have stickers out tomorrow. My service is sketchy at work now so I keep missing the stream. 😡
Pretty cool to watch! Thanks for sharing!
You’re pretty good with that thing!!👍🏻👍🏻
It’s just a big video game.

Montana Wood Whittler thanks! I definitely would rather be in the cab for sure.

The longer bar works great! 🌲🌳❤💕
Pretty awesome machine man.
pretty cool just love that tree terminator!

Clinton S yes next time you wipe your butt just think I may have cut the tree that made that TP. 🤔

@@DimeDigger Thank you! Good point- I could easily see that happening
Great video my friend. I’m anxiously awaiting those coins I got 👍😁
I sent everything out Monday so hopefully tomorrow? Thanks for watching!
Dime Digger I got them. Yay 😀
I have never seen anything like that before. Very good video and it all went well. ATB ~ Shirl
That Logmax is a beast!! ✌
is that all old growth? about 200 years you think?
LemonHead_Penny probably 80-100 years old. PA was pretty much stripped in the 20’s and 30’s so there are very few trees older than 100.

I used to have the same problem on the 6000 head. The slot in the bars would spread where it sits on the holder and I would have that happen.

Kevin Rose that bar is 35” long I just jumped out to measure it. Honestly I thought it was only 27 or so. Bigger than I thought.

Black cherry mostly on this job...some soft maple. I wish I was that creative. I do have end tables in my house that used to be stumps lol.
Dime Digger lol stumpy tables 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still In Circ I will have to send ya a pic of them they are sweet.
Dime Digger I would love to see it!
Fascinating Cool Insight
Ooooof by hand?? Not literally i hope, thats some hard work! Power tools and hydraulics FTW
Thanks for sharing, i used to love that show, how its made. Cya around DD, keep up the great work!
John Smith yeah I guess I should rephrase that. With a chainsaw in my hands 😁
Chad sent us to your video to tell you he cut better. Lol
Super interesting video though!
Chad is a awesome fella but he better move quicker if he wants to keep up to me. LOL
Dime Digger - Lol! Right?!?
