Absolutely dead on with the playing to feel the song, and Dave Gilmore is famous for it too so it's awesome to see the delicacy with which Empu handles his work. Absolutely love it :)
Yeah i can remember there's an interview with Tuomas before EFMB where he was asked if there were a lot of operatic vocals on the album, and he said he doesn't believe in doing something "just because you can" and that everything has to serve the song and belong in the music and the message or else it just sounds forced and less genuine from a writers perspective.

For some reason, both long time fan of Pink Floyd and Nightwish I haven´t watched this video before. What an experience! And thank you for pointing out Emppu. Humble, soulful (and very funny & likable) person, who really can make his guitar sing with the feeling. And it´s never about his persona & talents, it´s always the complete experience with the band. Thank you for excellent reaction!
Oh yes, While Your Lips Are Still Red is definitely on the must-react list (especially since Chase promised to do it after it came up in a poll and never got around to it, lol)!
He should definitely do some of Marko´s solo stuff. Death March for Freedom and Star, Sand and Shadow are probably my favourite on his album (Pyre of the Black Heart).
It's just amazing to know that Jukka played a lot of shows without resting/sleeping and having painful headaches yet giving the best fuckin' performances out there until the end... kudos, cheers, love and eternal respect to this outstanding drummer!
Most great bands have 1 or 2 members that stand out. I have never known a band with all 6 members being equally amazing. Greatest band of all time in my opinion. Hope someday they will be recognized worldwide.
All the musicians are fabulous, but I want to give a shout out to the production crew that made this incredible recording of this perfect moment in time.
I agree completely. It's incredible that (to my ears at least) this is the Nightwish album with the best sound mix and production. Insane, considering it's live.
"This band is great" Best Tank fact ever! Short-'n-sweet... Great reaction to a fantastic song. I'll leave the more in-depth commenting to the NW army, as I'm down this rabbit hole pretty much with you.
I am in the same boat as you Tank. I never thought that I would love a cover more than the Pink Floyd original, but this version has more angst and is darker, which fits my taste better, while the original is more melancholic. I still love the original, but I now prefer Nightwish's version.
I think the only thing I can't live without from the original is David's ending solo. I love Jukka's solo, wouldn't change a thing about it, but you just can't beat David Gilmour digging in on a lap-steel.
It's kinda like the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence, which Paul Simon himself complimented as the version he would've loved to sing. Some songs are just so good that they are great for the style of their time, but also even more perfect for another.
It also depends upon the song; the two you mentioned were both essentially bare-bones, minimalist songs (studio versions, at least - this one has had more added in Pink Floyd concerts), so it's at least somewhat easier for a great band to add depth and flesh the song out without negatively altering any part of the original. Of course, great bands will always find ways to present a cover (or tribute😉) of a song and make it at least a fraction better than the original.
I just can`t get enough of Marco`s voice. It doesn`t matter what he´s singing, heavy versions of Christmas carrols, solo stuff, Nightwish songs, coversongs or Tarot, his voice is pure gold live and on recordings. It just hits to your heart hard when he gets to those high notes :D
I got up at 6am today and pretty much binge watched most of your videos while enjoying my morning coffee (got a day off work, whee), love your genuine reactions and your "Tank Facts"! Ahhh it's so freaking satisfying to see new people fall in love with Marko Hietala. I have been a fangirl since 1997 and I'm so glad to see he's finally getting the recognition and respect he deserves. Love from Tampere, Finland
I believe Tuomas once said in an interview that Nightwish Is about the music. I think that’s why he always looks like he’s so into what he’s playing. They all so love what they do & it shows when they play. They love each other, they love their fans & that shows onstage & the fans can see & feel this & I believe that’s why Nightwish has lasted all these years. I’ve only known of them for a little over a year now & I think with all of the reaction channels out there right now, the Nightwish army is growing by leaps & bounds because of all the requests to play their music! That is so awesome! Everyone needs to hear this amazing band! Thanks for your reaction Tank!
I am an Pink Floyd fan since 1975 but I never heard before the song High Hopes from a other band. This version from Nightwish is absolutely amazing fantastic overwhelming 🤘🤘🤘🤘thank you for your reaction I like it
I've always thought that Emmpu and Gilmore actually have a lot in common. It's about the perfect note at the perfect time, not who can get there the fastest. This bands catalogue is astounding when it comes to quality performance after quality performance. The last of the great rock bands.
