The problem for the Rockets is very simple: You cannot expect to win playoff series' when you're expecting guys like Ariza, Beverley, Brewer etc. to score 15-20 a game. They're simply not good enough shooters, and can barely create their own shots. All these players, and you can add Josh Smith, Terrence Jones, Motiejunas and a couple of others to the list, are just streaky players who can get hot every so often but cannot be depended on for consistent performances. This is the biggest flaw in the team and its what makes Golden State so special. They're second unit has specific roles and almost every night you can depend on them as a unit to perform. Houston's biggest need is a secondary premier scorer (Carmelo Anthony would be perfect) to take the pressure off Harden and then the supporting cast would get less shots but much higher percentage shots as opposition D's would have to focus on two quality scorers. This would also make Dwight Howard far more effective offensively. With a Carmelo Anthony, the Rockets would be a legitimate top 3 team in the West and on equal footing with the Spurs as Golden State's biggest threat. Right now though, the Rockets are just an also-ran.

He doesn't lead by example and if anything the way he plays likely alienates teammates. The dude is a fake superstar and will never win a ring. He's the new Carmelo. Dwight is a mental midget and also a huge baby. The rest of the players are a bunch of low BBIQ dummies like Smith and Beasley.

They also just need more shooters. Houston shoots a lot of threes (which is great), but can't knock them down at an efficient rate (not so great).
