Here's my biggest gripe with Funko lately, with things like the older One Piece or most recently Walgreens General Grievous, is them releasing Pops from many years ago. I think EVERY Funko pop, whether it be exclusive or common, should have a 3 year production run MAX. Make em for 3 years (or less), vault them (and stick to it), and move on never to produce them again and actually bring some collectability back to this hobby instead of having the only things worth a hoot anymore being older pieces. Releasing pops from SIX years ago sets a really bad precedent, because who knows what they could re-release next? It's scary for collectors, even if you're not collecting "for the value", this is still an investment, whether you like it or not.

My biggest issue with Funko is the length of time it takes to announce things. We don’t want 7 days of reveals 7 days before an event. We are not all made of money and have enough disposable income a week before an event. Announce them earlier so we can plan accordingly!

Great video! Lots of fun pops. My biggest thing right now is ive seen a few older pops get rereleases. I was so excited recently to finally add General Grevious to my collection and all of a month later they rereleased it. It wasnt the most expensive pop out there but I spent plenty of time holding my finger off the trigger to find one in great shape. It did have some value and I was excited for it. Now its a bit of a bummer with a fresh batch out there. Solution is to respect that most of the customer base out there are collectors. Thats funkos thing. They need to respect that and not rerelease pops. Defeats the purpose.
Re-releases are a huge let down for most people. Few people are excited to buy the pop for retail, but it pisses off all of the collectors who already own the pop. I agree with you there. It definitely also makes people hesitant to buy more pops in the future. Thanks for the comment Kaylor 🙌🏻

One thing I would change about Funko is receiving box damage Pops from Funko Shop. No not talking about damage to shipping box during shipping. Talking about someone in the warehouse putting a pre damage pop into a package to be sent out. Seen this happened to many people myself included. Not a single reason Funko should send any paying customer something it was damaged in the warehouse. Solution maybe have a damaged pop section up on Funko shop. Where they are all discounted and they'd be perfect for out-of-box collectors so they don't have to pay full price for an item coming out of box anyway.
A damaged section is a great idea! But yes there’s no reason for items to be coming damaged directly from Funko when it’s clearly not the fault of the post office. Thanks Sam, great point.

Not a big deal but the Herman Munster pop you showed you said was from Universal Monsters line.. it is actually just just Herman Munster from the Munsters TV Show just for reference :). Loved the video some really cool grails I definitely would love to get alot of the Rebels Pops line and complete that but a few of those are pretty pricey. Keep up the great work as always :)

I'm a small collector so I don't have to much of a beef with Funko. The only thing I wish they would do is finish some of the character lines they started, example: Kiss Soda. Ghostbuster Soda.

I think my biggest frustration with Funko currently is the fact that they don't ship their own products with care. I understand that they are a business & that in their minds, the box condition shouldn't matter since their collectibles are also okay out of box. However, them selling protectors proves that condition does matter. There has been way too many issues with their shipping lately. People receiving damaged items or incorrect items and sometimes, no resolution is provided.
They really need to do better. I believe that they should stop releasing so much and focus on their current issues and make improvements.
I think for this issue, it would be best for their employees to be fans of their products. That way they assure proper handling of their products and they can also have better suggestions of what to produce. Rather than producing so much and having shelf warmers.
Despite everything that frustrates me about their handling lately, I am still a fan of Funko. I miss the feeling of acquiring items that were fast sell outs and having to hunt for things.
I really miss the adrenaline that came with hunting for limited funkos. I relate to everything you said, thank you.

Great video some great finds at the flea market. Personally I am very mixed on the no piece count sodas. I like the molds for most of the figures and I think they are a lot easier to find. However I feel that doing the no piece count is pushing a lot of collectors away from sodas, which isn’t great for the future of sodas in general.
The molds have been great for some of the no piece counts sodas but yes I have seen a lot of collectors shy away from buying them strictly because of the no piece count. Thanks for watching Trevor 🙌🏻
There's a few things I can think of. reusing the same mold for lazy exclusives, non piece count sodas, but the biggest issue I have now with Funko is the shipping, seems they are doing less every year to protect their product in transit. Miss those individual sorters.
The lazy molds is a huge issue. Just look at all the Freddy Sodas from the Box of Fun. It’s crazy how much money we give to funko to just receive the exact same mold just painted differently.
@@FunkoSlywolf definitely agree on those sodas being lazy. For Pops I was more or less referring to them making an alternate version of each common they make. Using the exact same mold and just making something glow or Metallic or flocked. Like we don't need 3 versions of 1 mold, feels like a money grab.
@@serbas2244 that’s so true! I’m a huge anime collector and this is a huge problem with every anime line and I know if they are doing it to anime lines they are doing it to other lines
@@FunkoSlywolf for sure with the anime. I'm a One piece, Demon Slayer and MHA collector. And this last wave of MHA they went hard on doing that.
Those lazy molds aren't too great for the company. Hopefully they do better!

