This is one of many astonishing Scarlatti sonatas which oscillates between technical bravura and deeply sad nervous tension at tbe flick of a switch! This work always moves me very much, along w K27 in B minor etc, and has much in common with François Couperin's most emotive outbursts, although he most likely would never have found himself capable of playing this impressive showpiece.
