I agree. Looking back at the show and thinking about how the PCD perform, it *was* pointless to focus so much on vocal solos. The PCD are, first and foremost, BACKUP SINGERS who must be great and superb dancers with stage presence. Sassy BUT CLASSY. Who fits that description in the group of 9? Mariela. The rest of the dolls just don't sing that much, and Mariela proved that she could sing adequately in Free Your Mind--her ballet training gives her an air of class.
Britney was robbed. She hit the notes, she danced the dance, she had great presence. They just didn’t think she looked as hot as some other girls who got a miss pass, while she didn’t. No one can convince me otherwise, the 00s were cruel
i feel like everyone in the competition did good job and all talented.. of course there had to be elimination and stuff. everyone did well in my opinion... its been years and we're still commenting about it.. where has the time gone..
Brittany or Mariela would have been the perfect choice for the group. The comments they made about Brittany not being a ‘sophisticated’ version of sexy is bullsh*t.
I watched PCD videos online; (watched SFTND out of curiosity) the six dolls don't sing very much. They don't solo. They're first and foremost dancers who rock it on stage to showcase Nicole. The focus during SFTND should have been *dancing* and stage presence. Mariela was a perfect fit for PCD's needs, with Melissa Smith a close second. If SFTND had been to choose a lead singer, the choice was Chelsea, Melissa Reyes, or Jamie, who's got a gorgeous voice in her online music.
The gurls did Great!! I luv Jamie and Brittanys vioce!! Mariella is an amazing dancer, but i think she did very good in this 1! Not as well as she did in Free Your Mind, but she did great!!! YaY luv this version :P
yeah its pretty confusing what's happening with PCD right now. I heard so much rumours about Asia being cut off and stuff it all doesnt make sense! What i know is that all 8 of them (plus the winner of next season) will record the next album and then nicole and melody are going solo...right?
looking at this performance i would say that jamie is awesome but i think the reason why she got eliminated was because she didn't have enough confidence or something. i think they even got rid of britney too early. i know why they booted her but i think she was better than some of the other girls and should have been probably been given another chance.

@miaangel247 if you watch the rehearsal for this performance, you will see why they said it a little better. but in this video watch 1:05-1:12 and look at the massive difference....jamie and mariela do the movements but added nothing to it, while brittany added a lot of extra hip action.
@miaangel247 yea but they werent talking about the outfit, but about the way she dances. Like look at maria (think thats her name) she is doing the same moves but she looks classier doing it. As for burlesque, thats suppose to be a more of an upper class sorta thing. more visually pleasing than a common stripper youd find in any old joint.

Those elimination rounds are a team effort, and since Brittany added her own little thing at the end, it made her look kind of like the diva and they didn't look like a team anymore. Plus, Mike the choreographer told her that she didn't understand the sexiness of PCD. PCD are sophisticated sexy, and Brittany was dancing far too slutty. Although she IS a damn good dancer, it isn't what the judges wanted.
They're all awesome. Jaime was the best though. We all know how spy she is ... and her singing first is awesome. Strong voice instead of soft. Awesome. Britney ... hmm. She's good. Don't know why the judges voted her out first though. Maybe she's a bit too sexy? Lolz.

I always enjoyed Jamie from the start. I always thought she was a unique essence that would mesh really well with the Pussycat Dolls.
Mariella was the perfect next doll for me.. She's a very good dancer with a great look... And a decent voice perfect for singing ooh aah after Nicole