Great video John and Joana - thank you. I totally understand that Funko need to clean up their own backyard first, there are lots of issues that need to be dealt with locally. In the big picture I would love them to consider the international collectors. We, like everyone in the US love collecting, so why make it so hard for us to do so. Other companies have managed to organise international shipping and a huge company like Funko should have no problem shipping outside of the US. Maybe one day this will be reality hopefully with their new structure that will be something that is considered. In the interim, just ship a range of all exclusives and limited pieces to specific international stores so that those items can be made available to every collector worldwide. (Sometimes these items just sit in the Funko store, so, why not make them available). Making it fair for all collectors.

AussiePopGal, I agree with this. It’s crazy to me that Funko still does not do shipping for international collectors. Funko is well aware that there are collectors outside the US but still ignores that issue. I really hope Funko address that soon and finds away to do international shipping to help everyone not in the US with their collection.

That’s a great point! Yes there are so many international collectors, especially in Canada. Need a Canadian Fundays with some pond hockey and sponsored by Tom Horton’s!! I would be there so fast 😂
One thing I wish Funko would fix is their social media presence with the community. An easy fix would be to bring back the photo a day challenge. That was one thing I liked cause it challenged collectors to bring their imagination to the funko world and it’s also a good business strategy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Heck Id just settle for them responding to comments on Facebook and Instagram posts of theirs. Something they hardly ever do.
Cool Flea Market booth. So many good ones The dark knight Jokers are so cool. Also love the Amy from Big Bang Theory. I think we ay try to get some of those soon. It is really weird how some of these replacements are even available, like the 100 pcs hopper. I think my main complaint would be lazy Soda chases. Too many sodas where I would rather have the common or the chase is so lazy that I am fine with buying one and getting what we get because the chase just isn't desirable. I would think investing a little more money in the chases would make more people buy more of that one soda to chase the chase. Awesome video!

A lot of awesome pops, I personally love the MOTU and horror pops. I would love those og MOTU characters or the scareglow and ram man.
One thing that I’m displeased with Funko about is they don’t listen to their core audience and tend to neglect them in hopes of drawing in someone or something bigger. They should have sent pop yourself packages to some of the bigger RUclipsrs that promote them almost daily for free. Sure they support Tristan some what but I don’t see them collaborating with much anyone else. I think they need to incorporate the Funko RUclipsrs and Instagram pages, big or small, more on their social media.

My biggest thing with Funko is that they just release too much all the time. There doesn’t have to be 10 pops for every movie that comes out and there doesn’t have to be 20 pops of the same character for every show. I love the old Funko pop lines that just have a few figures in the line and it is very fun to collect the set but when you’re trying to collect the new lines that have 10+ figures, it gets to be too much. I think they need to reevaluate what they put out and need to start considering quality over quantity.
It can get overwhelming very quickly for sure. Sometimes, less is more. And I think they would make the same, if not more money, if they produced fewer highly quality pops, as opposed to more lazy pops.
(Sdcc obviously) BUT The overproduction of absolutely everything. Get back to limited pops that make you feel the adrenaline of getting that limited pop you want. (Funko will never care to stop bots clearly though).
I agree! We definitely need some more non-Freddy and non-NFT limited pieces drops. It seems like their site has gotten better with the bots, but it’s no where near where it should be.

