Rishi Sunak ‘sounds a bit desperate’ and ‘nobody actually believes him’

- “He keeps banging on about Jeremy Corbyn but nobody actually believes him because Jeremy Corbyn is not even in the Labour Party, not even allowed to run as a Labour candidate.”
Rishi Sunak's speech on national security sounded "a bit desperate" and is unlikely to appeal to the wider public, says former Labour advisor Stella Tsantekidou. She joins former Home Office advisor Claire Pearsall and James Hanson to dissect how effectively the Conservative and Labour parties have ramped up their campaigns for the upcoming general election.

I personally, am more terrified of another 5 years of the Tories than i am Putin dropping a nuke on us. We'll have absolutely nothing left. We can not allow another Tory government. We have to vote them out. The emergency Corbyn button is boring and utterly annoying.
Does anyone believe anything that ANY of these politicians say any more ?
I think had Corbyn been elected in 2017 or 2019, we would have had a government like New Zealand did during this period. The UK's media makes this impossible due to the fact it leans to the right. This bias has got far worse under the Tories, as they have put even more of their members, donors and mates in charge. They even have their own TV channel, GB News.
Putin don't need to use a nuclear to put England under the sea
We are blessed Putin doesn't want war or we be gone
Spot on 👍👍
Keep Rishi - he was a sitting duck and turned the economy around in one year. No one else would've done this
It is crazy that little Sunak Always reaches for the Jeremy Corbin button, but he's supported Truss and Johnson. They were both infinitely more dangerous for Great Britain than he was.
I think we should be saying how Sunak supported Braverman, who is absolutely a proven security threat.
no he could start a war think he gain support for us and be off before the nukes drop.he wants to leave us in the most shittist situation before he moves on.
and that is why the attack line by Sunak is failing, Starmer supported Corbyn which at least showed loyalty sunk stabbed Johnson in the back, supported truss, then lead a rebellion against truss and installed him self, he looks like a snake and incompetent.
Sunak doesn’t care about anything. He’s off to California soon.
He should be off to prison with the rest of them.
When Rishi says Corbyn I think Liz Truss.
Good one, I hope it sticks 😊
Yep, Starmer could use that at the next PMQs when Sunak breaks the emergency Corbyn glass again. And she is still in the Tory party, Jeremy not in Labour anymore. Edit: Although it is an unfair comparison, Jeremy has principles, Truss is just a grifter, so maybe not use it at PMQs on second thought.
Goodbye Tories. It hasn't been pleasant.
Lol The Tories have slashed the defence buget and the armed forces to peices.
Yes, in 2.7% of GDP in 2010. Below 2 within a few years, with the US expressing concerns as far back as the Obama administration.
Yea… but Jeremy Corbyn… 😂
Correct, the tories have been doing that ever since the Falklands conflict ended, and it's never stopped.
@@DarkFire515 false…they were actually cutting the armed forces BEFORE the Falkland’s war began
The real damage commenced in 2010 when Cameron became prime minister. Over the next 13 years, the armed forces were totally wrecked. It was absolutely unforgivable. A government should never compromise over the ultimate overall safety of its people.
You can smell the desperation from the Tories .
As soon as they bring up ‘cancel culture’ or ‘wokeism’ you know they’ve run out of actual points and they’re just hoping to rile up the bigots.
The tories haven’t got a hope
Sunak is not a likable person, always comes across particularly when challenged as very petulant.
I think Keir Starmer is better equipped getting a new security and economic deal with Europe.
he’s a proud member of the Trilateral Commission 😂
Dream on
@@malcolmmitchell6529 so what are your tarot cards say to day mate?
@@malcolmmitchell6529 ggrrr I'm not allowed to comment
I would be surprised if any normal people listen to sunak any more. He has to do his big speech in an echo chamber full of policy nerds because they would listen to anything.
Headline sums it up. He's finished as a politician and can go back to being filthy rich.
And according to a recent 'rich list', he's been getting richer whilst most of us have been getting poorer.
Rishi is the worst PM the uk has ever seen and that saying something 😂
Nah mate. Liz Truss was worse. Rish! Is still awful.
@@BJWT1047 true i forgot about that cabbage
@s2upac tbf everyone forgets her! 😂😂
worse than Blair, Brown, Cameron, May and Truss? I think not
Plan! What plan? Has anybody seen his “plan”? No. If he lies enough about having a plan he hopes people will be gullible enough to believe him. The right was believed over Brexit. Once bitten twice shy, I hope.
The Tory plan... is to have NO plan whatsoever !... That way, absolutely nothing can go wrong !
They say there is no timeline on these pledges, but if they did, everyone would complain. The Tories will have left this country in dire straights it will take time to undo all the problems.
Whatever he says , it proves out to be a false
Bad omen of Rishi Sunak strikes everywhere
Notice Sunacs face when he sat away from Hunt. He looks like a child on the first day at school.
What's the point Sunak whining on about defence when the detailed polling says that these days Labour are more trusted on defence?
What’s the point of Sunak full stop?
Times media Tory mouthpiece
It's the 'poodle', whilst the daily heil fail (blackshirt boys brigade) is the 'attack dog', though that latter dog is wishing to be 'put down', he's had enuff of life...
Anyone remember the Tory Friends Of Russia group and the receipt of monies?
It wasn’t Labour who put the Baron of Lubyanka Square in the House of Lords…
sunak and his wife have made over 100 million this year
Tory rot.... honestly this is worse than the usual right wing tosh you peddle
Sunak lies. He is not a prime minister. Caretaker.
Right
I think that you can guarantee that all politicians lie through their teeth - i.e. when smiling.
We haven't had a PM truly capable of leading in thirty years. Nor is there one in the House right now.
@JelMain what? John Major? Decent man but hopelessly incompetent in government. Blair and Brown were competent but did make mistakes. You could argue Cameron was competent, at least for his first 4 years