I've said the same thing about so many Nightwish songs, but this one is one of my biggest favorites, even if it's a cover. The eerie atmosphere Tuomas creates, Emppu's guitar solos, Jukka on drums, and of course Marko! Nightwish can be fantastic without a female vocalist. At least for a song or two or three.
One of the things that brought me to and has kept me with Nightwish is the fact that they are ALL absolutely masters of their individual crafts. You really don't find that in a lot of groups anymore. They are a real throwback to the "good old days".
Some have said that this performance is on another level because the band members (excluding Tarja) knew what was going to happen after this show (The Open Letter to Tarja and her dismissal). They had all kinds of emotions going on and put them into their instruments. I have to agree. This is one of the best performances I have ever seen
With every Nightwish reaction you make, I am further enriched by your obvious joy with their music and the emotional/fact-based comments you make which add to my enjoyment of the greatest performing band in the world today.
Your reactions are so f’’ing good, and that’s why your subs went up 5 k under a week. There is a buzz about you and your channel so you are doing something right. Stay safe n well bro🇸🇪👍
Love this reaction video! What an amazing tribute! I’m seeing Nightwish in November at Birmingham NEC (England) gutted that Marco has left the band, but I’m absolutely sh*ting my pants at the thought of seeing this awesome band live!!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Love seeing you enjoy Nightwish, keep it going! I myself re-discovered them last year during a long period of being in hospital, surgery and recovery.......After facing death two times in five months I realized we are so scared of dying that we forget to live. To me "The Greatest Show On Earth" is the embodiment of this realization. For you as fan of pyrotechnics and stuff you must do the live@Tampere version of this song. You won't be disappointed!
Great reaction to a great tribute song, Tank. I'm reminded that Tarja was let go from the group right after the show and maybe the emotion of the moment carried into their performance. Tarja was in the midst of a wardrobe change during High Hopes so the rest of the guys were playing without her and I can't help but think they had that absence in mind. Marko slays it every time and he put his brand on this version without a doubt.
@@TheNightOwl11683 I'll have to listen to Imagine (doing so right now... definitely on the same level as Sweet Dreams, at the very least). As for Sweet Dreams... maybe, not sure I'd pick it over the original, but possibly. Depends on my mood.
@@StergiosMekras I say that because how you can take a song like that & take it a whole other direction and give it a much different feel. A Perfect Circle does the same with Imagine.
APC's version of Imagine is so much more poignant than the Lennon version, in my opinion, because it makes you wonder about the fulfillment of wishes, and whether you actually want what you thought you were asking for. Lennon was a masterful songwriter, no doubt, but as the world has changed, so has perspective. I think Maynard really took the different perspective to heart and created something both dark and beautiful from that.
I always enjoy and learn from your reactions. I never paid much attention to Pink Floyd after "The Wall," and music was just white noise in my life for decades while I put my right brain in exile and tended to practical matters. Making time for it now, listening, understanding, learning to play a bit myself. You and a few other reactors really help me do that with your different perspectives, and Nightwish has a mix of talent, skill, technicality, style and pure genius that motivates me at a point in my life when almost nothing else does. Thanks for what you do.
I saw them for the first time in 2005 at Hell. It's a place north from Trondheim, Norway. That was the first time I heard Marko sing that song and last. I just love his voice. And what a powerfull voice he have. I've seen them 2 times after Hell, i just love that band. 🤘
One of the reasons why I think Nightwish works so well is because there are no egos in the band. They're all there to do their job and have no need to showcase how awesome they are. They know they're good, and they all have their moments throughout the albums and live performances. Emppu especially is a person who is there to do his job and take care of the others. You may have seen it in some of the videos already, but for example in Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 you see brief glimpses of him walking around the stage and checking up on everyone, placing his hands on their shoulder and saying something. He does that at least on some Wembley songs as well, can't remember which ones though. EDIT: Oh and I agree about Marco being the best singer :D When Tarja was forced to leave, I was actually hoping they wouldn't replace her and would just let Marco sing. He's a Finnish heavy metal icon, one of the people who essentially started metal in Finland back in the days. Check out his band Tarot at some point. He started it with his brother Sakari in -82 and the band is still officially active although the current status is sketchy at best due to them losing their drummer in 2016.
