We spent the day in El Cotillo showing you around this charming fishing village which one of Fuerteventura's best kept secrets. Most people head to Corralejo or Caleta de Fuste but what is El Cotillo like? We show you around the bars, restaurants, shops and harbour area. There is more to El Cotillo than its famous beaches and lagoons. Ideal for a day trip on the bus or in a hire car but there are many accommodation options here too. If you are looking for a hotel in El Cotillo, or a self catering holiday rental there are many good options.

Fantastic and informative as always. Thank you so much for showing us around where we want to go next time we visit paradise. This area looks perfect for us. Not built up, not commercial, rustic, natural beaches, no big hotels.....it is truly an area of beauty. It was JPs walk video that made us look at this area as we have only ever been south of the island. Your video has has really helped solidify our choice.....next September, here we come (hopefully) x

Great video Amelia.....Love Fuerteventura, and El Cotillo is lovely, found it to be an easy drive from Caleta De fuste and well worth the visit ....refreshing change from the hustle & bustle of larger resorts nice craft shops and fab beaches....we spent an afternoon on one heading towards the lighthouse. Hope to visit again one day.

I love your video's they are so informative, Thank you so much. I love Fuerteventura out of anywhere I have been, there is just something about it for me. I have been there about 5-6 times, have only ever stayed in Barclo, & Sara Elba , mostly Sara Elba down near Atlantico. Don't know when I will get to see it again, but I long to be there. It's a good job we are having good weather here in South East Ireland. But at the same time my heart is wanting to be there, as I say I know it won't be for a little while, But I can sit back and watch you show lovely places on your video's. Thank you xxx

Unfortunately and with sadness the touring operator cancelled our holiday for august this week. Without any reason given, we will have to enjoy the island through your videos right now. Hopefully we can visit next year! It looks amazing.

Unfortunately, our government are not giving package tour operators enough time to plan for the restart. My next visit is September when hopefully the 'dust would have settled'

Sure we stopped there on a buggy tour years ago. Going to try a restaurant there hopefully in November if we get to corralejo.

Hi ladies, had 10 nights at the Cotillo Beach hotel last year. Nice chilled out break though too windy to go to the beach for 4 days (December) Think tui are only bed & breakfast, and jet2 half board, though I'd stand corrected x

Me and my family are due to go to elba sara golf and beach resort on the 23rd july we are really hoping we get there as it's my 40th birthday any information on the hotel would be fab. Hi Tony, Elba Sara have officially confirmed they are reopening on 1st July via their Facebook page. If you go onto their website they have some information for guests about how they are handling cleaning etc for guests. Hope you have a great holiday and a very happy 40th 👍

Just an update on restrictions in ireland goverment officals say the quartine be up to the 9th of july.. and we will have air bridges between a few countries dont think spain be on the "green list " as there calling it ..il be pushing it for the 17th be a last minute package
Thanks for the update, I have everything crossed for you! It seems so much work to negotiate air bridges when it would be easier to just scrap the quarantine now. Could make for an interesting situation if Spain is on the UK list but not the Irish one. What’s to stop people driving up to Belfast and flying in/out from there? 🤷♀️
Exactly but there goin in accoradance to rate of infection and countries that have it controlled like yourselfs. I know america brazil india maybe uk will have to self quaretine. The countries so far on the list be portugal germany france croatia and greece. Like were only down to 11 cases. Thats great goin

Not a particularly exciting story Ian. We just worked hard, saved hard and had a plan! I suppose not having children was a big factor as I hear they are quite expensive 😉 I’ll sign you up for pool cleaning duties!
Are the apartment complex owned swimming pools open for use ?
Hi Wayne, it’s down to each individual complex to decide. The cleaning requirements are quite strict and somebody needs to be responsible for limiting capacity so there isn’t overcrowding. Some have opened, others haven’t. If you’ve booked a private holiday rental then you will need to check with the owner to see what’s happening
I was there today.. everywhere is fully open but you DO have to still wear a pointless mask on the bus 😏

It looks to be the 17th July from their booking calendar but they haven’t been added to the official list issued by the tourist board (that isn’t unusual as not every hotel is sharing their dates). If you have a booking soon I would try and phone to confirm. All hotels are receiving a lot of emails and can’t answer everybody with reduced staffing at the moment.

Hey Jessica, this El Cotillo one wasn’t filmed during lockdown. My first Caleta video was and then subsequent ones as we moved through the different phases of reopening. The latest video on my channel was filmed just this week 👍
Just watch out for the unexpected nudity when walking on the beaches!.
How is it unexpected when Fuerteventura is well know for it's naturists? You can go naked on any beach except town beaches so not sure why people are shocked when they see someone enjoying the beautiful island as nature intended without a soggy swimming costume.

Hi there’s 2 in Caleta. One on the Main Street just past Fusion 22 and next to the old Aberdeen Steak House. The other is up the hill next to the Montecastillo Centre

They’re both British Foods I think but the one with scooters is the one on the Main Street. Easy to find that one

Hiya just a quick question what is the covid cases there? Were been told not to travel but if it is safe im goin😂😂😂
There are 37 cases within a quarantined group of migrants that were recently rescued off the coast here and brought ashore. They haven’t been allowed to leave isolation so the local government have separated them from the figures for the rest of the island (which is currently 0 and has been for a while).
Don't think you can get anything to eat or drink on the lagoon beach, I believe Torino Cafe has been taken down so take goodies with you. Hope I am wrong
