2:20 transcript sent from our school of nursing, but in the CGFN application I don’t see anywhere they ask us to upload or how the school is suppose to send it to CGFN
Hello, CGFNS mailing address is: 3600 Market Street, Suite 400, Philadelphia, PA, USA, 19104-2651 - your school should be able to mail it there, I cannot remember if there is an email for CGFNS but it should be on the form
Hi Linda, question, once you submit application, did you have to pay right away? Did you also need to call your schools for transcripts? How do you send transcripts to them? Thank you so much!
Hi Linda your video is very useful and the way you explain is easy to understand. I just have one more question if a nurse is applying to work in USA are they able to bring their spouse with them?
Do we need RN experience to apply for CGFNS? And do we need to be currently employed as RN to apply for this process? If anyone can answer and help please.
I am not sure if you can convert TN to green card as TN visa means you do not have an intent to immigrant. However I do know people who are under TN visa and the hospital sponsored them to get a green card.
Hello, yes, I did secure a position through a job fair and they sponsored me for a TN visa as I had to get a letter from the hospital describing my position, wage, etc...hope this helps!
Hey Linda, hope you are doing great. I live in Canada. Recently cracked NCLEX RN. I want to move US ( Indiana state). My licence is already for Indiana. So, what to do next? Please help me with this. I am excited to hearing from you. Thank you
Hello! Did you happen to look for/find a job in the US already? If you have a Canadian license you should be able to endorse a US license but you can PM me and we can figure it out together if you still need help!
Hello! Do you already have some sort of US citizenship? Did you already take the NCLEX? If so you just need to apply for your FL nursing license and apply for jobs
hi Linda- that was great. I am only starting to think about this now. I am a RN from Quebec initially ( currently have a Diploma- working on my Bachelors in nursing), therefore I didnot have to do NcLex. But i am practicing as a RN in Ontario so i have my license from CNO. Do i still need to pass NCLEX. If yes, Can you send me the link or any websites to start off the process. another question- should i try Nclex in Ontario or directly USA. another question is -I am a CAN citizen from longtime however I am not born in Canada- was that ever a question? I was talking to this agency -they said that USA goes by the country of birth and not the citizen. Please guide - thanks in advance. Have a good day!
Hello, sorry I am late with this, you will have to pass the NCLEX. I would started with the NCSBN web: www.ncsbn.org/ and create and account to start beginning the application to test. You can do it in ON so it is not so far I did it London, ON. Not too sure on the citizenship portion, do you mean for the CGFNS screening?
Hello Linda! I hope you notice my question, I am an international educated nurse from Philippines and a canadian citizen currently working as an RN in Ontario. Do I also need to obtain IELTS if I want to work to California or when applying for visa screening? Thank you in advance.
Hello Linda. I am an RPN currently working in Canada. I am also a U.S. permanent resident and will move to Texas next month. I gave RexPN in Ontario my question is that RexPN is same as NCLEX PN. Secondly, do I have to write NCLEX PN again in order to working in Texas?
Hey, thanks so much for the info. I have one question. I heard if you are on a TN visa you can’t get a green card ever. So if you like to get a green card someday (for example to study for an NP program as a US domestic student) you need to get a job offer and get other type of visas, regular visas. Do you have any info about that, or any ideas?
Hello, from what I know - you can study in USA on TN as long as it’s not your primary purpose is just to study. Also, you can get a green card if you were TN before - for ex. if you are committed to your hospital they may sponsor you or through marriage.
Hi thanks for the information. Did you have to do any exams like a jurisprudence exam for Michigan? I'm an RN from Ontario and also looking to get a job in Michigan. What job fair did you attend? Or what would you recommend for job searching? Tia