It seems to me that every person in this band has pretty much set the benchmark for perfection in that role. This is literally the supergroup of all supergroups....and there’s still people out there who don’t know them yet.
The best cover I've ever heard. Better than original 💪 There are really not any words to discribe their talent. No wonder this band has a huge fanbase in every corner of the world. Thank you so much reacting this epic song 🙏
just went and grabbed my new Nightwish tee shirt so I could come in and watch Nightwish reaction videos. Lo and behold there is a reaction video to High Hopes, one of my all time favorite Nightwish songs (along with about 20 others). I think Emppus guitar playing is also spectacular without being flashy, however my reaction to his solo in this song was about the same as yours. While the solo is not originally his the way he played it made it my favorite guitar solo of all time. you are right they are all so good. I believe they may be the best band of all time bar none and i mean none. I understand why the fans are so rabid because I have become one. My bucket list item is to see them live in concert. I sure hope that soon because I am older and I don't have all that many years left. Please come to the US and have an outdoor concert where they can work their magic so all of us fans can go. I said this for everybody's sake.
Seven Days to the wolves is underrated! Also, there haven't been many react channels that watched it. The stage presence is unreal during that performance.
Tank, thanks. This song is one I have to admit that I was not familiar with or had forgotten it. I agree Nightwish does a wonderful job of building up the tension in the song. Thanks again
you said you are marco fan boy so the heaviest song from nightwish is...master passion greed...marco sings ...this song is thrash metal...its said that the lyrics are message to tarjas husband and how he was only looking for money...as someone said tuomas was mad as hell...he was so mad he made thrash metal...if decide to react to this song see the official lyric vid there no live version
Emppu I think is happier entertaining the crowd with mischievous facial expressions than with his guitar, but you can hear especially in their earlier material, he is capable when he wants to. It must take a great deal of willpower to hold off on listening to new Nigthwish more than one song per week. Once I discovered them, I had all their music on CD within a month, including all rare and bonus tracks, lol.
Okay - I was "familiar" with Nightwish, and I knew that the band was filled with incredibly tallented musos, but I never really let myself be consumed by their music. This changed today, Tank, I want to thank you for creating the playlist. I just watched all of the Nighwish reactions in one go. This band is great! I will only listen to this version of the song from now on also!
For more Marko maybe try something from his solocareer. The latest being the album " Isäni ääni " which has also been made in english as " the Voice Of My Father"... and of that album " Stones" is also great etc. etc 😁🤘Thanks again for this reaction.
@@miias.7334 Some people like it heavy (like Tank), better start with what you like then move forwards from there. I like soft too, at times, but if I didn't know Marco and listened Isani aani first, I would probably pass on him.
have to add another comment to this, NO ONE in Nightwish is there to show off. They are A band and never steals the thunder from the rest. Thats one reason why they are so good!
There is no better tribute to this song. I could see you felt this. Great reaction. Your "holy s**t" at the start of the last chorus sums it up.... epic! I just pray that Marko returns one day, because his absence is felt. The guy is a monster
Saw this when it came out, but just came back to say... It occurs to me that a few hours after this show, Tarja was handed The Letter. I think it shows in the band's faces in this song, especially Tuomas. And the song, as written by Gilmour, was about happier days with Syd Barrett, so I do wonder how deliberate the choice was. Food for thought.
I love love LOOOOOVE this version and performance. The band is great and I liked the visuals also. And it was such a nice thing that you said about Emppu - I agree 120% ❤️ Thank you for this reaction. 🙏
I agree this is one of the best tribute/cover songs I've ever heard. This is one of the few positives of 2020 is my further discovery of Nightwish. Thanks for the vids and I enjoy them all.
Your reaction channel is THE BEST on RUclips. It's more detailed than just people who are trying to hard to make reaction videos. You explain much of the behind the scenes setup etc. Very interesting for people who love the theatre and production value. You are an entertainer as well by bringing a depth and expansion to the music being played. Ian Crouse
Nightwish, is really SO good! I often have a feeling that Tuomas has a touch of Midas. All music, both his own and someone else’s, turns gold in his hands!
Regardless of how many times I hear this version of that song Empu's solo almost always brings a tear to my eyes. I suggest you react to "The Siren" or "Planet Hell" from this same concert in your next reaction. Thanks man!
