*EDIT* I have the "XT" version which is the one you that is available at Wal-Mart. It has an IPX4 rating where the regular Rail ANC has an IP55 rating. That is the only differences I can see.
Excellent video! Thank you! I disagree in a few areas. I picked these up on sale a few weeks ago for $70. My main complaint so far is that the ANC is VERY subtle, almost non-existent. “Stay aware” is tinny and painful. Lastly, the volume can not be turned down low enough. These are LOUD at minimum volume.
I'm loving them. Defo sound better with anc off. And it's honestly not needed tbh. Actually the best earbuds I've had. And I've had let's say....a lot. Hahaha
So, from what I gather, the Soundcore Space A40 is a better deal, since it is the same price and outdoes the ANC and Transparency. I can't vouch for the bassheads though, let me state that.
Sometimes things sound good on paper, also, even if the all the features work there might be another product that a person will just feel comfortable using, for example I use the JBL Tour One headphones, the XM5s, Airpods Max may blow my JBLs out of the water but I still go for the JBLs.
@@aceracemusic7565 You won't be disappointed, I own the space a40s and the Liberty 4 NC's Have the same battery life but sound incredible. The transparency mode on the a40s is a little better though
This is why I subscribed, you have the same EXACT opinions about Skullcandy as myself. They truly had not come out with anything that was worth a while and I've watched most of your videos on the sesh and several others Skullcandy released as well as trying them all irl myself. Absolutely Disappointed. Also these caught my eye today just like they did yours and I immediately came straight to your channel. Keep up the great work 💯
I´ve had a bad experience with skullcandy , both the indy and indy evo had a nice boomy sound, but the worst quality in terms of electronics, every week or so, there was a connection problem, a pairing problem or a controls problem. I would love to hear if someone gets them if they encounter some problems after some time
I was having some problems as well just recently but I've had the Indy for almost two years I lost them a few days ago and by the review of this new rail earbud I think I'll get them.
Evos suck they always disconnect and you take off the ear guards it doesn't sit right in the case and never charge or connects to the phone when you don't want it to
hey I just got the skullcandy rail, an upgrade from my og indy's but Im wondering form anyone who can answer this, why are these things so damn loud? its so brutally loud that it hurts to even listen to the Bluetooth lady telling you the battery percentage. the minimum volume (6 percent) on these things is around 75 percent volume on the original indy's, around 35 percent volume is so loud it is louder than full on music concerts, leaving your ears ringing, and max is so bloody loud that its similar volume to my phones speaker at around 20 percent. I tried multiple devices connected to this, i updated the firmware on the iq app, im sure these arent faulty buds so why is everyone ok with the fact that these things are louder than aipod pros max volume at just 40 percent volume? like these will seriously make you deaf within minutes at max volume, if the speakers dont fry first.
Hi @gamesky I was looking for a great ANC earbuds under 200 bucks but without a long stem style (i just don’t like that design) and I wanted to ask you about some recommendations. I was thinking about the beats fit pros, these skullcandy rails but I’m open to anything that have a nice dynamic/bass oriented sound
Great video as always. I was gonna get the xt version but a better deal came from best buy for me. They sound great out the box and even with some fine tuning it enhanced the sound. I was gonna end the year either replacing my linkbuds s I lost the other week or the soundcore liberty 4nc but I do not regret this purchase at all.
I’ll be impressed when Skullcandy can actually make a decent earbud that can recharge without malfunctioning. I’ve had different styles and every single model has the same recharge deficiency. They will connect to your Bluetooth when they are in the case, won’t recharge and eventually just die because they are unable to maintain or take a charge. They seem like a money saver but with constantly having to return them it is not. Save yourself the anguish and buy other earbuds.
Honestly I will never buy these pieces of crap over again they're not that loud for some reason now when I put them on the charger one of them charges higher than the other and the other one takes a pain in the ass to actually charge 100 bucks is a ripoff for these pieces of garbage
Can someone help me? How can I remove this voice talking to me? I never had this before in earbuds a voice prompt telling me how much battery is left. Really annoying...
