    Great race man, Ive been your fan since your 2001 run, was good to see you here, still in the top contenders! The first 3 got lucky on the ice, but you and Kilian fighting it out as usual (you even told him to push!push!push! lmao I am sure not a lot of riders EVER get to tell Kilian to move his arse :D and he only got ahead of you by using 'Liam's SHortcut' by the road sign!), and a 5th far in front of hundreds of good riders, that is something to be proud of! Bravo, and very entertaining video as always. Thanks for the ride!

      He "only" got ahead because he took a smarter route. That's part of it too, no need to belittle Kilian for doing that and getting ahead. . Having said that... super impressive footage of that battle. Kilian the luckier one that day.

      Stefan knows every shortcut on that course, and he uses them. If he did NOT use a shortcut, it means that he meant to let Bron pass him there.

    Thank you for filming and uploading! Good result considering the difficult snow. Must be hard to see three of the strongest riders fly over the snow in front like that, knowing already after a few minutes of the race it will be almost impossible to get the podium. 😮

    Those first 3 being able to pedal through most of the glacier made it nearly impossible to catch up with them. Great race but so hard to catch up with them after that. Congrats on the top 5!

      @@tna-- pushing harder indeed plays a part, but the weight of a rider plays a significant role as well. I hear for example eventual winner Hugo Pigeon is only around 60kg. 80kg tall rider sinks much deeper into a soft snow.

    Oliver #2 (winner) somehow takes off just after 2:24 (very impressive and/or lucky to have found some hard-pan). And if Damien and Ben didn't have bike problems, who knows who would have come out on top. All in all, going stupid fast on the snow seems to keep the bike on top of sub-optimal snow.

    • @taxamata
      @taxamata Год назад +2

      09:14 - 09:20. there is a dark dot in the distance - Damien rides,
      loss is already 40 seconds.
      12:20. 40 seconds to third place
      14:56. 45 seconds to third place
      it was such that the first three
      made up your mind before the lake?

  • @taxamata
    @taxamata Год назад +2

    super race. Thank you for the video. the first three went faster,
    here you fought Kilian for half of the race. it seemed your form was not 100%. or let down health. great that you noticed the ledge without snow 04:00,
    and your trademark rise to the stone, to the left than the rest 06:17, but the speed was lower than that of the first three, their separation left no chance for anyone.
    already at 07:00 there was a feeling that we could not catch up with the first group. probably, Bron was not lucky at the start, and he also lost his chances of winning already at the beginning of the race. but when he caught up with you on the rise, it seemed to add strength to you. Watching contact wrestling is the most interesting thing. you are all cool guys. I have only two screens, but I would need 5-6 and watch your race synchronously from your different cameras
    I guess everyone has a different strategy.
    won by those who gave their best at the start on the snow, but pulled away.
    and leadership gave them more strength and mood.

    • @taxamata
      @taxamata Год назад +1

      in the middle of the track at the beginning of a long climb on the grid, there was exactly a minute between 3rd and 4th place. at the end of this climb, Oliver gained another 2 seconds. at the very end, to the small section on the highway, you managed to win back 5 seconds from Oliver. everything was decided in the first 5 minutes on the snow

    • @Greg_Chase
      @Greg_Chase Год назад

      @@Z0RDR4CK There's no sense in denying the options available for enhancing physical performance. But you're welcome to try. If you need sources, you can do a search on "performance enhancing drugs mountain bike" and read some of those articles.
      If you want to blame yourself for 'undertraining' or blame 'climate conditions' (remember, all these guys had THE SAME climate conditions, and a disappearing act occurred to only some) or if you want to blame yourself for having sub-part genetics or if you want to blame 'bad luck', you can also blame the ease of securing performance enhancing substances.
      Based on your response, I would recommend to the organizers to test for, and do hard-stop disqualifications, of riders using 'performance enhancers'
      They're there. It is 100% naive to think "no one uses artificial means to boost performance"
      TEST for it.
      IDENTIFY the perps.
      ELIMINATE THEM from competition.
      Because it's cheating.
