Thanks. I was doing this by running both OBS and Windows Camera. But using two OBS instances is way better. Another top tip for syncing them... if using Davinci Resolve for editing, then have both OBS instances record your audio - and then use Davinci Resolve's multi-cam feature to sync both videos together. One of the multi-cam sync options is to automatically sync by audio waveform. It makes it super-simple. Means you don't need to do the whole clap and notepad thing.

An easy tip to sync your audio when you open the two separate OBS the first one that has your full camera on mute the desktop audio And just leave the mic audio. And for the second OBS which is capturing your game Mute your mic so it's just capturing the game audio. That way you have two separate audio for your game and webcam which you can sync in editing much easier.
IMPORTANT NOTE ---> When you close OBS it would go back to default so make sure to mute them again when you record

a better syncing method, if you're capturing your mouse, is to say "up down up down" while flicking your mouse up and down. that's what I do and it works perfectly. if your not recording your mic in OBS with the webcam, you can clap first to sync your voice THEN do the up down thing.
anyway, thank you so much! my camera's SD slot broke (like a piece broke off of it and now i can't insert any SD cards...) so i have to start recording straight to my PC and didn't want facecam and gamplay stitched permanently because of how I like to edit.... this is so useful lol.

I forgot to make the output of the two instances into two different folders. I'm left with an .MKV file that only has 1 video & 1 audio track. However, in VLC player, I'm able to view both video streams by going back and forth. I can go to the 10 minute mark and I see/hear the gameplay footage and then if I skip ahead and then go back to the 10 minute mark, I can see/hear the webcam footage. So I know both did record. Alternatively for the "sync" just use a shortcut so start recording. It will start to record both at the same time.

This will cause issues. OBS often names the same file the same name and causes corruption.

I was thinking the exact same thing, just the hotkey to record or streamdeck button should suffice

@@MikeTheTech oh really? thats super weird, maybe the deeper solution is getting Streamlabs OBS and OBS to dodge corruption, technically two different applications? just an afterthought

Or setting them to output into different folders. One to /Webcam/ and one to /Screen/ so they won't overwrite each other.

Only problem is it saves the past directory. So once you close, you have to set it again.

Hmmmm.....when I try to crop out the room like you do around 1:45 in the video, the screen just gets bigger or smaller, it doesn't allow me to crop parts of the room out. Any ideas?

Sorry to ask, but what is the significance of slapping the table and closing notepad? I know you said youre synching audio, but i don't understand how thats synching it. Im an extreme novice with all of this stuff, sorry

When editing in a video editor, the audio will show a visual spike when I hit the table or clap. I can line up both tracks based on the peak of that audio spike, and the videos will be in sync.

@@MikeTheTech ahhh sorry I was confused. So my setup is Ryzen 7 3800x with Nvidia GTX 1080 playing on console ram 32gb. Do you suggest one instance of obs encoding using NVENC and the other H264?
