- Two videos from me in as many hours? What is this blasphemy?!
Lol. Finally I have out a VERY long awaited video. This was actually supposed to be my first full length crossover - hence why the quality is so poor compared to my usual crossovers *cringes at 240p backgrounds*. I almost didn't want to upload it since all I want to do is remake it, but it's interesting to see how far I've progressed as an editor in a single year. (I started this video back last April or May).
This video is largely experimental, mostly just me learning the ins and outs of Premiere and After Effects and throwing the hodgepodge of what I came up with into a (somewhat) coherent video. This video contains my first ever masking, my first time working with shape layers, my first time trying to make shadows, etc.
It was also interesting because this video was my first time attempting tears (Jim crying was actually the first manip I ever made in AE). It took me two solid days to get tears the way they are, and today I did the same thing for Can You Hold Me in around 20 minutes. Improvement!
I finally have my rendering issues addressed as well (the main reason this has just been sitting in my projects folder for months), so expect more videos forthcoming from your's truly.
I'll probably go and remake it in a year or two, but for now, it's up for you all to enjoy.
(and a little Easter egg for those who may have picked up from the epilogue; yes, this is considered a prequel to Kiss it all Better)

I love it, the manips are soo good!Ariel and Jim is one of my OTPs, they have similar characteristics and combinate very well with each other. I'm only a bit confused about two things: Melody is the daughter of Phoebus or Jim? And why was Phoebus sentenced to death (i suppose for trying to kill Jim but i'm not sure..)?
Federica Casali why thank you! As for the others, Melody is Jim's daughter, and Pheobus was sentenced to death by Ariel's father for his attempt to kill her.

Can someone give me a summary as to what this whole episode is about
Well, I am glad you asked. To be honest, this video was the conglomeration of my experiments with AE when I got it last August, so I'm surprised I even created a semi-coherent plot with it to begin with. I will gladly give you a synopsis.
Ariel is the daughter of a noble and is introduced to Captian Pheobus while a servant in her house, Jim, looks on. Jim and Ariel are secretly lovers, although they are discovered by Ariel's friend Belle, who promises to keep their secret. Ariel overhears her father promising her in marriage to Pheobus, devastating her. She tells Jim, but he yells at her for not standing up to her father and leaves her. Ariel is heartbroken and recalls her father informing her that he knew of her relationship with the servant boy and swears to kill Jim if she refuses to marry Pheobus.
Jim, equally heartbroken and dreaming about the future he had planned for them, ends up on a sea voyage to forget Ariel, but the distance only makes it harder. When back in port, he runs into Belle, who tells him that Ariel is pregnant. Jim leaves distraught and unloads to a beautiful woman who invites him to her home to talk with her wife. Cindy tells him to fight for Ariel if he really loves her. Later at a tavern, he overhears Pheobus hiring a hitman to kill Ariel since he found out that Ariel is pregnant and the child is Jim's, shocking the latter.
Realizing Ariel and their child is in danger, Jim immediately seeks out Belle again in search of Ariel. Belle leads him to her, and Ariel is shocked to see Jim again but is happy that he's returned to her. Just before they run away together, Gaston arrives to kill Ariel. Jim protects her and throws Gaston off the balcony, killing him. The pair escapes onto Jim's ship, reunited at least.
Six months later, Belle and Eric meet and fall in love (a prequel to my Kiss It All Better MEP part canonically), Ariel's father executes Pheobus for attempted murder, and Jim and Ariel live in peace with their daughter on a ship.

They were there to spur Jim to fight for Ariel instead of moving on when he obviously didn't want to.
