    There’s a few other cryptids that you didn’t mention that supposedly live in California, there’s the Lake Elsinore Monster, Lake Hodges Monster, and the giant salamanders of mount Shasta. There used to also be reports of a certain sea serpent in Monterey bay called “The Old Man” which was basically a really old looking sea serpent that apparently died. There’s also quite a few sea serpent sightings in the San Francisco Bay Area

Great episode Ben, thanks for the mention as well, always brightens my mood. I'm glad your doing a cryptid spotlight on the Fresno nightwalkers, I'm hyped. The first story is awesome. I live in Santa Paula, the city which Billiwhack ranch resides.. Ventura county...I'm a ranch baby and the Limoneria Ranch surrounds the whole area...4th generation starting in 1880, let me tell you we call him the Chivoman ( Chivo is Spanish for Goat)...I have and many of us who grew up in the orchards know that there is a very scary presence there...the stories of underground labs and Mr Billiwhack are so true...but you must come to Wheeler Canyon where he has been seen the most. I was throwing newspaper for the Ventura County Star...I hated having to get off to place the paper in the newspaper boxes because we were not allowed to drive all the way up the road do the numerous attacks. I swear one early morning in December I saw horns, red eyes and breath coming from something that was at least 7 feet tall..even tho it was for only a second it felt like forever...once we were hunting up past WC road in the late 80s my friends and I were chased back all the way down from the dairy building...we lost 2 dogs and they were mutilated but save our asses..man I miss those days but I still get the heebie jebbies when I think about it..All Ventura and Santa Paula residents who grew up in the Rancho know not to F w/the Chivoman...Ben thx for the memories man..and the nightmares lol great channel

    I lived in the southern California area your 1st story came from and I actually drove the roads the being your talking about appeared on.. a number of times ..just looking for the creature. What you are talking about was always referred to as the "Goatman" and had a number of origin stories... never heard the one you alluded to as the stories I heard of the creatures existence dated back to early native american lore. And no I never saw it... damn.. but I did have friends tell me they did!!!!! Also the road associated with this being is a road that runs from Carpenteria Ca to Ojhi Ca... a very used route.... in the daytime...

    Ben, another well presented show.
    The Rebobs, I believe, also have an anchor in the 1960's / 70's conspiracy theory of the Chimmanzee, stories of the CIA and KGB trying to create chimpanzee/ human hybrids as super soldiers. If you haven't hear of that one, that is a fun topic to research.
    Don't forget, the native Americans in the Redding area have more chilling tale of Bigfoot clans they called "Forest Cannibals" (also lore in many Northwest tribes), clans of Bigfoot that were said to snatch women and children for the tribes and eat them.
    Dogmen are also spotted in California.
    Another good topic for a future show, if not done already, would be the Shasta / Lassen mountain areas. They are well known by locals to be thought of as UFO bases guarded by many spirit / crypid creatures.
    Also, speaking of Dogmen, sometime I would like to get together with you on this subject. In the past, you've tried to give the subject a fair shake. I haven't been real happy with all the "factual" and cryptid channels that seem to present more creepypasta tales. I've been into this subject since the 1980's, when it was better known by tribal lore people as "The Wolf Nations". These cryptids, as well as Bigfooot go back as far as the earliest recorded creation "myths" (Thousands of years earlier than American). I worked with the late Brad Steiger on this and other topics...during the 2000's, I was one of his main 3 book illustrators and contributors (I am the cover artist for "Real Monsters...") I have had much more varied story collections, and my own main 4 categories and several benevolent tales as opposed to all malevolent).

    Thankyou for the well wishes you have sent my fellow Australians. I am lucky enough to live in a section rarely troubled by fire but many in my country are not so lucky. Currently everything on Kangaroo Island has taken a pounding. Thousands of animals killed and many being Koalas. Many of them already threatened creatures. For those viewing this and you are thinking of taking a holiday. A lot of places like this will be looking to recover and one of those ways is through tourism. Please consider some of these places for a holiday once things have settled. The people living there will be more then overjoyed to have a reason to return.

    I've never been to California but it seems to me some sort of Cryptid that walks on hooves or with bent legs, covered in fur with horns seems to be common in several States as well. The Native Americans referred to them as Skin Walkers. I've never seen a Cryptid or Alien but I've spoken to different people here in Georgia that have had personal encounters with these horned beings that I personally know. Each one had a different experience at a different location during a different time of day. No matter how many times I have heard them tell what happened nothing changes especially the confusion of trying to explain what they saw and their mind trying to make sense of it. Just like the Panthers here in GA. I've never seen them but I've heard them. Other family members have seen them and were told they would be prosecuted if they shot one. Maybe one day someone can answer the question of what these beings are.

    • @jackalope2302
      @jackalope2302 5 лет назад

      Horned humanoids reported include the Maryland Goatman, Pope Lick Monster, the Sheepsquatch in West Virginia, and the Ozark Howler (although howlers are more often reported to be a horned panther or bear).
      I only call beings reported to shapeshift in front of witnesses as Skinwalkers. In Navajo legend, those creatures are evil human "witches" that can change into animal form. None of the horned humanoids I've heard about are reported to shapeshift so calling them Skinwalkers seems a bit reductionist to me.
