I hate when they call her difficult.. well as a person that loves her music I thank her for being as they would say "difficult" she she wanted the very best for her audiences. One of the greatest voices ever..
She ruins it..totally...overproduced ..simply bad. Try the great Marylyn Mayr who at 9O plus has more feeling in her little finger than BS. ON RUclips THERE IS A YOUNG MAN WHO SINGS IT EQUALLY WELL.
Oh that voice...I could listen to her sing all day. Have loved her since the 60's! I remember watching her for the first time, maybe on Jack Parr? It was about 1965 maybe. Either way,, I've loved her ever since. The most incredible singer of our time. Of all time.
I'm thrilled Barbra has chosen to sing this song, the words are so very moving, and one of my favourites. Totally breathtaking your performance Barbra. Your voice is just as wonderful as ever.
She sings with the emotion and experience of a woman who has LIVED and she certainly has a lifetime of experience. Very grateful she shared this recording session. I love these behind the scenes. If you catch her singing ‘How are things in Glocca Morra? OMG....flawless perfection by a masterclass !!!!
One can argue preferences all day, and Dorothy Loudon made this song a showstopper no question. However, for those of us who remain--after all these decades--captivated by the sheer beauty and majesty of Streisand's vocal gifts, this will be our choice.
I agree. I've heard and really listened to more than a few versions - many being truly wonderful - but Ms. Streisand adds that extra element of inspiration: her voice lifts you and literally carries you to some higher place of majesty... a beauty, where your heart catches its breath...
escuchar a esta mujer.....es una locura..................de gusto....................................que bonita forma de expresar......los sonidos.......................
Barbra is still the best interpreter of Alan and Marilyn Bergman's lyrics. It's like the soprano, Mary Garden was a favourite singer of composer Debussy, Bergmans obviously prefer Barbra sings their love songs. They made the effort to attend at the studio recording to listen and watch her sing. Alan Bergman once said in the interview that the test of knowing if the singer gets it right or not is to watch Marilyn if she is in tears at the end of the song. I hope that she was in tears after that sublime performance at the studio.
This song grabs your heart and squeezes down hard till you know and feel the agony and desperation of a love that only goes so far...and Ms. Streisand graces and emboldens the lyrics with her awe-inspiring gift.
I'd forgotten how perfect this song and performance are; but hey, it's Barbra: What did I expect? :) Lovely that her longtime close friends and collaborators Marilyn and Alan Bergman were there. They were among the very first professionals to discover her. They saw her in person at the Bon Soir in the Village when she was about 19. They were stunned. They went backstage and Marilyn asked, "Do you know how wonderful you are?" They became almost surrogate parents to her. They all love one another.
74 years old and she can STILL knock it out of the park! I am speechless. 10 days till I see this magnificent woman in concert for the very first time. I am crying tears of joy at the thought of it❤️❤️❤️😭!!!
LOVE! I saw Barbra 3 years ago in Cologne, Germany. The greatest artist I know! And forever a beautiful person! This is one of my favourite musical songs.
I will look for the CD online so I can have this as a collection. I listened to the Dorothy Loudon version which is great, but I like Barbra's version, simply because I love her voice!
I just LOVE to watch her "work". Barbra puts everything she's got into every note. You can see it in action during these recording sessions, which we are so lucky to witness. Such an incredibly gifted performer. Very few artists can touch the heart and soul as she does.
I don't care your age or mine, I don't care what you've done or where I was when, you know. I care about what you make me feel right here and now. And there's something in your voice and the way you interpret the lyrics that somehow take me with you. I go there with you... and I like that trip. Take me to more journeys... I need it... and I need you.
Barbra Streisand is the best, no doubt about that, yet we demand and expect more from her, because we know what she is capable of and able to deliver in her performances. This CD is a historical event.
