I thought it was poetically touching that her last song was the main theme of the Fontaine region. Simply titled “Fontaine” in the OST. All of her dances were from her nation, for her nation.
Past archons have had their themes match their region’s theme too (Raiden, Nahida)! I think this is the best indicator that Furina is still considered an archon. What do you think?

Furina is just human. She lived for 500 years convincing everyone around her while also filling the role of a god. She is forced to keep up a facade that everything is alright despite her body being so exhausted that she didn't even noticed herself crying. That is one of the worst fate anyone could go through.
Another sacrifice... Makoto, Deshret, Nabu Malitka, Rukkhadevata and now Focalors. Just how many more sacrifices needed to resist against that goddamn Celestia.
@@tuanld91 It is strongly implied Celestia is currently dormant for whatever reason, everything in Teyvat seems to be running on autopilot. I wouldn't be too surprised if the dormancy turned out to be permanant.
@@FlutterSwag And Tsaritsa's Gnosis collection too now. I was in support of rebel against Celestia ever since Dragonspine and Khaenriah lore dropped. That revelation about Gnosis shaked the entire plot. Those chess pieces should be yeeted from existence. Not only they're just useless steroids and forces to keep connection with Celestia, keeping it might bring even huge tragedy.
I think it's sad that in game Furina isn't rewarded or given credit by the people of Fontaine. She was just given a place to stay and nothing more and worse is that she is being hated by some people because she deceived them. She single handedly saved a whole nation for 500 years. Not even once did she think for herself. She stayed true to her role to protect Fontaine and its people.
I mean the people still adore and respect her, they believe that she used up all her powers to save everyone. The only people who dislike her are the civilians from Poisson who have a reason to do so as their loved ones were the only ones who died and Furina didn't save them.
Never once in the Archon Quest or Furina story quest, it is mentioned that her secret has been revealed to the people of Fontaine, so it's might not be so strange how they treated her, even the people of Poisson still resented her for doing nothing to prevent the disaster. I don't know why Neuvilette didn't tell everyone, neither Focalors or Furina told him to keep it a secret anymore, but I guess he has a reason to not share it with the citizens. I really hope Neuvilette disclose this information to the people of Fontaine in a future version, and everyone ask her to become their Archon once more.

In a way, furina did EVERYTHING she could as an actor to persuade Fontaine she is an archon, but ultimately fails after the trials and tribulations of enduring the whole and complete truth from “birth”, and the enactment of the prophecy. The comedy being that focalors has found a loophole for the prophecy outside of furinas knowledge is what makes it the “comedy”. That only half of the party is “in on the joke”
Neuvillette crying and forgiving Fontanians' sin is something so touching and full of sorrow, and this song fits so well that I have goosebumps. I love this game
the moment furina and focalor dance sync together it means that they become one for a moment. a true hydro archon.. but in the end she bid farewell making furina a true human without curse.. she got short hair and darkblue dress. indicating she lost the divinity.. just a normal girl