Not sure if I already said this on a previous video or not, but I'll say it again here: I really appreciate the work you put into the facts. This makes your reactions unique and shows your real interest in the bands' history. Kudos to that :)
This seems extra sad for me because it’s like they’re looking back at the high hopes they had in the beginning and knowing they were firing Tarja. Awesome, but awesomely sad. At least they didn’t perform Sorrow instead! As for the singers, they’re all great for their time with the band. Floor is my favorite because I just like her style best. I also love how grounded and down to earth she is 😎 Suggestions for next week: Last Ride of the Day (Waken), Slaying the Dreamer (Buenos Aires), or Sleeping Sun (Tampere with Floor) But you could also do a Marko reaction between now and then! I love the live video for Death March for Freedom, but the official video for Stones is pretty awesome, too 😎 FYI Marko said that he considers the style of the album Pyre of the Black Heart to be “hard prog” and I swear I hear Pink Floyd influences in a bunch of places on it 😉 Have a kick ass day and keep rockin’ 🤘😎
"This seems extra sad for me because it’s like they’re looking back at the high hopes they had in the beginning and knowing they were firing Tarja." That's exactly it, in my opinion. Deliberately so. Artists often put their own lives and feelings into the art they create. In my opinion., the entire setlist for this show was carefully selected by the guys, because they knew they were firing Tarja and it would be the last show they played with her.
Ok, im too far down the Nightwish rabbit hole to even think of turning back. However, I'm nowhere near the bottom either. I did not know Floor has sang Sleeping Sun. I'm going to be checking that out real soon. Does anyone know if Floor has took on The Siren?
Hi Tank, this is my sixth or seventh time I’m watching this video. It makes me feel so good to see a guy who knows what he’s talking about and is a music lover, dare I say music freak, go nuts and appreciate a genius song played by a genius band. This is a live performance worth to be mentioned in the music history books. Tuomas, Jukka, Emppu and Marko are so passionately involved and feel the music. There are no egos, no singled out personalities, they play in function of the music. I always wondered if the upcoming dismissal of Tarja had something to do with the emotions you see and feel in this tribute.
Man ... I love Pink Floyd ,,, seriously... nightwish is the only band able to look you in the eye and not blink ....excellent reaction !!! Kiitos from Colombia Tank !!
The greatest thing about this is that you haven’t even seen their best stuff yet 😎 If you want something completely different, do Sleeping Sun (Tampere). It’s one of their ballads and my personal favourite song of all time.
Great react every time man, another solid one and thanks for doing it While Your Lips Are Still Red and / or Endlessness! Both feature Marco front and center, but Endlessness is off their newest album. Up to you which spot on the timeline you wanna hit, but I'd say one of these two great Marco pieces!
You might have already heard it, but if you enjoy Marco's voice, Check out the band Tarot specifically the song Ashes to the Stars. Its a band Marco and his brother formed in the 80s. Another great reaction Tank.
It's honestly cool to see that so many reactors discover Nightwish and the arguments about Tarja, Anette and Floor only to get completely entranced by Marco's vocals. You look so genuinely pumped about this. As for Nightwish reaction suggestions, if you want to go even OLDER (pre-Marco!!) then I'd suggest the Wishes to Eternity DVD - Elvenpath, She is my Sin, Walking in the Air . And a general music recommendation: 'The Gathering' and 'Control the Storm' by Delain, as they both feature Marco on vocals. Then maybe you'll get into their other stuff as well :)
Sooo, I just saw the 'No admittance' paper on your wall, and I love the LOTR reference, and I would like to encourage you to have a look at the 'Elvenjig and Elvenpath' video from Buenos Aires. For the geekiness and the wonderfull music!
I see you love Marco's vocals as much as I do. Maybe it would make sense to check out Tarot then, too (at least if you'd want to see him outside of Nightwish)? He's doing vocals there, as well :)
Hey Tank, Sound guy here. I'm willing to bet there are little to no backing tracks on this song. Really cool to hear the guys really shine on their own.
You re love for this music makes me soooo happy. I made the exact same journey beginning march this year. I fell in love and actually being obsessed by Nightwish. I m going to join your journey because i cannot stop smiling
OMG, how have I never heard this cover version! That guitar solo in the original is probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard (similar to the ones in Metallica's Orion) and somehow he managed to make it very different but equally stunning. Brought tears to my eyes.