@@mr_incognito9305 I was trained as a Tier One world-changer, was introduced to the European Heads of State by the Head of Bilderberg - by my first name - because I was doing so, and repeatedly dealt at that level. As I keep saying, No 10 explicitly sought those skills, but didn't get, because they'd destroyed the confidence needed. This is why I judge from experience, I've done the job. No to Cameron, no to Blair, no to Brown. Self-assertion is not a criterion in my judgment, delivery is. This is a top-quality Nation let down by its politicians and the system behind them, I've put us back at the top table and each time some idiot undoes it. Much of the blame for that is with the Party Central Offices and local constituency selection committees, looking for followers rather than leaders.
Sunak represents Sunak.Harper,Hunt,Gove, wouldn't trust them under any circumstances, and Cameron is unspeakable.
Many citizens are not listening to Sunak as for the rest of the Torie gang hear them but not for too long as come away with a huge migraine and severe ear ache.
Those who want Tax cuts will vote Tories but think the majority are aware that tax cuts will follow and the public sector and NHS is where the tax cuts will come from.
No matter how much money we pump into the NHS they will squander it
The reason it's the same as the Blair governments promises is it's addressing the disasters that the Tory party always leaves behind
Yep, I’m old enough to remember the state the country was in the last time the Tories got kicked out, it’s pretty much Deja vu only worse this time.
💯
Sunak all fake
The Tories slashed defence spending by 16%. I'll just leave this here, in case anybody thinks Sunak is Mr Security.
They had a person who builds houses talking at the speech 😂. Typically, the times, a right wing owned media is never going to talk positive about Labour
The only thing we can depend on is that Labour will be worse than Sunak and Hunt
@@philwhiting5769 😀.
@@philwhiting5769based on what exactly?
@@edmurth History !!!!
@@philwhiting5769 adding a bunch of exclamation marks doesn't add anything to your one word reply. What history? Do you mean the history of the NHS for example? Because it's only taken 14 years for the Tories to turn the best satisfaction figures since records began to worst ever figures, growth was higher, defence spending was higher, wage growth was higher. It appears the facts of history don't agree with your blind beliefs.
Leadership is difficult. Having a vision or strategy is very important. You just get the impression that Sunak does not have the skills for this job and that he is just being asked to sit there while the car crash of the last 14 years completes. The Tories know a reset is coming for them and they have given up. It was leaving the EU and falling for all the RW nonsense that killed them.
This is not a key point here, but could Sunka's suits be any tighter? He looks like a school boy.
Its actually his old school uniform with the badge taken off.
Norman Wisdom's son?
His whole look is odd, funny little man.
I’ve heard that he practices in front of his mirror, and his reflection shook its head 😂
Sunak had interview with Elon Musk about future employment, he's off when he's out.
the usual bilge from the tory party . why bother with analysis ?
We are Sunk with Sunak !
Someone needs to do a poll and see who would win between Sunak and Corbyn. I know who I would be voting for
He sounds desperate because he is desperate! I don't think he has got enough contacts fitted up for his father in law yet so he's desperately clinging on. Tories are toast, regardless!
_"I have a nightmare"_ speech. Bravo!
Rather than talk about what he said - which was air and sounbite after soundbite talk about to what extent he can be trusted. Then when you admit that he cant you can get on to more valid and rele vant stuff. You lot would analyse what Jimmy Saville says abput his suitability to childmind and not discuss his trustworthindss fitst.
Sunak and Hunt are a right pair of Hunts.
I can't see where Sunak, and the previous bunch of Conservative clowns, have done much, if anything, for the average low-income citizen. No political party is perfect but I think it's time to give Labour a chance. Can't get much worse.
UNELECTED,, PRIME MINISTER .
The Cons already have my head in the noose. Do you think I'm going to vote for them to kick the bucket, from under me.😂😂
He’s a charlatan. Simple.
Sorry but who is this lady? Thinking it’s an important dividing line when labour spent far more on defense… pathetic.
Pick up your Green card on the way out😂😂😂😂
The electorate has a lot to say about this Tory Government! The longer he holds off the GE , the louder it will get
Penny Mordaunt has a dilemma - after she moves into number ten is it worthwhile unpacking the boxes.
God Tory FM still don't get it.
Ok ya
Sounds a lot desperate.
Rishi Sunak doesn’t even believe Rishi Sunak
Oh my favourite Tory shills. Saying what they wanted a Tory leader to say as if he did🤣😂🤣
A hugs problem from Sunak is that what he is asking the public to believe is preposterous - that Labour has no plan (you may not like it, but to suggest that is gaslighting) and Starmer wouldnt protect us - again, he may not excite people but that is ridiculous.
POLITICS IS THE INDUSTRIAL MILITARY COMPLEXES COMEDY DEPARTMENT
*KIA STARMER* "I pledge I will drink from this puddle...!"

Well, the Tories have failed miserably on each and every one of the issues covered in Labour's six pledges. The Conservative Party and the government are going down in flames. As they should.

Keep Rishi - he was and is sitting duck and turned the economy around in one year. No one else would've done this
The policy position is confused and the record of delivery is terrible plus people have actively stopped listening. There is another problem that I am surprised is not mentioned much and where Sunak needs better advice - he comes across as very 'needy and pleady' in his personality style to an almost silly level of niceness. It doesn't come across as calm, confident, considered authority and decisiveness.

Nope, the Tories are just as soft as Labour on this so will be voting Reform only. The Tory party vote share needs splitting, they have abused their powers for too long.
I'll take the 300,000 Palestinian refugees if we can have a stable economy. That's the priority of everyone I know.