@@ALL_FOR_NOTHING_ and thats a nice detail since when you finish her story quest , she got a hydro vision from neuviletter for her deeds(even though the seat of the hydro archon is destroyed) which in some sense restored some of her divine trait (the twin hair and some of the white outline of her outfit when you change to ousial form in her gameplay) but by no means she isnt an archon anymore she is a vision holder and in jp vision translate to (gods heart) kami wo kokoro , so in a sense she has become one with her divinity, but not in a way we though how it would play ,but she is not an archon anymore cause the hydro archon seat has been destroyed
The fact that she didn't even flinch when the sword came down is heartbreaking. Even if she was scared, she had to do what she had to. Her life came up to this moment and she did it with grace. This is why you're one of my favorite Archons, Focalor. 😢😢😭😭☹️☹️😥😥
Furina is the best archon fontaine can have, even her constellation confirm it. Even though she is "different" than the other archons, she has the same thematic on her constallation symbol just like the other archons.
@@nothingtoseehere9279 basically Furina physical body is also Focalor physical body. she can be an archon again if she want to but that will make her life worse or even whole Fontaine will prone to the same prophecy again. Focalor wants to be a human so she leaves the physical body and let her past self which is Furina to carry on as a human.
The violin after Focalor's sacrifice hitted me. And when the violin became louder as the song transitioned to Neuvillette's theme showing how sad he truly was really made me cry 😭. Nice Work! Edit: The violin was more dominant in this version. That basically amplified the sadness of the scene... Its so good that I still cry when I hear the part...🥲
idrk musical terms much so I'll just try my best to describe, i also love how the entire theme where neuvelitte forgives the sins ends on a downward note? It makes it sound more sad, like despite the amazing thing he just did he's full on grieving
I thought it would be bad if I cried, but when I Neuvillette shed tears when he flew to the sky, I knew I had to do the same. This cutscene hands down is one of the saddest cutscenes we ever had in Genshin, if not the saddest
The way slowly ramps up, and the strong vibrato feels like it emulates crying, they did this with the flute part too in for riddles for wonders, it's amazing
When I watched this scene with this music and Focalors' farewell dance, tears came to my eyes. When they showed Furina's life all these 500 years of actually Hell, I started to cry. 500 years..... Long 500 years. Damn, give me the opportunity to use fire and sword on this damn Celestia.
Focalors must've felt so lonely this entire time. Gathering Indemnitium inside Oratrice to use as a guillotine to execute herself. I hope she find comfort with Neuvilette watching her final performance.
God the music swelling while remaining somber when Neuvillete forgives Fontaine’s sins is so good. It’s such an excellent culmination of his character arc - going from admitting to Navia that he thought Callas was guilty because he couldn’t imagine someone prioritizing another’s life more highly than their own to witnessing Focalor sacrifice herself for all her people, unable to do more than trust and rely on him to do so while embodying her own Justice - so very close to what Neuvillete himself espoused what he now believed Justice to be at the end of the second act, but amplified tenfold.
What’s amazing to me is that the brief and tragic encounter with focalors was enough to deeply root my love and appreciation for her story. Even though we only met her at the very end, her immensity of her sacrifice was felt. And she did it with so much grace and confidence, which just made it that much more sad.
In case you didn't notice. This isn't the first time they used a leitmotif of Fontaine's theme. They did it in the trial court judging Furina and also when Freminet and Lyney are saving the people drowning. I like that, like saying Fontaine's theme doesn't represent the city but all of Fontaine in general, their culture, their people and their god.
The only thing that annoys me about Furina is how surprisingly altruistic she can be and how little she loves herself, even in her character conversation she admits to you that she was mentally abusing herself a lot until not long ago and now she tries to go shopping to distract herself with nonsense since, basically, it is therapeutic for her. When the traveler wanted her to tell him the truth she wondered if she had the right to be a little selfish, when they brought her "primordial water" to check if she was an archon, even though it wasn't primordial water, she thought she was and although She knew the effect that water has on mortals, she was willing to sacrifice her life and put her hand in primordial water... Implying that to keep her secret and be able to save Fontaine... She would give her life. When everything was over, Furina packed up her things like a normal human and went to live in a home in very terrible conditions, far from everything and without a drop of credit for what she did. This is explained in texts when you have her as a character. Clorinde decides to visit her and was petrified when she saw the conditions in which she lived. It was from there that Furina got a better home and all expenses were covered by Neuvillete and are still covered by him but what makes me sad is that if it were up to her, she wouldn't mind living in terrible conditions. As a reflection of Furina's psychology, I can say that she has little self-love towards herself.
Well, come to think of it, the entire nation's existence lied on her shoulders. She may be a human but she still regained Focalors goodwill towards the people of her nation. Her altruism comes from the fact that Focalors and Furina both sre same individual, archons who want to protect their people.
Thank you for this, ngl this archon quest made me cry when the Focalors did the Dance of Sacrifice and when Furina was stuck these 500 years, crying in pain and couldn't even share her feelings with anyone cuz if she do, all her hardwork would wash away, and then, when the truth came out, she just stopped trying and sat down on the chair and only cried because she knew that now she can't do anything and all that work of 500 years is washed away, that made me cry and also when the screen appears "Thank you, Furina for everything you've done, please live happily as a human, just as I wished we could" It made me cry hard ngl
I'm not sure why, but why are people so confused? Focalors (formerly oceanid turned human by Egeria, former hydro archon) separated her divinity and body. She gave her human body the name Furina. That is why Furina, the game's character, has two modes and two alternate eye designs. Furina Mode: The dark blue, short-haired individual has strong performance abilities and is upbeat and lively. Focalors: The white, long hair, heal skill (ocean) design exudes ethereality. I believe the Focalors who needed to govern Fontaine always had a desire to be human, spend time with her people, and perform (she enjoys music). They are the same. Literally, Focalors could have combined self to her body (Furina) again as she always wanted to be human...but she had a task which was to stop the prophecy, save her nation, and return Neuvilette's authority and full power by deceiving the heavenly principles and destroying the hydro archon throne.
I'm really happy someone was able to create a remake of this! It was my favorite OST from the entire AQ so I'm glad I can listen to the instrumental in the background while I do my work, so thank you for all your time! I've also seen some comments in regards to how the thumbnail and title may be a spoiler. In that regards, I think "Focalors Farewell" would work just as well if not better than "Focalors Sacrifice" since it sounds a bit more ambiguous and there are already a few cutscene videos titled similarly. As for the thumbnail, maybe a picture of Furina's hat on the ground or Neuvillette crying? Honestly, I don't think there's really any way to title or thumbnail this in a manner that completely avoids any and every spoiler so that really sucks, but I hope you can find a good resolve because I would hate to see you get hate for something like that

