when i first saw the line up for qlimax i was pretty happy about it but i can't thell th same after all the sets. Even the gunz for hire set which is my favorite act wasn't that impressing (at least for my taste). More specifically : 1.TNT (tuneboy 2016 was better) 2.frequencerz (interesting set kinda tired of them since they have been playing qlimax too many times in a row but they are awesome nonetheless 3.Da tweekaz (pretty happy about them to make it to qlimax but they don't rly fit the theme of it ) 4.wildstylez (i am always bored of this guy but he is a good producer no matter my taste) 5.noisecontrollers & atmozfearz (i was kinda of expecting to be bored of this set as well but i was surprised by how darker and rawish it was in some parts) 6.Phuture noize (best surprise for qlimax this guy is huge and will have a lot more to show in the future) 7.sub zero project (ehhh...ok i guess) 8.gunz for hire ( pretty bumped about the new music but i missed some classics i was expecting) 9.DBSTF (best set of the night but i know their sets are pretty similar) 10.n-vitral (interesting and good to see him)
G4H has been booked continuously for more than the last 5 years (as G4H or individually), so it was natural that this year's one was gonna be meh. If they played stuff like Bolivia or Kings Of The Underground or Sorrow, it might have been better Wildstylez was definitely the shittiest set of the night, especially when the only worthwhile tracks were cut out from the video set. The rest was generic crap. NC/Atmo and SZP were awesome as well. N-Vitral was the best one. You could see he put massive effort. Literally every track was a edit/mashup.
The set might be good, but I don't like it. Maybe because I saw Wildstylez 3 times last year and he ALWAYS plays the same songs, there's nearly no variation :D. Don't get me wrong, he's an awesome producer, and his songs are great, but for me a DJ-Set loses attraction when you know "oh yeah, he's gonna to play these 20 songs".

It's not cool if you listen to the same set three times when you have paid for it. DJing also has to do with the song selection you make, and live I rather want to hear a unique set missing out on some other songs from the artist than a generic "press play record". Because to this I can listen everytime I want at home, but a DJ-Set with unknown songs or a really good selection (eg Dr Rude is an expert on this) makes a night unforgettable.
