- A feel good montage of our experience shooting "Who is Limon?"
Unfortunately we had our entire first and second days BTS card corrupt on us. So we had to scramble and were able to still pull some great footage.
If you are interested I will be explaining a little more about the entire process below.....
My name is Stephen Rawding, I am a 24 year old Film Maker from San Diego California. I am currently fathering my beautiful daughter Naia down in Oaxaca Mexico, with my amazing girlfriend Vanezza.
First and foremost we were stoked to have captured some really great audio with our Rode mics. We used the Video Mic-go and the Video Micro. Unfortunately our budget was slightly low (really low) and this is what we could afford. But wow! This actually gave us a lot of artistic direction when entering the sound bay. We could hear anything from a dog to a parrot in some cases. Powerful Tools! And super stoked to now have a couple Rode Mic's in the arsenal!
The two songs you hear in this BTS film, are two original songs created for the film. Which was completely Sound Scored by Jack Diederich, Matt Hall, and Aj Barron. It was an amazing collaboration. And the best part was it was completely done remotely. I am currently living in Puerto Escondido Oaxaca, Mexico and they are a San Diego Based Band! Stoked to have some amazing, and talented friends. As Many of you know, at the end of the day all that matters is what is on the "score" board.

Wow what a mini beast. Hard to tell but there is actually a super intricate sound design to the whole thing. Now why did I do that even tho there was music and a complete interview all the way thru? I have no idea... Something about subtly hearing noises in the background makes me feel at ease. I hate silence behind sounds in film. We live in a very loud world. We have to design for it no? Everyday after our 4 day shooting period, I would go home. Offload footage, and start sound designing and cutting individual sequences. This helped me so much when entering a new day of shooting. I figured out what worked and what did not! I came out of everyday learning whole new tricks!
Huge Shoutout to Barchi Quadros! A hell of a partner, and an amazing translator/2nd camera/interviewer/Schedule master/ motivator! Sorry we did not have more BTS footage of him but he was grinding every shoot, spitting out ideas, translating for me. Everything you could ask for, he was doing. It was a pleasure. Thanks for trusting my idea brotha!
