And he's just using it as an excuse to not do something he doesn't want to do. He's completely afraid of getting beat by actual ex pros so he ran from it for 10 years. Now he finally gives in to try to keep his stream alive and finds an excuse to not do it anyway and also declares himself correct for not wanting to play it for all that time when he didn't even know that was an issue.
It's a meta build that someone else looked up and told him to copy. He has no understanding of how to use it because he doesn't play games like almost anyone else does. His twitch chat tells him what to do every step of the way, while he just scans the chat for incoming money.
I don't think he has everything to make the most out his build though. Cause azure got nerfed pretty hard and without that one spell to amplify it and tear in the physic, azure really doesn't do shit for damage and with his shit timing he can't make the most of comet.
You could say the same thing about every aspect of Phil's life. He can never admit to making a mistake. It's always something or somebody else that caused it. So he learns nothing from his experiences and the cycle continues.
i think he was overleveled when fighting the final bosses, and Maliketh really gets dumpstered when you have too much damage (on my first playthrough i was around level 130-something and he died really quickly, I then fought him at level 80 and he's a real challenge)

I know most people know why he's getting hit even tho he's rolling; but for those who aren't aware, long story short there are two reasons: 1: Timing is off. He either rolls too late and gets hit before the roll starts, or he rolls too early, and by the time the i-frames of the roll finish, he gets hit. Roll catching is a thing, and enemies will follow your movement, so panic rolling might not save you. 2: He rolls in the same direction the enemy attack is going to: I noticed this far more during the fights against Placidusax. The lightning claw attacks, whenever they went from left to right of the screen, Phil more often than not rolled the same direction, meaning he was rolling into the hitbox of the attack rather than through/away from it, so by the time the i-frames of the roll finished, he was still inside the hitbox of the attack and took the damage. Also, he REALLY should've moved away from the front of Placidusax when he was doing the double laser breath instead of standing there like a buffoon thinking it was free damage opportunities.
