Many laptops are designed with a built-in battery inside the laptop case, as well as with the Alienware 15 R4 model. Without disassembling the laptop, you cannot remove the battery. In this step-by-step video instructions, I’ll show you how to disassemble and replace the battery in a Alienware 15 R4.

This was such a huge help! Thank you! If only I didn’t destroy my NIC’s main connection cable in the process - now I have something else to fix ahah

@@yangbukan-bukanje3348 yeah my daughter uses it and doesn't need mobility.
No performance decrease but you need to make sure to use the original/strong power supply. I have some less powerfull ones from older Dell laptops that it will crash when gaming etc.

@@ragnarblackmane6024 i tried to disable the battery using device manager first to see if its work, but i encounter something like “battery disable temporary” when i restart. After that i clicked continue and my laptop working but the fps drop, even without launching any games, how do you solve it?

@@yangbukan-bukanje3348 didnt do anything more than remove the battery. Maybe there's a difference with just disabling it.
btw with an older dell laptop i had performance limits when i had a lower-powered power supply connected, but had full power when booting it without power-supply or the correct one.

Thanks for sharing. It would be helpful to have texts on the screen for which screwdriver you're using. Some of the screwheads are hard to see on my laptop.

Great video. Just replaced mine today but it is not charging. It says it is temporarily disabled and to try again when the laptop is back to operational temperature. It is not overheating though. Do you happen to know how to enable it please? I've already tried with the power cycle thing where the power button needs to be pressed to completely drain the laptop and things like that. My battery is exactly like the one in the video, brand new.

@@angusblaikie Yeah, I fixed it. Buy only original. I spoke to a friend who is a technician at Alienware. Non original batteries don't work. I had to return it and buy a genuine one. Original battery works perfectly. I bought 99wh original battery. Make sure it says Alienware on it and it should work.

Finally a video that has really good resolution.
I sent my 15 R4 for a battery replacement and when it came back, the LED light on the left bottom had issues with the colors in that the rest would show blue but the left one would show white.
Any idea on what went wrong?

the screen must’ve not been put on correctly, it’s when the ribbon isn’t fully into the clip which makes the circuit for the screen start going bananas

Omg, that was tough. All my screws were locktited in, which pretty much guarantees you're gonna strip some threads.... Why on earth do they put locktite on screws in this application? Correctly torqued, they're not gonna come undone...