Probably the most heartbreaking song for a mistress or even a gay guy who shares the love of a man with someone else by the most heartbreaking voice in our century... We as human beings are so frail at times with our choices in life 😔
Yeah, many gay guys can identify with this, myself included. Karen Carpenter had an even more heartbreaking voice (though I'm not sure if this century counts).
Extraordinária Barbra Streisend!!... Que saudade de ouvi-la cantar... Suas músicas maravilhosas com sua voz magnífica, marcaram lindamente as nossas vidas... Eu a admiro demais!! A sua música Memory foi a que mais me marcou...
BARBRA STREISAND will always be AGELESS AND TIMELESS, she has and will remain the very BEST the world of entertainment and performing arts has ever seen.
I've listened to the end at least 10x already and it still makes me cry. Incredible. These are the kind of songs she should be singing....and by herself! Stop with all the duets!!
This video is a testament of the powerful effect of music. Barbra was not looking well and tired and then She sang and Her beauty and vitally came rushing into Her presence.
When I was still in high school, I would go into the theatre's dressing room and just belt this song with as much anger and passion as I could because at the time, I knew what it felt like to know I didn't have 100% of the boy I loved (because he was ignoring me constantly and obviously didn't want me anymore so that's a bit different) but despite the last few lines being nearly impossible to sing without busting a lung, I love this song so much and Barbra absolutely does this song justice. She sounds absolutely stunning. ❤
Oh my god! I can't actually believe how perfect this song is😍 - I don't think I breathed for the entirety of the 3 minutes 25 seconds that the video was playing💖🎶...
I DONT KNOW WHERE COULD MY LIFE GO IF MY BARBRA SOMEDAY WONT BE IN THIS WORLD. I WILL FEEL SO MUCH UNCOMPLETE. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BARBRA. (PARDON THE EXPRESSION) YOU MAKE MY DAYS, MY NIGHTS WITH YOUR VOICE. SO MUCH IN MY HEART , IN MY SOUL , IN MY LIFE ,THATS HOW YOUR DEEP VOICE IS IN ME STARTING EVERYDAY
Still stunning! I've been waiting for this song from her ever since I first sight read it on the piano years ago - and she truly delivers, and then some!
Thrilling! I've waited for years for Barbra to sing this.... And my, how it surpasses what I heard in my imagination! That final note is breathtaking! Just wonderful!!! Love!
That magic, that sparkling magic that you've been giving us for so many years is simply wonderful, heartfelt, inspiring, unvaluable. Thanks a lot for it.
Like no other who ever sang before, or will ever possibly sing in all the futures of the Earth. A true and God-given singing singularity.
Jesus...I just came from her 1963 video...and the vocal control and perfection are the same. Her voice is simply PERFECT.
... listening to the phrasing, the perfect pitch, the honey of her legato ... all I can say is "Simply Streisand" scores again.
Still at 74, Barbra takes my breath away when she hits those incredible notes. Nobody touches my heart like her.
What a beautiful song.
Same.
I hate when they call her difficult.. well as a person that loves her music I thank her for being as they would say "difficult" she she wanted the very best for her audiences. One of the greatest voices ever..
I totally agree. These people who call her "difficult" just can't understand her creative energy.
She has the purity of a 19-year-old singer...at 70+ years of age. It’s impossibly perfect.
I just experienced the patented Streisand chill. That last note is thrilling.
oh my yes!!!
that B4
Is there any doubt why this woman is the best singer alive? At +70 years old, she can still belt and sustain long notes. That is PURE talent.
Same goes to Patti Labelle, she's 74 now and still got those pipes, still hitting those high notes, can sustain long high belted notes.
NO ONE sings like Barbra Streisand! No one
@@whostosay3256 the world won't see another singer like Barbra, ever. So glad we got to experience her music.
So happy I discovered her while she's still around. I love her so much.
Nobody can match her talent!
NO WORDS NEEDED !
Barbra is just the nr. 1
TOPCLASS👍
It's been so easy to be a fan of Barbra Streisand these past fifty years. She's been consistently great all throughout the years.
She is perfection!
74 years old and a voice like That!! incomparable the best ever!! There will never be another Streisand! what a gift
Barbra is the best, she has done it again! No one absolutely no one compares to her! ❤️
👍
Nothing short of the truth, sister.
Celine dion is much better than her