I love this band and i dig seeing you experience their stuff for the first time, especially when its something i havent experienced yet like this song. I am 100% with you about the feel i got from this song, and Marco's vocals omg just when i thought i couldnt be any more impressed by the man he goes and does this. I mean the Islander had me in tears for a good couple days when i was getting to know it and then this gave me chills and put a huge ass smile on my face. Rock on man and look forward to next wishday!🤯🤘🤘🤘👍
Again and again i come back your reactions about NW. I have look all of them x 100. I look what you say about them coment about fb , and i think you are right. But still i feel so good every morning to listen you reactions or just the videos about them. That get my day going. THANK YOU again Tank.
My favorite Nightwish singer is whoever happens to being singing in that particular song/version. They are all SO good and play to their strengths so well.
Massive respect for holding off on Poet/Pendulum. A few more dives into Tuomas' psyche first are a great idea. I think their performance of this served many purposes. It gave a sense of their feeling (original was based on a band split, their tribute forewarned a band split?), it offered Tarja the traditional outfit change and breather, but also I think the band was faced with the idea of being without a female lead for a duration. Marco clearly has chops, but that had to be proven to NW fans back then. There are demos of several songs with Marco as vocalist floating in YT and elsewhere on the internet which back up that idea.
Hey Tank! Couldn’t agree with you more, best version of this Floyd classic. I have been telling everyone about Nightwish, as most people have never heard of them from here (Australia). I only discovered them about a year ago and now can’t get enough of them. Keep up good reactions, best wishes 🇦🇺❤️🤘
Every once in a while a cover happens that’s as good or better than the original and this is one of those for me. Freaking Marco’s voice. And the comment about Emppu is totally on point.
All aboard the Marko train. He is Nightwish's best singer. You probably need to see Over The Hills & Far Away or The Siren from the End Of An Era concert next. I know I've been pushing you to see Galneryus here, on the Discord, & on Patreon... However you need to see Sabaton's En Livstid I Krig (Swedish version of Lifetime Of War) live in Gothenburg. As a former soldier, that song hits hard in the heart. Hell, listen to both the Swedish & English versions. They are two different stories of the Thirty Years War, the English version being a historical view from a neutral observer, but the Swedish version is from the viewpoint of a Swedish soldier heading off into war. The live version of this song in Gothenburg is incredible & is a must see. It does not have English subtitles, but you can auto translate the Russian subtitles. It's not an accurate Swedish to English translation but it conveys the same message with some Russian embellishments. The only problem with it is that after listening to the Swedish version, you'll probably won't listen to the English version ever again.
I didn't know the Point of view was different in the swedish version (I don't speak swedish) so I need to check that out. Wow! I would definitely second Galneryus! They are awesome!
@@ayrie09 Joakim said on their Sabaton History channel that a straight English to Swedish translation wouldn't have worked for Lifetime Of War, plus it's easier for them to write music in Swedish.
I had "high hopes" for this video and i was not disappointed

I am an Pink Floyd fan since 1975 but I never heard before the song High Hopes from a other band. This version from Nightwish is absolutely amazing fantastic overwhelming 🤘🤘🤘🤘thank you for your reaction I like it
🤘🤘🤘
I've always thought that Emmpu and Gilmore actually have a lot in common. It's about the perfect note at the perfect time, not who can get there the fastest.
This bands catalogue is astounding when it comes to quality performance after quality performance.
The last of the great rock bands.
This still just melts my bones. I miss Marko, and Jukka. Kai is a BEAST....but Jukka and Marko first pulled me in.
Much appreciated, man! Thank you!
One of my favorite Nightwish songs reacted to by one of my favorite reactors!
And also they played this song nearly every show of their 2004-2005 Tour. It's like they were telling her way in advance.
Johnny Cash - Hurt,
Disturbed - The Sound of Silence,
Nightwish - High Hopes
or, the trifecta of "how to properly do a cover"
Throw in "Sweet Dreams" - Marilyn Manson & "Imagine" - A Perfect Circle & make that a pentagram
I'd add Bad Wolves and Zombie to the list too. Same kind of change as Sound of Silence, changing it from a request to a demand for action.
