On my campus literally EVERYTHING is under strict control and you're not even allowed over there unless you have a good reason/work/class/etc., and have taken a COVID quiz before coming to campus. Super disappointing, but greek life in the North East is notoriously bad and known for their intense hazing, I should have known. I have good friends who had amazing experiences, but they were all in the south.
I totally understand how watching videos like this can make it seem like sorority life is perfect and everyone is friends but that’s not entirely true. Of course some sororities love each other like family, but that doesn’t mean you need to be apart of a sorority to feel that love. I’m sorry your recruitment experience left you feeling like you are missing out, but I promise finding an amazing group of friends through clubs or sports can make you feel the same way the girls in this video feel. You are not worth any less just because you didn’t get a bid to a house! Sending love!!
Still it would’ve been nice for someone to have wanted to be my friend my first week of college and not just be sitting alone all the time. Also I’m overweight and none of the girls I saw when going to the houses were over a size 8 so I can’t help but think that was part of it. Not that I think people would consciously have that be part of their decision but still I can’t help but wonder.

Don't try to fit into stereotypes. Be you, unapologetically you. And find a band where there is all types of people. :) And for the part about being sit alone all the time, be brave and if you spot people who look super cool, take a deep breath and give yourself 20 seconds to reach them. That's literally what I did my first year of university - and I'm very shy - and that's how I met some of my best friends. Good luck, you can do it, give yourself that right.

aleena sarfraz we have sororities in canada. There’s 3 Pi Phi chapters in Ontario. University of British Columbia has a greek life village for housing and University of Toronto has million dollar sorority houses.

Black women who show an interest in Greek life generally are interested in NPHC sororities. Sororities that are historically black and we’re founded because we were barred from membership from white sororities. Some of us may join NPC sororities like Pi Phi but not many hence why you don’t see a lot.
In the Netherlands we have student unions, which are also like fun, parties, activities etc, but it’s sooo different than this. Nothing even remotely close, but still very fun :)

Brotherhood's ( fraternity's) or sisterhoods (sororitys) formed by like minded people that go to the same University, you can be a part of a sorority without being in the sorority house I think but most commonly they all live in a sorority house together. There are certain higherarchys
Sorority recruitment or rush is a process in which university undergraduate women join a sorority. It is a procedure that includes a number of themed rounds in which different events are included. Hell week,” which is traditionally the last week of pledging where hazing is most severe, “is now a weekend because the school cracks down. You have to all sleep at the same place, you can be kept up all weekend, you have to write a song about pledging, and sisters can line you up any hour of the day. So basically rush week is recruitment while hell week is like the worst week for hazing pledges
Sororities are usually very different when it comes to price but def expect to pay 1,000-3,000 a semester for everything on overage some are cheaper some are more expensive. Greek life is very elitist
They technically live together, so they don’t have to. They are still wearing masks and staying safe. She explained this all in the first 1-2 minutes of the video.

My Grad School campus effectively says, "Don't come!" (Probably only a few faculty members are allowed to come.)

they had to take a course at bama too. and they had significantly smaller amount of girls at one time. everything was in shifts ;)
All students had to be tested for covid before coming to campus. The university has strict precautions!