I've changed the title to what you suggested! Hopefully it's better fitting. I've kept the thumbnail the same since I figured people who've played the quest will know what it is, and people who haven't won't. Like you said, it's hard to title or thumbnail the video that completely avoids any spoiler without making it impossible to find for people who want to find it... this will naturally resolve with time, but I thank you for your comment!
This is my favourite ost in genshin, for some time it was the ost from dragonspine, but ever since i heard this in Focalors' final scene this became very special to me. It has everything, wonder, magic, playfulness, mystery, drama, sadness, nostalgia. It perfectly encaptured the scene, was perfect for Furina/Focalors and for Neuvillette with that unmistakable Fontainian touch.

I've NEVER cried over genshin so hard. Fontaine is the only thing that made me cry during whole my genshin journey, I was literally bawling my eyes out 😭
I feel a deep sense of pity for folcalors and furina... seeing her cry like that made me cry harder than rukkhadevatas erasure from irmunsul.. but theres something i realised. Only the gods of their own nation has the same theme but here you can see both furina and folcalors having the themes that matches their own nation.
i genuinely dont know if its recency bias but i wholeheartedly believe fontaine was the best in terms of story and characters. i never cried during a genshin story until Fontaine. Furina became my favorite character over the course of the story
I wish we could see more of Focalors, this left me in the dark, it was so short and heartbreaking but I think that was the intended effect. A play you must act perfectly for 500 years, that must be why we never see much of Focalors. I wish we could've seen her more, what she likes to do in her free time, what kind of ideals she has. Everything was just so quick...
I think this is the reason they made Rukkhadevata look identical to Nahida, so the visual focus wouldn't take away from the playable character as much.
I know, I was already so sad for when Nahida had to say bye to Rukhadevata, and then to see Focalors and Furina never meet each other once Fontaine is saved was even worse 😭 now I’m scared of what we can expect for the next archon quests
I find it fascinating that last Focalors dance is performed to lighter version of Opera Epiclese theme. Opera Epiclese's place where fates are decided, so it has a heavy theme OST, tho it is place where Focalors fate is performed. Her fate is already decided, so her theme is lighter. She knows what will happen to her so she has no doubts and dances along.

