With the Airforce setting, bleach blonde fighter, and the original theme they wanted to use (ken's) sounding almost identical to the chorus medley from Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick which is on the Top Gun Soundtrack. Funnily enough, Guile's character and stage is based on Top Gun, and Cheap Trick did a song for the soundtrack of that motion picture. The composer of Street Fighter 2 created what became Ken's theme from that song in the movie.
