Hey mate, really enjoyed your Serbia trip. Also Belgrade is a very nice city and it's the first time seeing it on video, never look into it.
Look forward to the next trip.

Those 3 openings in the wall at 3:41 are actually probations by archeologists that revealed Roman walls within later built medieval walls. Belgrade fortress is basically layers and layers of different ages built by different nations, since it was destroyed or damages many times in over 150 recorded battles that took place there. Actual fortress back in the days was spread all the way to where Republic square is now, one of the main gates was at position of that square, but in 19th century outer walls and fortifications was demolished so modern Belgrade can be built and urbanized.
You are right about bad care of fortress, although last few years they finally invested some money in renovation works a lot more need to be done.
Usually there is a big crowd at those walls at 16:52 for sunset right in that position where camera is pointing. And if you look some medieval paintings of fortress, it was filled with towers ans buildings inside where park area is now.

I read a lot of the data there and it's had an amazing history and just such a massive complex. I like to try picture what it was like back then within the walls...in such a great strategic position too. Glad to hear some work has been done on its upkeep...stay safe.

What kind of camera do you use? Gopro or something else? Enjoy Serbia!

Hi my friend ty for comment and yes Serbia was great and excellent people for sure. I use a GoPro Hero 8, perfect for what I need, great stabilisation and inbuilt mic is more than fine without a mic kit. Just use an extendable pole or smaller tripod pole with it. The Hero9 was not that different so I didn't upgrade and it had some issues with firmware. Maybe I get a DSLR soon as I miss a proper zoom function, that's the one thing GoPro has not got right yet. Don't shoot much in 4K as processing time is huge, but might start doing a bit more. Stay safe mate.

@@BitsofEurope Thanks for quick reply. I want to buy GoPro 8 Hero Black also but I am worried about freezing issue which leads to losing footage, so I also consider DJI Osmo Action. What's your experience regarding that? Hope you had good time and tried our dishes like Cevapi, Pljeskavica and many others, we have good food. Also I can agree there could be some improvements on Kalemegdan, but if you consider the amount of people going through there every day it looks fairly clean and good.

@@EdoBudim No problems at all. Firstly the fortress for the most part was great as I said and well maintained. I was in two minds to show that or not and its not meant to detract from the visit at all, given its stunning. I just think if 95% of it can be well kept and there are no issues elsewhere, why that one area has been neglected? Would take a couple of guys a couple of hours to clean it up, trim the weeds and the maybe instead of that part being open 24 hours, put a gate there. So just an attempt to spur someone into action and as you see and hear by my comments, I loved the place and will be back to see it in full and the museum, when I get more time. I've had zero issues with my Hero8 freezing. Only on a couple of occasions it will shut down with a warning it its too hot and that has to be really hot, like being left in direct sunlight with the lens pointing at the sun. I've used the DJI Osmo Pocket but not the Action. I think very similar now and DJI obviously makes great gear. Most reviews still say the Hero8 and 9 still edge it out for clarity, stabilisation etc but just. It does have two screens if you are into that so you can frame yourself doing talk to camera. I tend to only switch any product if a better one comes along or the one I have is lacking something I need, so for me no issues with the GoPro8 and haven't lost any footage. I use a 128gb Sandisk Extreme Pro SD card and gives me nearly 5 hours of recording in 1080p. Hope that answers you lol..just watched Switzerland beat France!

@@EdoBudim Yep :)) ..I notice a couple of Thailand videos in your channel. Nice place, most of South East Asia and the Pacific is great. If you ever want a trip to open your eyes, visit Papua New Guinea, especially up in the Highlands, beautiful, unspoilt and like a place time forgot. Also great unspoilt diving on the islands...stay safe!