I think Maynard really took the different perspective to heart and created something both dark and beautiful from that.
hands down the best Pink Floyd cover out there
I always enjoy and learn from your reactions.
Great reaction to a great song, covered by a great band.
And to echo others, While Your Lips Are Still Red (Wembley) has to be next.
either that or Seven Days to the Wolves at Wembley
I'm never mad when people pause as long as they bring it back.
I saw them for the first time in 2005 at Hell. It's a place north from Trondheim, Norway. That was the first time I heard Marko sing that song and last. I just love his voice. And what a powerfull voice he have. I've seen them 2 times after Hell, i just love that band. 🤘
Marco is a fantastic singer, and he deserves more songs in Nightwish! Sadly, more songs with Marco means less songs with Floor! What a dilemma!
Exactly the right amount of everything in every place. The Nightwise and the art of perfect sufficiency.
The first time I listened to this cover I cried so much! I just love this song, and this tribute is truly amazing!!!
This is a great, emotional and powerful cover. And you are absolutely right about Emppu's playing. He's an excellent musician and a real gentleman.
NW amazes me every single day. I've listened to certain songs dozens of times, and every time I still find new things to be amazed about
The best cover I've ever heard. Better than original 💪
There are really not any words to discribe their talent.
Recommending "Seven Days to the Wolves" (Wembley) next ♥
Thank you for this one, you and Chase are really giving us an amazing week!!
Seven Days to the wolves is underrated!
Also, there haven't been many react channels that watched it.
The stage presence is unreal during that performance.
Dead boy's poem at Buenos Aires is flawless. Give it a chance to see what a masterpiece it is. Greetings from Greece.
Not only thrash, even death sometimes!
Totally into this song too. Yes please!!
So mad that he actually SINGS on the track (well, thrash metal shout/scream sings)
Next--> Nightwish - Ghost River (Wacken 2013) Its so GOOD!
Markos vocals are so menacing in this one!
Yes, Marko voice....Mind Blow take note Tank
Yes, the Wacken version is the best I know. For me, it's the best song from the Wacken 2013 gig and every damn song on that gig was epic.
Great reaction. While Your Lips are Still Red from Wembley has to be next.
I was about to say the same 😍
For more Marko maybe try something from his solocareer. The latest being the album " Isäni ääni " which has also been made in english as " the Voice Of My Father"... and of that album " Stones" is also great etc. etc 😁🤘Thanks again for this reaction.
Couldn't agree more. His solo album is great and should be reacted to
Isani aani is too soft for him. I recommend Stones.
@@CemKalyoncu What's wrong with soft if you like the guys voice😁 It doesn't have to be heavy all the time.👍
@@miias.7334 Some people like it heavy (like Tank), better start with what you like then move forwards from there. I like soft too, at times, but if I didn't know Marco and listened Isani aani first, I would probably pass on him.
Back to back
Isäni ääni and sound of my father after for the lyrics
I could listen to this song over and over again. That damn good
I've been listening to Nightwish for 20 years and I'm still not ready for The Poet And The Pendulum. Still breaks me up inside to this day👍🏻👍🏻
have to add another comment to this, NO ONE in Nightwish is there to show off.
The band is not the same without him.
Fact : -) Tank fFact : This band is great, understatement of the century
I don't think you've heard "song of myself" yet. Great choice!
Yes wacken 2013 please
I agree this is one of the best tribute/cover songs I've ever heard. This is one of the few positives of 2020 is my further discovery of Nightwish. Thanks for the vids and I enjoy them all.
Your reaction channel is THE BEST on RUclips. It's more detailed than just people who are trying to hard to make reaction videos. You explain much of the behind the scenes setup etc. Very interesting for people who love the theatre and production value.
You are an entertainer as well by bringing a depth and expansion to the music being played.
Ian Crouse
Thank you so much, from one Ian to another. 😎
Well.. Pink Floyd is holy. I couldn't think of _any_ other band who could do this - without it being a sacrilege.
❤️
Wow Roadie... what a song... Marco makes me cry... amazing performance... THANK YOU for this reaction...
This tribute is something else. Possibly one of the greatest ever.
My Saturday night Tank binge continues.
Haha. Thanks man!
TankTheTech
No problem man!
- your friend just to the north of the Illinois border. Go packers!! Lol
I’d recommend Slaying the Dreamer from the same live. PERKELEEEE!!!
