Not to make you mad but the this T-Bolt is still active because my friend who lives in Warren County went here 9 months ago or something and he heard it so It was reconnected :)
The echoes are just amazing! This siren is reverse-wired hence why its so high pitch. And this one is actually a jailbar seen in other videos. This system used to be so damn creepy back in the day!
@@kelleyoneill7963 The replacement is located elsewhere. It’s an E-Class located on a parking garage nearby. I’ve taken pics of it, it’s the siren in my channel banner
Something tells me that if by some miracle someone was able to reverse the blower leads, that thing would really pack one heck of a wallop in the downtown area by itself. Alas, it has always sounded like this (with the blower "sucking" instead of blowing) since I first heard it, and who knows how many years it's been this way. Great video though! I've always really loved the downtown ambiance even if there aren't but these two 'bolts left screaming now.
Gary Hisgun Not that I'm aware of, as the type of Roots blowers that Federal used for the Thunderbolt series throughout its lifetime were always twin lobe bi-directional blowers. The only harm that one running in "reverse" can cause, besides a pretty drastic decrease in sound output, is that if there is no bird screen on the horn they will literally suck a bird or any debris into the chopper and cause it to lock up (which will burn out the chopper motor). I saw the result of one that literally had that happen to it, and it wasn't pretty!
Yes, it is disconnected. From what I heard, the siren radio stopped working. Since they were all being replaced, it didn't get fixed. Now it just sits up there. It was one of the first thunderbolts installed in Cincinnati around 1954.
There is still a thunderbolt that goes off on top of Anderson Township fire station #6. The siren has gone off with a t-128 for two years now, so I am wondering if they will leave that one up.
thefandude21 Thought I heard it this past test, although it is facing the same way as the last test. All I know is that it is close to the road, so you might get background noise from that. the siren by the way is a 1000AT. It really is a shame that Hamilton had to replace the sirens, but, they did get a good replacement.

Yea that thing seems kind of quiet... The 1000T sounds awesome but you shouldn't be hearing a 1000T that loud over a 1000. Pointed at the camera it kind of overpowers the 1000T but you would have a had time hearing the 1000T with the 1000 pointed away. Either way though the 1000T sounds beautiful and the 1000 can at least still be heard... Just not top volume...
+AirplaneDude Oh yes. These sirens... Especially the single tone ones... Do that... But no doubt in this video the blower is sucking air and not blowing it. If it were blowing it you wouldn't hear that 1000T very well... Now they may have since reversed the leads but I know for a fact that thing should sound a lot louder in this video...

Is this hard on the blower and motor when it constantly runs this way it certainly does not have that much effectiveness when it runs like this