It's been awhile that Hoyo made me cry over some cutseen or animation that they made over the past years even Focalors is just a new character like Elysia in Honkai made such an appealing storyline even for a short period of time they made an amazing connection to the game
I’m grateful the of archons acknowledge her sacrifice and all she did to save all of fontain. They don’t care if she’s human, to them she is just as mighty as a god, and they welcome her with open arms. After all, they know the pain from a gods perspective, so they can understand all the pain a human would have to go through. Fontain may never know her true sacrifice and all she did just so they could live another day; but the archons know, and they are just so proud of her They better invite my girl to a goddamn tea party
I honestly think this is where Genshin's story was at its absolute best. It made an entire fandom suddenly change their opinion of a character that, before that, was completely hated, and then, it changed to a "Please forgive me..." in complete unison. And then, made everyone cry. A totally heartbreaking grief, after realizing that we hold hatred a character who, behind the scenes, did everything she could, and even what she couldn't, to save everyone... and who at the end thought that all her efforts were in complete vain. And it made us realize that, by accident... we had become the villains to her... And the music just made it... *_PERFECT..._*

I just finished this quest yesterday and i can just say tht it was so beautiful- i definitely dint cry😔 Furina needs a hug she put on a mask for 500 years il love her sm Im so glad she can live normally now and also when neuvillete had to do the judgement and it was raining heavily🤧🤧 i couldnt stop tearing and the focalors- i just loved this quest
Focalors's death hit me so hard that I started to cry all the way down to the end of the quest. She chose to sacrificed herself for her people. Everything she wanted was just to become a human and live the life she dreamed for. Then she let Furina exist, gave her a human form that she wished she could be. Furina was forced to play a role as a Hydro Archon for 500 hundred years. She is just a human! How can a human heart could stand still for this cruel torture? Even if she was free to be a human, the role she played this 500 hundred years will become her haunt until the last day of her life. For Neuvillete, his friend was gone in front of his eyes. We all could feel the sadness when he was talking with Forcalor and by the expression on his face. He didn't know much about human emotion, yet his voice showed how painful he was. At the end of this scene, everything we saw was Neuvillete's loneliness. He was standing there without anyone by his side...
My favourites are Focalors sacrifice theme in the “Sinner’s Finale” cutscene and “Bird Call From Afar”! They’re both so touching and sad, it makes me really feel the emotions they try to convey.
This archon story was actually the one that gave me some tears on my eyes 😢😢 Poor Furina crying in her room after some decades without being able to finish her performance and waiting for the final stage and waitting crying and doing her best to keep the act 😢😢😢

For real! Just a few minutes into the archon quest, starting with Navia on the verge of crying, i was already starting tp tear up. When she finally said that Melus and Silver were never coming back, i broke.

We sat and watched focalore Dance her death to joy… to save everyone from water And watched furina dance her emotions and pain, like as if it was nothing… We just watched, all we did was watch. This is by far the most emotional scene in genshin in my opinion. Face with death, I find myself a little afraid The honesty and truth behind it. Being venerable and admitting what’s in your heart, to someone who can listen to you for more than 5 minutes, is all it takes

Never once in the Archon Quest or Furina story quest, it is mentioned that her secret has been revealed to the people of Fontaine, so it's might not be so strange how they treated her, even the people of Poisson still resented her for doing nothing to prevent the disaster. I don't know why Neuvilette didn't tell everyone, neither Focalors or Furina told him to keep it a secret anymore, but I guess he has a reason to not share it with the citizens.
I really hope Neuvilette disclose this information to the people of Fontaine in a future version, and everyone ask her to become their Archon once more.

The comedy being that focalors has found a loophole for the prophecy outside of furinas knowledge is what makes it the “comedy”.
That only half of the party is “in on the joke”

@@ALL_FOR_NOTHING_ and thats a nice detail since when you finish her story quest , she got a hydro vision from neuviletter for her deeds(even though the seat of the hydro archon is destroyed) which in some sense restored some of her divine trait (the twin hair and some of the white outline of her outfit when you change to ousial form in her gameplay) but by no means she isnt an archon anymore she is a vision holder and in jp vision translate to (gods heart) kami wo kokoro , so in a sense she has become one with her divinity, but not in a way we though how it would play ,but she is not an archon anymore cause the hydro archon seat has been destroyed
The fact that she didn't even flinch when the sword came down is heartbreaking. Even if she was scared, she had to do what she had to. Her life came up to this moment and she did it with grace. This is why you're one of my favorite Archons, Focalor. 😢😢😭😭☹️☹️😥😥
Furina is the best archon fontaine can have, even her constellation confirm it.
Even though she is "different" than the other archons, she has the same thematic on her constallation symbol just like the other archons.