I'm italian, but I know THAT Finnish word...😅😜🤣
👋🇮🇹🖖
This seems extra sad for me because it’s like they’re looking back at the high hopes they had in the beginning and knowing they were firing Tarja. Awesome, but awesomely sad. At least they didn’t perform Sorrow instead!
As for the singers, they’re all great for their time with the band. Floor is my favorite because I just like her style best. I also love how grounded and down to earth she is 😎
Suggestions for next week: Last Ride of the Day (Waken), Slaying the Dreamer (Buenos Aires), or Sleeping Sun (Tampere with Floor)
But you could also do a Marko reaction between now and then! I love the live video for Death March for Freedom, but the official video for Stones is pretty awesome, too 😎 FYI Marko said that he considers the style of the album Pyre of the Black Heart to be “hard prog” and I swear I hear Pink Floyd influences in a bunch of places on it 😉
Have a kick ass day and keep rockin’ 🤘😎
"This seems extra sad for me because it’s like they’re looking back at the high hopes they had in the beginning and knowing they were firing Tarja."
That's exactly it, in my opinion. Deliberately so. Artists often put their own lives and feelings into the art they create. In my opinion., the entire setlist for this show was carefully selected by the guys, because they knew they were firing Tarja and it would be the last show they played with her.
STOOOOONNNNES!
Ok, im too far down the Nightwish rabbit hole to even think of turning back. However, I'm nowhere near the bottom either. I did not know Floor has sang Sleeping Sun. I'm going to be checking that out real soon.
Does anyone know if Floor has took on The Siren?
horseshoe Check out Tampere for Sleeping Sun 😎 I don’t know that she’s performed The Siren yet 😉
@@parrotheadlasvegas, I hope, YET, is the keyword there. 😉
Probably Marco's best vocal performance. It's one of those track where you don't really want to hear another track immediately afterwards.
On your own time, check out Marko's cover of Megadeth's Symphony of Destruction 😊 There's a fan video somewhere here on YT.
Oh I will. Haha. 🤘
All band did it in 2004, really good!
So beautiful! SHUDDER BEFORE THE BEAUTIFUL next week! It’s one of my faves! Keep rockin’ it out! 🤘🏻
The greatest thing about this is that you haven’t even seen their best stuff yet 😎
If you want something completely different, do Sleeping Sun (Tampere). It’s one of their ballads and my personal favourite song of all time.
Well: Gandalf is a Wizard, je arrives prescisely when he means to. Emppu is a guitar wizard. He plays prescisely what he needs to.
Marco is my favorite as well, hands down. It's a shame he left the band.
Great react every time man, another solid one and thanks for doing it
While Your Lips Are Still Red and / or Endlessness!
The gathering is a great song and a great visual 😉
I don't usually re-watch reaction vids, but I've come back twice again on this one. Good stuff, Maynard!
Thank you!
Might I suggest the official video for Elan. It's Floor and Troy's first video with the band.
*Troy appeared already in the Official Video to "The Islander" (then without beard).*
I seen them perform this on that tour and Marco was my favourite singer related to Nightwish ever since, he is incredible
Hey Tank, Sound guy here. I'm willing to bet there are little to no backing tracks on this song. Really cool to hear the guys really shine on their own.
Love it when your headbanging Tank. I'm right there with you.
You re love for this music makes me soooo happy. I made the exact same journey beginning march this year. I fell in love and actually being obsessed by Nightwish. I m going to join your journey because i cannot stop smiling
I am SO happy we are able to follow you on your Nightwish journey! Love these videos!
OMG, how have I never heard this cover version! That guitar solo in the original is probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard (similar to the ones in Metallica's Orion) and somehow he managed to make it very different but equally stunning. Brought tears to my eyes.
Dimmu Borgir as the background music. Nice. Love your content by the way!
The tone of Emppus’ guitar take me back 20 yrs to old PF stuff.... so spot on🔥🔥. Love this rendition / vocals are fire/ just AWESOME.
I stand corrected. It now has English subtitles
I absolutely second your vote for this Sabaton performance. Its absolutely gorgeous.
Galneryus is a definite MUST!!!
Ive never seen a nightwish member "show off" really in any way. They are all professionals with their instrument, perfection.
