I love this pattern. Very straight forward tie with loads of color and size variability. This is a definitely going in my warm water fly box. Thanks for sharing.

After watching your video, I tied this fly. It is a killer pattern for bass, haven’t tried trout yet. I tie it in different color patterns and also on the size 2 hook. Purple over Chartreuse seems to be the go to pattern but there are days when the other colors are a little better. I presently have one box dedicated to this pattern. Thanks, you have a great speaking voice and teaching manner, I watch all the videos I’ve seen you produce, keep up the good work.

I'm heading to Alaska next week; up to Nome, beginning of Silver run. I'm tying these in Pink, Purple, Chartruese and white. I think they'll be killer

Great lookin steamer TLV,I have yet to experiment with the jig hooks but think they would fish great (especially this pattern) in streams with lots of vegetation like spring creeks, which is the majority of my fly fishing.

What a great tie, thanks for the instruction! There's certain patterns that are just plain fishy (without using 10 materials) and this looks to be one of them.

I really love the look of this pattern and want to tie a few up myself for going after bass and pike, but I had a question; what width zonker strips are you using here? I've seen quarter- and eighth- inch wide strips, and I imagine that that much of a relative size difference matters at least a little.

Would love to see more flies for smallies. They have smallies in Jersey don't they? Your videos are the best.

I've been following your profile for a while, you and two other channels have taught me almost everything I know about fly tying. With what would be considered amateur experience at best, would a cross cut strip not be more suited for the belly?

Really awesome pattern, Tim. I've been looking for a nice universal fly that works on bass, trout and anything else that is more attractive than a regular Zonker. I feel like this is a definite contender, i'll have to get a hold of some of those hooks. Also one question, I guess having the eyes on the side of the shank thats supposed to ride up in the water doesn't cause this fly to keel over or upside down? Because thats a problem i had when I started putting Eyes on my regular Zonkers I had to move them to underside of the shank to keep them swimming upright.

Really love this pattern, can't wait to tie it, I already bought some hooks. I've been doing a lot of fishing at night for bass at my local lake and I'm trying to get their attention in the dark. If I wanted to incorporate a rattle in this fly what do you think would be the best way to go about it? Thanks, love your videos.