The violin after Focalor's sacrifice hitted me. And when the violin became louder as the song transitioned to Neuvillette's theme showing how sad he truly was really made me cry 😭. Nice Work!

She can’t feel lonely, as that’s a human emotion, she left that to Furina only to feel
God the music swelling while remaining somber when Neuvillete forgives Fontaine’s sins is so good. It’s such an excellent culmination of his character arc - going from admitting to Navia that he thought Callas was guilty because he couldn’t imagine someone prioritizing another’s life more highly than their own to witnessing Focalor sacrifice herself for all her people, unable to do more than trust and rely on him to do so while embodying her own Justice - so very close to what Neuvillete himself espoused what he now believed Justice to be at the end of the second act, but amplified tenfold.
What’s amazing to me is that the brief and tragic encounter with focalors was enough to deeply root my love and appreciation for her story. Even though we only met her at the very end, her immensity of her sacrifice was felt. And she did it with so much grace and confidence, which just made it that much more sad.
In case you didn't notice. This isn't the first time they used a leitmotif of Fontaine's theme. They did it in the trial court judging Furina and also when Freminet and Lyney are saving the people drowning. I like that, like saying Fontaine's theme doesn't represent the city but all of Fontaine in general, their culture, their people and their god.
The only thing that annoys me about Furina is how surprisingly altruistic she can be and how little she loves herself, even in her character conversation she admits to you that she was mentally abusing herself a lot until not long ago and now she tries to go shopping to distract herself with nonsense since, basically, it is therapeutic for her.
When the traveler wanted her to tell him the truth she wondered if she had the right to be a little selfish, when they brought her "primordial water" to check if she was an archon, even though it wasn't primordial water, she thought she was and although She knew the effect that water has on mortals, she was willing to sacrifice her life and put her hand in primordial water... Implying that to keep her secret and be able to save Fontaine... She would give her life.
When everything was over, Furina packed up her things like a normal human and went to live in a home in very terrible conditions, far from everything and without a drop of credit for what she did.
This is explained in texts when you have her as a character.
Clorinde decides to visit her and was petrified when she saw the conditions in which she lived.
It was from there that Furina got a better home and all expenses were covered by Neuvillete and are still covered by him but what makes me sad is that if it were up to her, she wouldn't mind living in terrible conditions.
As a reflection of Furina's psychology, I can say that she has little self-love towards herself.
Well, come to think of it, the entire nation's existence lied on her shoulders. She may be a human but she still regained Focalors goodwill towards the people of her nation. Her altruism comes from the fact that Focalors and Furina both sre same individual, archons who want to protect their people.

Thank you for this, ngl this archon quest made me cry when the Focalors did the Dance of Sacrifice and when Furina was stuck these 500 years, crying in pain and couldn't even share her feelings with anyone cuz if she do, all her hardwork would wash away, and then, when the truth came out, she just stopped trying and sat down on the chair and only cried because she knew that now she can't do anything and all that work of 500 years is washed away, that made me cry and also when the screen appears "Thank you, Furina for everything you've done, please live happily as a human, just as I wished we could" It made me cry hard ngl

I'm not sure why, but why are people so confused? Focalors (formerly oceanid turned human by Egeria, former hydro archon) separated her divinity and body. She gave her human body the name Furina. That is why Furina, the game's character, has two modes and two alternate eye designs. Furina Mode: The dark blue, short-haired individual has strong performance abilities and is upbeat and lively. Focalors: The white, long hair, heal skill (ocean) design exudes ethereality. I believe the Focalors who needed to govern Fontaine always had a desire to be human, spend time with her people, and perform (she enjoys music). They are the same. Literally, Focalors could have combined self to her body (Furina) again as she always wanted to be human...but she had a task which was to stop the prophecy, save her nation, and return Neuvilette's authority and full power by deceiving the heavenly principles and destroying the hydro archon throne.
I'm really happy someone was able to create a remake of this! It was my favorite OST from the entire AQ so I'm glad I can listen to the instrumental in the background while I do my work, so thank you for all your time!
I've also seen some comments in regards to how the thumbnail and title may be a spoiler. In that regards, I think "Focalors Farewell" would work just as well if not better than "Focalors Sacrifice" since it sounds a bit more ambiguous and there are already a few cutscene videos titled similarly. As for the thumbnail, maybe a picture of Furina's hat on the ground or Neuvillette crying? Honestly, I don't think there's really any way to title or thumbnail this in a manner that completely avoids any and every spoiler so that really sucks, but I hope you can find a good resolve because I would hate to see you get hate for something like that