Hello! I do not recall doing the jurisprudence for Michigan, I do remember doing it for Ontario. I actually did attend a job fair and emailed the manager directly. I would definitely recommend job fairs in Detroit/Windsor, ON as some units will do on the spot interviews and these were the ones close to me. I'm not sure if you're looking for metro Detroit area/which specialty but there is: Henry Ford Hospital (main campus, start my career here and love it!), Beaumont, DMC, and St. John Ascension - usually HFH and Beaumont host job fairs in Windsor, ON as well. DM me if you want more info on what I know and I can try and help!
Thank you for the video! Can I apply to all these while I am in the states? Do I need to be in Canada or physically go to the Canadian border for the TN visa or anything else?
I personally live in a border city so going to the CAN/US border was the easiest, I drove to the USA Port of entry and I brought my documents (Sponsor letter, Passport, Visa Screen, Licence, Transcripts, SSN, and $56 CASH/Credit) and received my TN Status/I94 the same day!
Hello! Sorry for the late reply, but here is the link for trusted www.trustedhealth.com/licensure-guide/new-york >>>it will take you to the NYSED website to fill out your application and other steps, hope this helps!
You said the TN visa is renewable up to 3 years but I was under the impression it was renewable indefinitely. I could be misunderstand. Also did you need two years work experience in your field to apply for a TN?
Hello! Sorry maybe I worded it wrong the TN can be renewable every 3 years indefinitely. The hospital/company can decide how long your TN is valid for based on your sponsor letter.
Hi Linda,I am IEN from Nepal I moved in Canada in Aug 2023 passed nclex and obtained RN from Alberta but now I want to move to USA for better oppurtunities but dont know from where to start. Can you spare time to help me? Also I am permanent resident here.
You can do this, I would just recommend paying attention to license renewal policies/dates and the wait times for the specific state your interested in ie. CGFNS clearance can take up to 6-8 mos+ and if you apply for a state like WA where license renewal is yearly, you may run into having an unused license while still waiting for VisaScreen or a Cali license can take up to 6-8 mos+ as well so it could beneficial!
We don’t qualify for the TN visa but we do for the EB3 green card sponsorship. You would first have to go through the CGFNS screening to verify your education in Canada but depending on where you want to get licensed, you can check out Joseph & Silny associates because they do it too and have recently been approved for screenings as well. They’re who I did mine with. Then , to get licensed in the USA, start by applying at the nursing board for the state you want to work at and then following the steps to write your nclex. Once you’ve passed, you’ll have to apply for jobs that are willing to sponsor nurses and then get sponsored. The great thing about the EB3 visa is that you get a green card with it meaning that you automatically become a permanent resident as opposed to just getting a work visa that expires around every two years. Almost done with my process 😊. I hope this helps.
@@kiearacelina hello, thanks so much for this info! Hello, I had no RN experience, I worked in Detroit straight out of nursing school, hope this helps!
@@lindadiep_ thankyou so much.

I am not sure if you can convert TN to green card as TN visa means you do not have an intent to immigrant. However I do know people who are under TN visa and the hospital sponsored them to get a green card.

Did you apply for your Visa Screen? Once you have a visa screen, you can start job hunting to get a sponsor for your TN Visa/I94!
Hi Linda!
I was just wondering do Canadian nurses have to write any additional exams to work in the US?
Hey, you do not if you took the NCLEX. Thanks for stopping by!
How to transfer RN license from Canada to a state in US but I am still a Permanent resident in the Canada.

Hi Linda! Thanks for the video.
Can you please tell if laminated documents are acceptable during TN visa interview? Thanks
I would just put them in a sliding folder - just my personal experience some officers can be really picky. Hope this helps!
Anything for RTs, sonographer. Thank you

I couldn’t do my finger print without a I94. Was that same for you?
What state are you applying for? Do you mean fingerprints for your licence?
So even if your schooling was done in canada, you still required cgfn??
Yes, I still have to complete CGFNS but you are exempt from the ILETS/English Proficiency test.
Thanks a lot!
Did you have to pay for tax both in US and Canada? Or the Treaty applies?
