A lot of people have been pointing out I should have put a barrier between the two nations and, yes, I really should have (will do that next time for sure). To be fair though, I didn’t think the idiots would immediately go straight for the geniuses land lol
First, you should put a barrier between to make it more balanced. To make it that the poor can progress you can give them much less resources, also you could make the time limit smaller so the original disadvantage has more effect. Second, make sure there isn't angry villagers. Makes it incredibly hard for people to capture towns.
I think the biggest issue the geniuses had was the angry villagers. They couldn't take and hold towns so when they went in they just killed everybody instead of capturing the town itself.
This sounds like a start of an anime "Reincarnated in another world but i have to defend myself from 100 cavemen, but i have all the things i need with the blessing gods knowledge"
Unrealistic sure, but you should make it so the idiots cant expand into the good land, it makes it horribly unbalanced Use mountains or lava, any barrier
Should've make it difficult to get over the biomes like adding a river for example so the first one to advance with their technology will have a advantage so
To keep the Rich vs Poor variable controlled you should have put mountains between the biomes. This was a failed experiment because these variables were not controlled.
Ah yes, scientific method Independent variable: knowledge and money Dependent variable: the winning team Control: strength of each character. Land amount of each character
In that case you would also need to change the victory conditions, because the victory conditions intrinsically require the control and variable group to interact with each other. A better experiment would be to set test and control against a adversary and separate both ecosystems so that there are no interactions between them. But there is less entertainment value in that.
@@kometheusshorts the genius trait is good, But doesn’t pass down to offspring making them lose a good trait over generations. The idiot trait is bad, and goes away over a few generations which isn’t very fair. Melon reapplies traits frequently in some other videos and geniuses won then too
I'd say the best way to do this kind of test is probably to put a wall between them for a set number of ingame years. That way both can progress with what they have instead of one group jumping the border to the other group's turf.
“The geniuses put up a good fight, there just ended up being way too many idiots…” Ah yes. A testament to our civilization of whom we base ourselves. Built of the eternal struggle of ignorance and enlightenment presented throughout.
I think you should've used that super smart trait that you used in your last video along with the genius trait. I think you should've given the geniuses the attractive trait and the idiots the ugly trait to balance out the population.
This takes strength in numbers to a whole new level... I guess the man with poor intelligence will always be rich, by taking it from the man with rich intelligence.
Idiots really went "ape together strong" on this one, but in defense of the genius camp, that one person at the beginning had to figure out mitosis before everything
Hey Mellon if you need a Worldbox video idea, I have one. Which one of these 4 ant species would win in a fight. Asian Marauder Ants, Fire Ants, Black Crazy Ants or Trap Jaw Ants. Each get their own traits. Traits: Asian Maurader Ants: Giant, Titan and Tough Fire Ants: Fire proof, Fire Blood and Venomous Black Crazy Ants: Shadow Summoner, Fast and Sonic Speed Trap Jaw Ants: Blood Lust, Strong and Genius Note: I couldn’t find a third trait that suits Trap Jaw ants so I pick my favourite vanilla trait Genius.
I have a suggestion. Let civilization expand, then turn all the land to corrupted/cursed land. Maybe have all nations peaceful after the corruption. As they die, ghosts and skeletons will spawn, causing a ripple effect, like a more lethal zombie apocalypse.
So the stupid trait only gives a negative diplomacy. I feel like it's a bit misleading to call them idiots in this arena setting as the trait doesn't really affect their performance.
Pretty crazy that the idiots made a smarter move than the super geniuses in the prior video, almost immediately hitting the border to farm the trees and other resources within the other nations zone.
Lmao I think you should take this to it's most logical extreme, do one guy with all the resources, and all the good traits, vs 1000 people with none of the resources and all the bad traits Obviously not immediately, but towards the end of your series of videos on all resources vs no resources lol

The conclusion to draw from these experiments is, of course, not to underestimate the cruelty and brutality of an army of idiots, even if all they have are sticks.
I think one important thing to point out is the map is different on the barren area. I think the previous video’s map might have allowed for other structures to be built which dictated how fast the barren side expanded.
Idiots capturing Genius colony in the right was a key factor because they also got genius trait from there. Also Idiots expanded quicker than Geniuses also helped them win. Maybe it’s because they had more population.
What would also work as a to keep the nations more on their side would be to create an impassable wall and only accessible from the sides but a better way would be a big river that would delay them
A lot of people have been pointing out I should have put a barrier between the two nations and, yes, I really should have (will do that next time for sure). To be fair though, I didn’t think the idiots would immediately go straight for the geniuses land lol