My thing with Funko and why I stopped collecting is they remake the same character with a slightly different mold because that’s what only a select group of people want. There are so many other great characters that deserve a figure, and not just Star Wars but any franchise. Even if they just make that character a Con exclusive. Funko should take a poll of what collectors really want, what they should continue to make and what should either be stopped or vaulted.
There really are so many characters they haven’t made yet, and that’s why all of these custom concept pages on insta have so many followers. They need to make something unique and special that collectors have to have. Otherwise collectors will flock to other hobbies.
I really wish they would not have the no piece count sodas. I get want to sell a lot of stuff so they arent wasting molds but that piece count is part of soda identity. Even if they had to do high piece counts it would be better than not having one.
I agree 100% Melissa! That limited edition factor is a huge deal with sodas, and they must being seeing an impact with their sales for sure. Hopefully they’ll stop making those ones soon.

My biggest complaint with Funko which I think is a root of a lot of their issues is their social media presence. I think they don’t communicate with their fans and I don’t think they listen to what their customers want. When the community is upset, Funko typically stays quiet and I feel like that just makes things worse. We also get announcements really bad. Take into consideration the sdcc announcements this year. They were so sloppy and drawn out. I think Funko really needs to fix this. They need a stronger presence on social media and need a true social media team. I think if Funko really payed attention to social media and what all us fans are saying it could resolve a lot of issues Funko has as a company.
I agree, the lack of a social media presence is a huge problem. Communication goes a long way, even baby messages. We get that they’re a huge company now, but they used to be so in touch with the fanbase and they’re losing that grip unfortunately. However, they could get it back very easily.

My biggest issue is the NFTs not being different enough😢 they need glow and metallic versions or special paint jobs, the first NFTs had that unique factor. But now you can get better commons than NFTs sadly. And they need to give us the option to ship them in protectors.

I am one who likes things to be fair and i am very disappointed in how Freddy Funko replacement was handled. It's not fair to those who paid for the trip and the event. I think Freddy’s should become more rare like they were back in the day. Make collecting Freddy’s be like the holy grails like before.
It’s definitely not fair for sure. Freddy is Funko’s mascot and they do need to make him more of a bigger deal like he used to be. Make better molds for his pops and don’t mess up his piece counts. Thank you for the comment Chris 🥳
I agree with you about the replacements for the 250 piece SDCC pops. I think Funko should send something limited to these people, but also let them keep the 250 piece too. Also find it strange that they would have more of the limited pops/sodas like the Darth Vader soda. With that being just a 1000 piece soda, wouldn’t you think they were all gone….🤔 Anyway, thanks for bringing us along to the flea market and my favorite at the market was Grand Admiral Thrawn. 🤩

You know what really grinds my gears about Funko. They have treated freddy as just a regular pop now and making him something that isn't valued as much anymore. I haven't been collecting that long but from what I've seen from our friendly neighborhood, Slapshotpops aka Joana and john, Freddys used to be everything and a must have due to the limited number it was. That made any pop hunt exciting due to knowing how limited something else. Some of these Freddys are just that anymore. And whether it is taking a break for the next year of making them, or limiting them to certain events, something needs to be done. This is the Mascot of Funko, and I just started collecting them and its all Johns fault (haha) but they are an amazing pop and I'd hate it not to mean anything anymore. Like my friend will say and I'll say this to funko "Don't Stop Shooting Until You Score". #LetsGoFunko!

I wasn't surprised with the mistake funko did. I was already wondering about piece count from last year. When they bought out the Britney 5,000 piece and biggie 5,000 piece. Then find out biggie was released here with 5,000 piece sticker and britney with the special edition sticker. I know that it gives international collectors a chance to get them including me but it's not 5,000 piece then. There also could be issues with freddy funko as green ranger with some of the glow ones either not glowing at all or some of the parts on him only glowing. There is also issue with the non glow verison of that as well with some of him glowing like the pants or the sword but it's the non glow version but it glows
That is an issue for sure, and one that shouldn’t be a problem. Make something limited and stick to it, otherwise don’t bother putting a piece count on a sticker. Bummer to hear about Green Rangers especially.
@@Slapshotpops Yep that's it if they have a piece count then that's how many should be out there. Not 5,000 in US and then how ever many international. My one the pants don't glow. I don't know if it's cause of my blacklight told it could be that. Got it awhlie ago off ebay for $10. Not sure though cause you know how you can feel the glow. I felt the pants and it's not on there. Don't wanna buy an expensive uv light and still not have it work.
I always had a sneaking suspicion they kept a # of the really hot items for their own profit to sell in eBay or wherever for high prices. Employees in Stores do it. Why wouldn't funko employees. We don't know all 250 or whatever the count is gets sold to regular consumers.