This is my favourite ost in genshin, for some time it was the ost from dragonspine, but ever since i heard this in Focalors' final scene this became very special to me.
It has everything, wonder, magic, playfulness, mystery, drama, sadness, nostalgia. It perfectly encaptured the scene, was perfect for Furina/Focalors and for Neuvillette with that unmistakable Fontainian touch.

Only the gods of their own nation has the same theme but here you can see both furina and folcalors having the themes that matches their own nation.

i genuinely dont know if its recency bias but i wholeheartedly believe fontaine was the best in terms of story and characters. i never cried during a genshin story until Fontaine. Furina became my favorite character over the course of the story
I wish we could see more of Focalors, this left me in the dark, it was so short and heartbreaking but I think that was the intended effect. A play you must act perfectly for 500 years, that must be why we never see much of Focalors. I wish we could've seen her more, what she likes to do in her free time, what kind of ideals she has. Everything was just so quick...
I think this is the reason they made Rukkhadevata look identical to Nahida, so the visual focus wouldn't take away from the playable character as much.

I find it fascinating that last Focalors dance is performed to lighter version of Opera Epiclese theme. Opera Epiclese's place where fates are decided, so it has a heavy theme OST, tho it is place where Focalors fate is performed. Her fate is already decided, so her theme is lighter. She knows what will happen to her so she has no doubts and dances along.

It's been awhile that Hoyo made me cry over some cutseen or animation that they made over the past years even Focalors is just a new character like Elysia in Honkai made such an appealing storyline even for a short period of time they made an amazing connection to the game
I’m grateful the of archons acknowledge her sacrifice and all she did to save all of fontain.
They don’t care if she’s human, to them she is just as mighty as a god, and they welcome her with open arms. After all, they know the pain from a gods perspective, so they can understand all the pain a human would have to go through.
Fontain may never know her true sacrifice and all she did just so they could live another day; but the archons know, and they are just so proud of her

It made an entire fandom suddenly change their opinion of a character that, before that, was completely hated, and then, it changed to a "Please forgive me..." in complete unison.
And then, made everyone cry. A totally heartbreaking grief, after realizing that we hold hatred a character who, behind the scenes, did everything she could, and even what she couldn't, to save everyone... and who at the end thought that all her efforts were in complete vain.
And it made us realize that, by accident... we had become the villains to her...

Focalors's death hit me so hard that I started to cry all the way down to the end of the quest. She chose to sacrificed herself for her people. Everything she wanted was just to become a human and live the life she dreamed for. Then she let Furina exist, gave her a human form that she wished she could be. Furina was forced to play a role as a Hydro Archon for 500 hundred years. She is just a human! How can a human heart could stand still for this cruel torture? Even if she was free to be a human, the role she played this 500 hundred years will become her haunt until the last day of her life. For Neuvillete, his friend was gone in front of his eyes. We all could feel the sadness when he was talking with Forcalor and by the expression on his face. He didn't know much about human emotion, yet his voice showed how painful he was. At the end of this scene, everything we saw was Neuvillete's loneliness. He was standing there without anyone by his side...
My favourites are Focalors sacrifice theme in the “Sinner’s Finale” cutscene and “Bird Call From Afar”! They’re both so touching and sad, it makes me really feel the emotions they try to convey.
This archon story was actually the one that gave me some tears on my eyes 😢😢

Fontaines arc was a masterpiece it was the best one for me the region has been a longtime favorite for me and now the archon story there too
