- Many foreign customers have returned to EDO wonderland at Nikko Edomura.

A courtesan is a woman of the highest class whose job it was to perform songs and dances at government-sanctioned banquets around 1600 (Edo period) and to attend the bedroom.
There was a Oiran Dochu to unveiling the highest class women to the general public.

江戸村は90年代後半から2000年にかけてよく行ってました。当時はかなり賑わっていた様な記憶があります。
今は人影も少なくて寂しいですね…。平日なんかは、お客よりスタッフの方が多いんじゃないか…って感じがし
ます。何かのきっかけで再び脚光をあびる日が来る事を切に願っています。そうなれば役者さん達も気持ちに張りが出るでしょうし…。日光、鬼怒川方面は観光的には暗い話題しかないのがやるせない…です。
そうですよね～。いまはアミューズメント施設が色々あるので、人気が偏るかもしれないですね。
「花魁」は今話題のアニメでも取り上げているので、大人も子どもも「花魁道中」を見る機会があると、また違う楽しみ方も見つかるかなぁ～と、アップしてみました（*^_^*）

@@kalhilton9703 I didn't go that year. Events change with the season, so the Oiran procession seems to be held in the cooler seasons😊👘

この素晴らしい文化を最大限に楽しむには大河ドラマの江戸時代に関わるものをいくつかみたうえで、｢水戸黄門｣｢暴れん坊将軍｣｢大岡越前｣などを見ないと正確に理解することはできません。
文部科学省で予算をとって英仏独スペイン語訳の字幕を付けて飛行機の液晶画面で見れるようにするべきです。