Simple enough, can Funko please add some sort of adequate protection to their pops? I’m tired of getting and tired of seeing damaged boxes coming in the mail. If they simply used sorters like they used to, and stopped bubble wrapping the pops with no sorter, the issue would be fixed.

My concern is not only not doing the right things for those who received the low piece count but also sending the pops without good packing. Seeing those pops in boxes that were ripped and bend broke my heart. Hoping they will do what is right for us collectors!!

So many great pops, but for me that She-Ra is one that I will probably never own. Personally for me Funko’s shipping/customer service are the biggest issues🤷♂️
I’ve been very disappointed with the state of their shipping items. Too many things have been coming in damaged to the point where I now second-guess every purchase that I consider through their online store. Not a great look when buying direct.
I can understand why.. I hope they improve their shipping.
My gripe with funko is using redoing nfts with commons like the power rangers and the house of dragon i was so happy to get that version of king viserys it was unique and awesome looking and now it will be a common and chase in the future it was really upsetting. Then to see it done again with the ranger slayer. It truly makes me not want to jump in the nft game. But other than that funko is still fun for me.

I would say I'm upset at the replacement boxes. I didn't go to fundays but the idea of sending back a super limited pop to get a soda? Um no. I think Funko really needs to just get a handle on their quality control, maybe hire actual collectors who know us
Having an employee or group of employees to understand us and what we want would be pretty cool, hopefully this doesn't turn into something like EA.
I'm thinking they have extra Fundays Pops because I'm sure not everyone could make it. Just a theory. Don't beat me up. 😂🤣 The thing that makes me mad about Funko is their complete ignorance of their items being collectibles. They don't take blame for poor packaging by saying that the box isn't guaranteed to show up mint. Even though they know the majority of people collect them.

I am upset that Funko continues to not listen to their collectors and consumer base for really anything. My correction for them is to create a branch within the company "Funko Fan Affairs / Funko Fan Relations" or something and have higher content creators and a vetted group of collectors that can be used to run ideas from funko and from the group to funko to help them make / create some amazing things, get them back on track to success, and restore faith with their fans and consumers.

I would not have sent my pops in for a refund pop Funko already screwed up why give them another chance? Some times it's better to take your loses and move on?
Sometimes that's the case, depends really.
I am upset with the Funko piece counts and mass production. To remedy this and get back on track, reduce piece counts as well as offer more store exclusives. Eliminating the hunt is killing their brand.

Most of us don't know what it takes to run a MULTI-Million dollar corporation. As customers, we always think we know what's best for the company when we really know NOTHING. It's easy for us to sit in front of a camera and vent about our specific issue without thinking about what's going on behind the scenes. Just remember that if a small company becomes a BIG company, it's because they did something/s right along the way. Trust in the company or stop buying their products! It's that simple!
Back to original question: The only issue I have with Funko is the "Final Sale" designation on some of their products. ALL products on a website need to have some sort of guarantee that the products they order will arrive undamaged and timely. "Final Sale" is just another way for a company to say "Don't care how it arrives, No Refunds!"
I agree with you in that most of us do not know how to run a multi-million dollar company. However, the old phrase “the customer is always right” has some merit, when customers are the ones paying the companies bills and keeping the lights on. So we deserve to have a voice. Funko got huge because they did a lot of things right, however they are straying away from their roots and that’s why I said what I did. Plus, companies are always looking for feedback and as someone who loves Funko, I want to Funko continue to succeed in the future. However, there are undeniable issues right now. Although I also agree with the “Final Sale” issue. I’m fine with that as long as they provide replacements and good customer service…but right now that isn’t the case.
Bring back the collectibility of Funko. Stop re releasing the same pops that have already been made. I understand making a new mold when a new show comes out or something like that but bringing back the exact same pops that is many years old leaves such a bad taste to collectors because there’s not telling what they are gonna be re releasing again. Whether you are “in it” for the money or not it’s just a bad thing for the collecting aspect of the company.

Stop over making the same character. Now we all know I love Ahsoka, and I buy every one that comes out but we're up to what over 12 of her now? Give us the characters we've not yet seen. There are so many in so many lines fans would go nuts for yet they remain unmade. Even some new lines would be great *cough* Kim Possible *cough*!