I had a bittersweet experience with the normal Rail version (non-ANC) of these headphones because one of the two earphones, the left one, discharged and that was a factory defect. I don't know if this version has the same factory defect. Can anyone confirm if that issue has already been resolved in this new version?
If you bought them within a year, you can send them back to Skullcandy, and they’ll send you the same model, free of charge, I have not used this tho because all my Skullcandy products are up to par, but that options there
Mine aren't currently charging within the case, I think they suck, but it was my favorite at the current moment sounds better than the Beats Studio buds
Mine keep connecting when in the case, essentially muting my entire phone. Is there a fix for this? Also I’ll have it randomly switch between the hearing modes with no input.
Yeah the price for them is ridiculous they're not really all that well these were $100 when I got them and then I actually had a better pair that were 50
Because the Indy Evo/gen e Indy yes headphones with the paired app didn't disappoint. At least when properly linked with the Skullcandy app and you know your ear buds tap controls . Which (for me regardless of the multi connection and the apps model link adjustable features being customized they are basically the precursor to the Rail ANC based on my experience. I'm also a DAW user and a electronic music producer so I can be a bit picky I won't lie. But I'll for sure look at my local S.C dealer locations to snatch these and compare
I bought a pair of SKULLCANDY DIME 2, N they def sound pretty good to me considering I'm a SKULLCANDY fan, n had a pair of Beatz that I def rather have SKULLCANDY all day everyday
The Indy ANCs were better. Rail ANC barely blocks out anything, the case feels "cheap", and it doesn't have an indicator for how much battery life it has. The earbuds are a little easier to put in, but that's about it.
I really like their Dime XT headphones. Amazing sound quality for $28 so if you lose them it doesn't hurt to just grab another pair. My only complaint is you have to clean them often otherwise the sound can become dampened.
Bought the Dime 1 off of a gaming store back in highschool, been around 2-3 years, left earbud recently started malfunctioning but i can just buy a left earbud lol, everything else is fine, maybe the battery lasts less and the case's battery gets depleted faster by the earbuds turning on and off while inside the case, which is weird. But, pretty good earbuds that will last a year or so, these promise a lot and i might upgrade.
@@OfficialGamesky Thanks for letting me know before I spent more $$$ - I have the AirPod Pro 2nd Gen, and the Bose QCii - thinking about getting the Sony XM5 ( but not sure I want to spend another $300 )
I just picked up this pair for the gym so hopefully they're pretty good from what I've seen I seen that Skullcandy is doing the special edition Ninja Turtles ones too might also pick those up also
Ive always thought skullcandy had pretty good quality sound especially in their lower budget pairs compared to other companies. I had the grind fuel for about a year just cause i didnt maintain them and the other pair for like $35 were also really good
Nice review, I just picked up a pair of these and noticed you didn’t discuss the “personal sound” function on the app. It uses tech from the mimi app to create a sound experience tailored to your audiogram. I lost partial hearing in one ear so I’ve jumped into this rabbit hole of really customized hearing tech. You should try it and discuss it in another video. Even if you’re not hearing impaired I’m willing to bet it will improve the sound these produce.
I use the personal sound feature on my Skullcandy earbuds, and I was very impressed on how much better they sounded. Most of those features on other air buds doesn’t do it for me, but this one really made a difference.
How come you guys miss this jewel out of your rankings? I’ve tried so many recommended and yet tried this Rail ANC 2! Man so good that it prompts me to return my brand new EarFun Free pro 2 which are also great but to my taste the Rail is my winner by far. Of course I’m bit bias being spoiled by the Crusher ANC 2! Hey I’m 67 and missed so much the sound of my prog concerts and nothing I’ve tried comme close to what SkullCandy delivers! The bass live as well of that so famous Moog Bass pedal synth sound man… I’m back in front row listening to Genesis, Yes, Floyd, ELP, Crimson and many more…
Thanks...I was just at the store considering them lol what do you not like about them? I value sound quality and I'd like them to have controls on the buds instead of me pulling out my phone all the time..and fit obviously

They have different driver sizes
rail anc (non-xt) are also listed as ipx4 on the skullcandy web site.
They should have called these the ANC crusher minis because the bass mode is intense
