I find it extremely entertaining that people consider any place in that area to be bad, I live in Orlando Florida.. maybe im used to the insanity. But everywhere we visited in Idaho, even what was considered "bad areas" and saw nothing but nice areas. Just kind of funny how perspective changes things

Do you have any rentals? I’m looking to leave Nebraska and head that way possibly. I own a small concrete business and want to get a job for a little while first and then maybe try my luck at rehab construction. Our state has turned so blue and cost of living for what you get isn’t worth it.

Your best bet to find a rental is Zillow, but make sure you communicate with the owner or manager, don't fall victim to online scammers!

What is the land like trees few green grass tumbleweeds etc. Is it desert? Looks pretty flat thinking of moving there Apt. Living. And another friend wanted to hear about weather and the landscape..My son has a home in Meridian. Thank you for your video.

I'm glad you found it useful! It depends on the which area but in general the Boise area is going to be pretty flat and desert like. We have mountains all the way around us for the most part so it is like a giant bowl. In areas where people have watered and next to rivers there can be lots of vegetation (cottonwoods, elm trees, brush, grass). In some of the more established and older subdivisions, especially south of downtown caldwell there are very cute, tree-lined streets. Like i said however it is going to be mainly desert. We have all the four seasons, this year we had a very mild winter, I only had to use my snow shovel one time. Spring is about the only time we have rain unless we get precipitation in the fall/winter when it isn't quite cold enough to turn to snow. The summers can get fairly hot and we do not get hardly any rain during the summer.

@@sherryB5 There aren't many occasions when you are going to hear that the boise area has more rain than somewhere else but I think that is going to be the only exception lol! Although this area is high desert, the Boise Metro is not a dust bowl and not very windy. Boise is actually called "The City of Trees" as we have a lot of trees planted and it might not be a big deal in other areas in the country, but having trees around here is a big deal as we do have to plant and water them in order to have them around here. 🙃🌳

If anyone reads this....I'd like to have some bare bones honest input from Idahoans :).....I live in the Los Angeles area, and am NOT in line with the socialist agenda here and it is getting worse every year. I never have been, buit am a California girl, born here, and I love my state for many reasons. But it is now totally unlivable, especially still raising a family. I have homeschooled my 7 children from birth, so they are not as affected as public schooled kids. But I have my last daughter and it's too bad here to stay. I won't go into the many things that led us top the Caldwell area, but it was much more than just randomly choosing on a map. We are very interested in the Caldweel.Nampa/Meridian area, and will take a trip up soon to check it out. However...we have heard from MANY many people that Idahoans have a very negative view of Californians relocating. I do understand the basics - raising real estate prices etc. I've heard that for 30 years (UT, AZ, ID, etc). I would understand if it is people wanting to create "another CA"...I wouldn't like that either. But what about folks who are leaving CA because we DO NOT like those negative aspects?? There are so many families who want a better life and a better place to raise our families. I would welcome and encourage that in my community! The more conscientious parents/families that CARE...the better. We are told all the time "if you move there, get ID plates on your car ASAP! No one likes Californians!". My daughter has a friend from ID in an online class...a 13 year old boy even told her that "change your CA plates fast!". OK...sorry so long. I'd love some honest input. If families want a better life, want to leave a bad area for a better one, and are anxious to be positive members of your community - why the unwelcoming response?? Thanks :)

HI Suzi! Thank is a great question. You are definitely not alone in how you feel about wanting to leave California for reasons like you mentioned. That is why 99% of people are moving to Idaho from California as well as Oregon and Washington. Essentially fleeing from overreaching governments. I wish I could say that everybody is welcoming with opening arms however there are always a few bad apples in the group. The main reason that people are upset about it is seeing the small Idaho growing and the associated growing pains that come with it. I'm an avid hunter and there are fields, which I used to hunt that are now covered with homes and sprawling developments. Change is inevitable as well as growth and some wouldn't like to believe it. I have a client who has their 1 year "Moving to Idaho" anniversary coming up and her family has only had one instance where somebody was not nice to them. Her story is here ruclips.net/video/Fr2iZ3Lxo30/видео.html . I'd be more than happy to chat with you over the phone as it isn't quite as easy to convey the perfect answer over texting. My phone number is 208 - 571 - 5387.

I found this video because my Real Estate friend sent it to me as we discuss whether we are going to tough it out here in the socialist state of WA or bail while our teen still has a chance at a semi free life.