Over all the tears I've been listening to her performances NOT ONCE has her intonation been off. Not by a smidgeon. Incredible.
I am an italian fan i love ❤ barbra you traslate me in italian this song thank you ❤
Simply celestial everytime.....

The best singer with one of the best songs. Just magnificent
No one like her Jason!
Good god I love this woman’s voice.when ever I feel low I just listen to some Streisand and instantly feel better.
I know what you mean, Reece. I feel the same, and I'm sure you know we're not alone--! :)
Same here. I make it a point to listen to her every single day. Life is better because of her music.
Incredible and those last two notes are stunning.
One can argue preferences all day, and Dorothy Loudon made this song a showstopper no question. However, for those of us who remain--after all these decades--captivated by the sheer beauty and majesty of Streisand's vocal gifts, this will be our choice.
Loudon was 20 years YOUNGER than Streisand when she sang this song.
I agree. I've heard and really listened to more than a few versions - many being truly wonderful - but Ms. Streisand adds that extra element of inspiration: her voice lifts you and literally carries you to some higher place of majesty... a beauty, where your heart catches its breath...
First of all I feel this is the best song from the CD but seeing her do it live it just confirms it, for me. Amazing that she can still move me.
This woman ..there is absolutely no one that can touch her..the voice is so pure
She still sounds really good; her voice never aged!!
Streisand will always be ageless , evergreen and unforgettable.
What an amazing experience for everyone that was there for the recording. A super human being Barbara is.
Thrills me to the core, and it's that final note that Barbra holds that just makes me shake with excitement. So so so...still at the top of her craft.
escuchar a esta mujer.....es una locura..................de gusto....................................que bonita forma de expresar......los sonidos.......................
BEAUTIFUL!! I love her voice!!! 👍🥰
yeah! like it or not Streisand will always be in a class all by herself!!
She can still be..Thrilling.

Judy,Nina,Ella, and Streisand are by far the greatest voices of all time in my opinion🎤🎤

You'll love it. It's a great program, beautifully presented.
absolutely brilliant rendition! quite spellbinding actually. it was also great to see the original songwriters in the recording studio.
My God, that voice is absolutely gorgeous.
LOVE! I saw Barbra 3 years ago in Cologne, Germany. The greatest artist I know! And forever a beautiful person!
This is one of my favourite musical songs.
Best song on the album
Classic Barbra, and just beautifully arranged
I will look for the CD online so I can have this as a collection.
I listened to the Dorothy Loudon version which is great,
but I like Barbra's version, simply because I love her voice!
Electrifying. Love to see Barbra sing this live.
Josh Brolin's father has quite a voice. It is so deep and manly.
Simply superb Streisand. What else?
I just LOVE to watch her "work". Barbra puts everything she's got into every note. You can see it in action during these recording sessions, which we are so lucky to witness. Such an incredibly gifted performer. Very few artists can touch the heart and soul as she does.

I can't wait to buy this album. What a beautiful song and wonderful voices.
Barbra...superlativa...come sempre!!!❤❤❤
This sends chills up me. One of the best from the new CD.
Barbra Streisand is the best, no doubt about that, yet we demand and expect more from her, because we know what she is capable of and able to deliver in her performances. This CD is a historical event.
Goosebumps all over my body!!!! Her singing is out of this world, the beauty of her tone is unbeatable
La plus grande voix et chanteuse de tous les temps
Her voice just puts me at ease, it really makes me feel like I’m floating

This is probably the best track on the album...
I've listened to the end at least 10x already and it still makes me cry.
Incredible. These are the kind of songs she should be singing....and by herself! Stop with all the duets!!
Me Too...
So true. This and the three other solo tracks are what I'm looking forward to most
One more duet is needed! Barbra and BEYONCE! After that, she can hang up her duets hat! ;)
She doesn't even need a piano! Yes, I agree, enough
with the duets.
Beyonce is overrated as most of today's "talents".
